It was late and I wanted a quick bite. This is definitely a BBQ fast food Restaurant. Jim N Nick's has a drive through but I opted to dine in. Restaurant is very cute inside. Orders are placed at counter and brought out to your table. I was a little turned off by signs on table limiting seating to those who place an order. I really appreciate that I was able to order from kids menu with an Adult up charge. Portion size was more than I could eat. Loved the mini corn muffin that came with meal. Wasn't a fan of sauce that came on sandwich and in the future would order without sauce. Not sure if they had a variety of sauces or not. Loved the Southern Sweet Tea and Lemonade drink options. Would definitely come back and think this is a great option for quick food. read more

I give up on using the drive through to place orders. They repeatedly get my order wrong. Today 'i ordered a bowl of chili, I received a cup and it was cold. The biscuit was left off the order. The kid's meal pork sandwich had no sauce on the sandwich or the requested side of sauce. To be fair, pick-up orders are always correct and eating in is always a good experience. read more

Went back Saturday around 5pm . Front parking lot was full .The reason for the review I saw too many 3 star reviews and they deserve a 5 stars. First the place is clean and neat. My wife had the 1/2 rack of ribs cole slaw and onion rings and I had the brisket sandwich with cole slaw. Her ribs were cooked just right meaty and with great flavor. I don't get the hype. We had ribs and a pork plate. The ribs were tough, very little meat, that sauce is nothing special on either. The Mac and cheese wasn't good either. The only things good were the French fries and the banana pudding. I know it's a franchise so maybe other locations are much better. read more

This is not a typical Jim N Nicks. It's like a fast food setup but with a bar that was empty at 4 pm. The restaurant was empty at 4 pm.

This Jim 'N Nicks is new and you order at a counter then the food is brought to the table. It was delicious! The servers in the dining room were helpful. The silverware and to go boxes were on a table but it wasn't clear that they were for anyone to just grab. I had just one mini cheese biscuit. read more

There are clear pros and cons to Jim N Nicks Pros- great sides Slaw ,greens and Mac n cheese excellent Biscuit/ muffins are also excellent We had pork and meat was tender and tasty , but very little smoke flavor .My pork meat was good but my husband's was very fatty . Cons Inconsistent pork Sauces, sauces , sauces Their main sauce if very ketchup forward . Not appealing at all. Their Alabama white sauce was their main ketchup sauce with mayo ...also lackluster. Their Carolina sauce is vinegar and pepper. It lacked a depth of flavor that this type of sauce can have . I would return but would rather eat the meat plain or sneak in a sauce . If you go through the drive thru of this place they will load up the tip menu on the card machine and hand it to you and say "it's gonna ask you a question." No, they are the ones asking the question. They specifically have to load up the tip screen themselves. It doesn't automatically do it. This is tip shaming. I don't tip the burger king folks when i go thru their drive thru. Why would i tip these folks at Jim n Nicks? Do they make $2.13 an hour? Nope. Absolutely nope. I won't be back. I don't answer questions and i don't tip at drive thrus. The food is already overpriced. And the lowest tip amount they give you is 20%. Pure insanity especially when not every employee pre loads the tips. One lady there never does it. If they ever put up a sign out front that says "we stopped tip shaming" and i happen to drive by and see it then i will come back to this place. Just go to moes on broad street. A solid so-so place. Nothing special at all. Ordering is more like cattle herding. There is nothing authentic tasting despite their big display of a smoker outside. I have never seen any smoke coming from it. I have had both the pulled pork and the brisket and neither was as good as what I have had at the other popular places in town. Most everything seems like it has artificial smoke flavor or other taste enhancers added. The atmosphere is crowded, noisy, and too packed together. It is not a relaxing place to go and grab a bite. read more

My Wife and I walked into this restaurant for the first time and were unclear what to do. Then we saw we were to order at the cashier's counter. The menu was behind the cashier on a board above which was difficult to read and we were trying to see what we wanted. By the look in the cashier's eyes we could tell the cashier was getting impatient. My wife explained this was our first visit so we both hurriedly ordered barbeque sandwiches which came with a side each. I ordered a small order of onion rings. This came to an astonishing total of $29 plus. The onion rings were great along with the baked beans. The barbeque which was the main food we came for was really bad, It had little to no taste, it was mushy and my wifes sandwich was loaded with fat. The barbeque was so bad neither of us could finish our sandwiches. Needless to say, we will never go back to this restaurant. read more

COMPLAINT This is a racist location. The sign says that "table reserved for those who have ordered." I took a seat because my party of 7 were in line. An attendent came to me asked me to get up until ordered. I sat down because another lady was seated without cups or table number. I asked why she gets to sit down because her husband at front of line. I went to the General manager because a white lady get to sit down and black lady has to get up. Because we were the only African Americans in the resturant she could clearly see my party of 7. He said that the policy is you can sit down if you actively ordering (front of line) or ordered. I advised that actively ordering is still in line and not ordered. Ordered is with a receipt and table number which this lady did not have. I asked where in the policy or writing does it say actively ordering. He could only show me the sign that stated "the table reserved for those who have ordered." Another white lady over heard my conversation with James Barber (GM) and came to verified that the same happened to her. She said it is not clear and the attendent was rude as well of how she communicated. My issue is that it was not acknowledged that there is a difference between actively ordfering (GM words) or in front of line (attendent words). There are going to more complaints if you see some get to sit without a table number no matter where in line. He thinks it is just only a communication issue but it is more than that. I told this to GM James Barber that this the reason that I asked for Corp and his supervisor. He did not give me Corporate but he did give me his Supervisor Jon at 615-300-3049. read more

I tried something different today since I found out that the smoked wings have gluten. I am gluten free. I could not believe it; so...I decided to try the garden salad and brisket chili combo. I was totally shocked at the portion of the chili...the size of a side dish container. I paid $8.99 for these. I had to eat something else since the chili portion was super small and the salad was a shallow on barely covering the bottom of an oversized to-go container. I would suggest that it is eaten as an appetizer than a meal. read more

I've eaten here at Jim and nicks about five or six times and it's been pretty good. It's worth the wait Saturday they were 21 cars in there to go line. Today I ordered the half pound baby back ribs at $20 they were burnt tough and I couldn't cut them very very disappointed in them especially when I'm spending $20 I won't be ordering them again! read more

It's a brand new location for Jim n Nicks only been open for about a month so I'm sure they are still working some kinks out! They are very busy so you do wait in line to order then have a seat at the tables but the line does move quickly! They do bring out your food to you fairly quickly ! It is like a fast food bbq but not like fast food!! Everything tastes great and you can tell it's from scratch with love! The brisket is amazing!!! I love the turkey! Banana pudding and chocolate pie are my favorite! You can also watch them in the pit area season the meat and chop up meats that's pretty cool! They also keep it clean back there! It was the worst setup I've ever seen style wise. You pay $115 for a meal your whole family has to stand in line for 30 minutes to order, and then you have to make your own drinks. You get all your food at once, so don't bother ordering the starters or a salad because the rest of your food will be cold by the time you get to eat it. You get your dessert at the same time, and then it's warm by time you get to it, or you have to go stand back in line for another 30 minutes to order it later. The food in itself was terrific. Some of the staff were super friendly while others, especially one manager, were rude and hateful. Almost every table is directly under an air vent, so your food gets cold quickly, and you're shivering the whole time. We will definitely be going back to the other locations the next time we want pulled pork. read more

Today was the Grand Opening in Rome, GA!! This was my 10yr old son and I first time getring our food to go in drive-thru. As what can be expected with new hire/opening, there can be small delay with the learning curve and using the tablets/technology while memorizing the menu. The staff was super friendly, we had a small miscommunication in the technology aspect where there was not supposed to be sauce on the BBQ sandwhich and it was repeated back correctly, however the ticket at the window did not communicate that. But the manager, Paul took excellent care of us to fix it and made us feel welcomed, valued, he was sincere about the mistake and swiftly had it corrected. My son Loved the chicken tenders and fries which is huge to me since he is a picky eater lol... needless to say, the service and food were excellent and now you have 2 HAPPY customers!!
