Moe's BBQ added to this special occasion. 30 minutes prior to everyone arriving at our house, I was able to go to Moe's Original BBQ and pick up ribs, brisket, and sides. Everybody LOVED the food! The ribs are consistently tender and full of smoked flavor. You can count on their food tasting and smelling as though the cook was inspired by Edesia herself ; ). From their tender hefty slices of brisket to the sweet potato soufflé, you really can't go wrong with any plate you select. The place is looks like what you expect in a bbq restaurant. The staff was friendly, you order at the counter and they will bring the food out to your table. Nothing fancy in décor. The bbq was good, the pulled pork was tender and moist. Moe's offer plenty of sauce options to suit your taste. We tried several and enjoyed them all. We ordered the full rack of ribs, the side platter, and the fried shrimp platter. The ribs were okay, nothing out of the ordinary and overpriced for the quality. The side platter had macaroni and cheese which was terrible. Dried noodles, no cheese, it really was the worst I've ever had. The banana pudding also disappointed, no flavor of banana, it had more of a bread pudding taste with cinnamon. The cornbread had jalapeños in it, which if you like them great. We do not. The fried shrimp were the only thing that didn't disappoint. Overall disappointing and very overpriced. read more

This is my go-to place in Rome. It's the place I always take guests. I love the BBQ so much and I love being able to try new sides. This visit I tried the okra and it was perfectly crispy. My daughter got the potato salad and enjoyed it. The sweet tea and lemonade always hit the spot. We ate out on the patio and took in the sunshine We brought a friend and she got the chicken nachos. Pork was great, but when I went to eat the sides, they were all extremely small. Small portion of baked beans, and the mud pie wasn't even half way full in the cup. The cornbread was also very small. Stopped in here for lunch, I assumed it was just another bbq place. Cant judge a by its cover. Our table had something from everything on the menu. It was nice to sit outside and have a view of the river. I do not have nor did my table have complaints. I will tell you. Go past the pulled pork and get the wings. Most places that smoke wings have such a heavy dry run on them thats all you can taste and you are thirsty all day. These had a mice smoke ring moist on the inside and no seasoning. My husband and I moved back to the Southeast last August, and we have been having a really hard time finding decent barbecue where we are staying in Alabama. This was our 1st visit to Moe's BBQ and it was really good. Got the pulled pork platter with two sides. Marinated slaw is a tangy vinegar-based variety they nicely let me sample before ordering. Mac-n-cheese was fully adequate. Nice, dark iced tea. Sauce choices seem to be: spicy, sweet & "white." I tried the white, which was mayo-based, but stuck with the sweet. Ordered a double wide family pack with chicken, mac n cheese, marinated coleslaw, and cornbread. Cornbread was delicious and not dry at all. Coleslaw was on the tangy side. Mac n cheese was super salty, like I could taste the salt granules. Chicken had no flavor, but the bbq sauce and Alabama white sauce made up for it. It was a decent meal for the price, but I definitely had better. Also during COVID, the staff did not enforce customers to wear masks who picked up their orders to-go. But I'm also not surprised because a couple of employees also had their mask below their nose. read more

This restaurant adds to our losing streak here in Rome, GA. All we ordered was a lb of pulled pork. The service was fine, and timely (we called in the order), but the pork was bland and had almost no smoke, and that's being generous. How you can be a BBQ restaurant in the south and not know how to make smoky bbq pork is a mystery to me, but I guess I'll just stick to making my own. read more

They had this blacked mahi mahi special and it was really good. The baked beans has this interesting bite to them and so did the cole slaw. Ribs are very good too! It was all a little different than the usual barbeque and tasty. You walk up to the counter and place your order - they bring it to the table.Oh, and the AC works great:) How's that! Some of the best BBQ flavors in North Georgia. I ordered the Smoked Brisket, Mac n cheese, and potato salad. They were all delicious. The brisket fell apart so easily it was great. The atmosphere is good. I noticed lots of dogs so it's obviously pet friendly. We will be back for more BBQ even though I love an hour away. read more

We're visiting Rome, GA for the day first time. We had Moe's Original BBQ. It was very good Ribs fall off the bone. They served us a "Large" which consisted of 6 ribs and spicy house sauce and two sides and one piece of corn bread. It was too spicy for us so they through them out and gave us 6 more with no sauce. The ribs were good. The sweet sauce also tasted spicy. The collared greens were also spicy so they brought us another side of Mac and cheese which was good and their stew also really spicy. The banana pudding and corn bread were also really good. As they say when in Rome you've got to try it. The staff were all really friendly and made us feel welcome. This was so much needed in the old Cotten bock area! It's downtown in an awesome location near the park and bridge. They decorated it very well. The food is very cheap and meals include a drink. The pork was ok not very smoked and very juicy but still it good. The sauces were ok no hot sauce yet but original was good. The sides were great! The Mac n cheese, and the beans and greens were the best.. sweet potatoes were good and the skillet corn was just ok. The cornbread was ok I'm more of a fan of the fritter or just toast. Moe's is our go to when visiting my in-laws in Rome. Everyone can order what they want at the counter and the choices are great. Dad always gets the fried catfish, Mom loves the vegetarian options, Schweety the pulled pork plate, and me, the fickle one has had the salad with smoked chicken, the Mahi tacos and the grilled Mahi special on our various visits. Be sure to check out the specials board before ordering. The service here is always friendly and the food arrives quickly. Located in a reclaimed brick building, just off the main drag, there is plenty of parking behind the restaurant and I look forward to visiting in warmer weather to sit on the large patio, Just note that if you want an adult beverage you'll have to order from the bar that is on a different side of the restaurant from where you order the food. read more
