STEAK BISCUIT /GRAVY & scrambled with cheese

Great service & great food! Place is warm & welcoming, like grandma's kitchen. Food was so fresh & just downright delicious. I don't think I can ever eat chicken fried steak from a place like IHOP ever again.

Visiting town and went here for the first time. We will definitely be back. A few blocks away from the main square but worth the trip. Cozy, clean, friendly family establishment. Quick to seat and clean. Three of us this trip and I ordered the Rooster plate which consisted of an open biscuit with two sausage patties, two eggs and smothered in white gravy with Rooster rounds (hashbrowns). I got my rounds on the side. Wife got the pancake breakfast with 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon and rounds. My son ordered the chicken biscuit with rounds. My rooster plate had great flavor. A very nice mix of items. The wife's pancake breakfast was delicious. Thin and light pancakes. Eggs cooked perfectly too. My son's chicken biscuit was very good as well. Flaky and tasty. Overall a great little joint for breakfast. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Rooster Shack doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you walk in, you've got two dining room options that are very clean. I noticed a health score of 98. We were seated quickly and got our drinks quickly. The service was fast and courteous. I ordered the chicken biscuit with cheese and egg, and it was great. Chicken was perfectly fried and the biscuit was among the best I've had. Loved the place. They have tap-to-pay, making check-out very quick. We rode our e-bikes here from the Winding Waters RV Resort, and it was very easy to get here on mostly back roads.

Empty plates of mine and my daughter and she is a very picky eater and for her to clear her plate as well says a lot about the food here!

Food and service is always on point here. The Young adults that run the day to today here are also awesome people. Thanks you so much for being a part of Cartersville! I would recommend this place to everyone local and visiting.

The food here is amazing. Such a friendly family that runs this little diner. If you were familiar with the old Whistle Stop that was in Cartersville, the Rooster Shack is in the old location. All of the food I have had here is absolutely delicious. They are open 7-2 each day except Sunday when it is 8-2. Great addition to the breakfast and lunch scene in Cartersville. Best grits I have eaten in my life!!!! I love grits and these are the bomb!!

Two handsome guys with their meals.

Today my Son and myself went to the Rooster Shack for the 1st time and I have to say that we were very impressed with the size of our burgers. I got the Charm burger with cole slaw and he got the same with just chili and cheese. The burgers were cooked to perfection and were very tasty, Cooked on Texas toast was a delightful twist. The fries were a little undercooked is the reason for the 4 star and Im sure they would have made it better but I hate to ask once it's served. The place is basically a burger place but I understand their breakfast is fantastic so I will have to try them out for that! Do yourself a flavor and try this hidden gem a try. I think you will be happy you did!

It was so good that we made a point to come back just two weeks later while we were in Cartersville, hoping to order it again. Unfortunately, the second visit was a completely different experience. We arrived around 5:15 p.m. and were immediately asked if we had a reservation. There were plenty of empty tables, yet the hostess made us feel like showing up without a reservation was somehow an inconvenience. We were eventually seated, but it wasn't exactly a welcoming start. Then came what was easily one of the most obnoxious servers I've ever had. He spent more time delivering awkward, canned one-liners than providing good service. He constantly interrupted our meal with quirky comments that weren't funny or entertaining--they were just distracting. To make matters worse, when we asked about the amazing Thai dish we'd had only two weeks earlier, he told us it had already been removed from the menu. Apparently, rotating menu items this quickly is common here. We ordered two different entrées. One was decent. Mine was terrible. It was another Thai-inspired noodle dish made with sweet potato noodles (if I remember correctly). The presentation looked like dog food, and the noodles were so overcooked they had turned into mush. Between the disappointing food and the overbearing server, it made for a long evening. Our food also took more than 50 minutes to arrive after we were seated. After three visits--only one of which had been genuinely enjoyable--we decided to take a break from Table 20. Then we saw a Facebook post featuring catfish over Gouda grits with what looked like a corn and cabbage topping. It looked incredible, so we decided to give the restaurant one more chance this past Saturday. This time I played it safe and made a reservation. We were seated immediately, and thankfully we had a pleasant, professional server. We ordered the catfish and the Pad Thai with spicy mushrooms. The catfish was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it was underwhelming. A good remoulade or complementary sauce would have gone a long way. The Pad Thai, however, was one of the worst restaurant dishes I've been served in a long time. The mushrooms were burned completely black--crunchy, bitter, and tasting like burnt popcorn. That burnt flavor had spread throughout the entire dish, making it completely inedible. I asked our server if it was supposed to be prepared that way, even though I already knew the answer. She said it didn't look like that when she had tried it previously. She took a few of the mushrooms back to the kitchen to ask the chef. She returned with a small mason jar of freshly cooked mushrooms that were soft and perfectly prepared--but completely unseasoned. Unfortunately, replacing the mushrooms didn't solve the problem because the noodles themselves had already absorbed the overwhelming burnt flavor. I tried eating a few bites but simply couldn't finish it. When I explained that the dish was inedible because of the burned mushrooms, our server handled the situation professionally. She offered a complimentary dessert, a free cocktail, or another entrée to go. I appreciated the effort, but at that point I just wanted an entrée that was cooked correctly the first time. To their credit, they removed the Pad Thai from the bill. I still tipped based on what the full total would have been because none of this was our server's fault. She did everything she could to make things right. What disappointed me most was that neither a manager nor the chef ever came to our table to apologize or even acknowledge what had happened. A dish in that condition should never have left the kitchen in the first place. The lack of quality control--and the lack of management involvement afterward--was honestly more disappointing than the bad meal itself. At this point, we've given Table 20 multiple chances. When the food is good, it's very good. But when it's bad, it's really bad. The inconsistency makes it feel like you're rolling the dice every time you eat there, especially considering the prices. For us, that's enough. We won't be returning anytime soon.

My kind recommendation from a local that wants y'all to grow and succeed - invest in technology and staff training immediately. We went on a few days that was crowded and busy. This coffee and bagel shop doesn't have true competition around, so for local patrons the options are limited. By the time we got to the counter after standing in a long line, the staff had run out of printer paper to take our order. So the team decided to handwrite our order (which then led to us receiving an incorrect order on top of a long wait) Now the food itself I give it a 4/5 (this is the potential part) As for the staff & ambiance/ atmosphere: 1/5 The staff was kind but they did not have the tools to be set up for success. To the management, stop making your staff look bad. We want to support and see yall flourish so please invest in their training and better pos technology to streamline the bottleneck at the counter. Also, better coffee options wouldn't hurt. Kind regards.

When we arrived to our room the first thing I noticed was the view! We were on the ground level, so we had a nice sitting area just outside the room. Although it was too cold to sit outside, the view from inside was just as nice. Once I started looking around at the room I noticed how outdated and in need of deep cleaning it was. The carpet was stained, our bedding was stained, the wallpaper was peeling off, dirt and grime had gathered in the corners, and there was toothpaste or cleaning spray all over the bathroom mirror and sink. My side of the bed was caving in, so when I laid on my left side I rolled a bit, which makes me think maybe the mattresses need to be replaced. I will say, the pillows were comfy! That evening we ate at the restaurant where we ordered off the menu. I ordered The Falls Burger, which is your basic cheeseburger with the usual toppings - lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese. The burger tasted like it was previously frozen, but the fries were delicious! Our waitress, McKenzie, was incredible! She was attentive and friendly and deserves recognition! We ended up back at the lodge restaurant the following evening where they were serving a buffet dinner only, no option to order off the menu. McKenzie was great once again, but unfortunately, the food was not. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls, yellow rice, black eyed peas, BBQ chicken, catfish, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and apple pie. All of the items I ate were cold and just mediocre. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the $46 bill - $27.99 for an adult and $15.99 for a child. Absurd for the lack of options and for the cold food. (Keep in mind that the closest towns with good dining options are at least 30 mins away.) During nice weather the falls are gorgeous to hike up to and the park is fun to explore, but take note if you have children with you and the weather isn't great, there's not much for them to do. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a trip! And I truly believe the lodge could be brought back to life with a few changes.
