We lived in the Marietta area between 1993 and 2000 so we had been to Marietta Diner many times before and since we were back in town for a Braves game, we hit it on a Thursday night and then again for breakfast on a Friday. I ordered a club sandwich, my wife ordered a tomato with chicken salad, and our son ordered an egg sandwich. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings, which of course was a mistake due to the amount of food in our order. The onion rings came out first. Large order with ranch dressing. Crispy and hot. They were very good. Again, I understand that is really doesn't take much to prepare a club sandwich but it was very good and the bacon was crisp and smoky. My wife and son really enjoyed their meals and spoke of how delicious they were. Again, massive portions. Friday morning our son chose the Marietta Diner again and we had breakfast. I ordered the deluxe pancake breakfast with home fries. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict, and our son ordered pancakes and bacon. Unlike many places, these pancakes don't rely upon syrup or toppings for their only taste. they are simply good. Bacon was cooked perfectly for my taste. The home fries were delicious and a massive portion. Again, I could not finish everything. Our son agreed with me on the taste of the pancakes. My wife loved the Eggs Benedict with the only complaint, one egg was cooked perfectly runny and the other overcooked. Service was fast and efficient again. Everything you could ever want. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert - 24/7! I love the Greek lemon chicken soup. The chicken and waffles are great, and the chopped steak dinner is yummy! Our server, Rengel, was so sweet and attentive. He asked us if we wanted a dessert after eating, our huge meals and we said no, but he was so sweet and brought our granddaughter a sundae. The place is always hopping, so if you don't want a crowd or to wait, you might want to consider going a little earlier for your meal. However, the service is so good and quick that you really never wait too long. It's always worth it. The restaurant is warm on the inside with sort of a dark interior and lots of mirrors. Marietta Diner went above and beyond again today. We encountered a very busy restaurant at lunch with standing room only in the hallways, yet the hostess estimated our wait time as 15 minutes. And sure enough, the staff delivered and had us seated within 15 minutes. My sausage and cheese omelette was delicious, as were the home fries,, although I did add salt, pepper, and hot sauce. My family enjoyed gyro platter with Greek potatoes and Greek salad., corned beef hash, and eggs. Our server was friendly, personable, and very quick. Don't believe the hype. Never again. This place is trash. The food was tasteless. My daughter had a hot dog and it was basically bland spongy meat. My Denver had no real discernible flavor, the hash browns were this hard, chewy mass. The biscuit was not terrible, but kind of gummy. The meat in my son's spaghetti tasted like someone had used taco meat instead of ground beef. The fries were D-tier, not that crispy, cold with no flavor. The ice cream was good--because it wasn't made there. The waiter was fine, but there's a kind of rude vibe from the non-wait staff. There's too much on the menu, so statistically it can't all be great, but none of our food was good-seven people. A good diner is a treasure for a town. Marietta, keep hunting. read more

I opted for the chicken fried steak and eggs since they serve breakfast all day. That's my staple litmus for an all day breakfast serving joint. Your chicken fried steak must be on point and to be honest, it was okay. The breading was seasoned nicely and it wasn't caked on like other places. The meat was tender and flavorful. The gravy was pretty disappointing as it was more of a sauce than a gravy. The grits were bland and needed help. The scrambled eggs didn't know what they were as they weren't diner style cooked because they literally also held a creamy texture in the middle of it, plus they were unseasoned and also needed help. I stopped in here on a work trip based on a recommendation from a coworker. It's a cool little joint that's got the old school diner feel yet a much larger footprint. It was full for a Wednesday night which told me right off the bat that it was good. The menu is very large almost like a book so there is something for everyone at this restaurant. I ended up ordering one of the Wednesday specials, because yes, they had a whole separate page just for the specials that day. Seafood amore... and man it did not disappoint. It came with mashed potatoes, soup, a fresh salad, and bread. Everything was on point. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The bread alone deserves a mention, especially the baked spinach bread/pie, which was a great touch and something a little different. Service was just as impressive as the food. We heard great things about this diner & decided to check it out. The portions are huge! We had bread & spinach pie brought out to the table. The bread was hot, fresh & fluffy, the spinach pie was savory & delicious. I got the Guy Feirra seafood Mardi Gras pasta & a huge plate came out w/lots of seafood of all kinds & penne pasta, it was delicious & creamy. The only complaint I have is that the clams & lobster tail came w/the shells on which I had to remove prior to eating. Bought the left overs home & I will have enough for 2 meals. My husband got the fried shrimp with French fries. He said the shrimp tasted like it had just been caught from the Gulf & they were big & tasty. The fries were good as well. The only complaint my husband had was that our waitress didn't know what Italian dressing was (sounds like she was from an Eastern block country so there could have been a language barrier) and brought him Russian dressing but the salad was good & tasty. This place was in the top most reviewed places, so we definitely had to go. For ambiance I'd give this place a 5/5. The outside reminded me of my favorite Diners (they may have actually just taken the exact design, depending on which one is older). When you walk in there was a long line, but, the seats were comfy and the maitrede was very friendly. When you walk past this you get to see all the great desserts (and they do have quite a few) paraded by you. Dancing in a nice light, inviting you before you even have them. For service, beyond the maitrede, the first waitress seemed to get busy, and before it had been two minutes the owner said something to another server, and she apologized and immediately took over. You get that warm comfortable feeling as if you're at home (but can eat whatever you want when you want as it's open 24/7). They also have balloon animals for kids. Service I'd give it a 5/5. The server (I forgot her name but she was very sweet) noticed that I took one sip out of my wife's soda (just one!) and got us another one. She also got us the biggest slice ever of cheesecake mousse (thank you!). The food was definitely incredible. I got the Pierogi Remano with chicken and it was a one of a kind item that I'm going to ask my wife to make ( I kept asking her when we were there for this) when we head back home. It came with a soup and salad, and they even seem to make their croutons in house (so good!). I ordered the spinach pie, which was flaky, buttery, cheesy, with just the right amount of spinach. The greek side salad didn't have the ripest vegetables, but the feta cheese and dressing pair deliciously with the entire plate. I also tried the Pastrami Smash Burger, which was really well prepared. The portions are huge, so don't expect to finish your plate. If you're willing to stop eating before your full, I recommend getting a slice of cake to share. The old school 50s environment is what really sells this place though, from the exterior neon and chrome design, to the interior wallpaper and booths. You can tell there's a lot of history despite only being around for 30 years. We started with the Saturday flaming cheese special. The presentation was pure theater--they brought it out tableside and set it ablaze right before our eyes, a dramatic flourish that was genuinely cool and memorable. My only real disappointment was that the pasta itself was slightly undercooked that day--noticeable enough to take the edge off an otherwise strong dish. It came with a solid Caesar salad (nothing revolutionary, but fresh and well-executed) and a very good seafood bisque loaded with seafood in a creamy, balanced broth. My husband's Chicken Picasso with gnocchi in a rich, creamy "Opa" sauce was a standout--fried chicken with a perfect crust, topped with cheese, and paired with pillowy-tender gnocchi that held its form beautifully against the sauce. He also loved the seafood bisque, which matched mine in quality. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time, while meeting up with friends. As this was my 1st visit, I had no notion of expectations. Upon entering the full parking lot, under the colorfully lit sign, it was apparent that this place is quite busy. The drive-thru shares the same parking lot as indoor patrons. Ourwait (11:30 pm-ish on a Thursday) not being very long at all, gave my friends plenty of time to give me the rundown of the fare. Nevertheless, I was floored by the huge menus with something to satisfy everyone, kids included. The dining area, bustling with courteous staff and patrons alike, opens to ample table and both seating. We were properly greeted by our server who took our drink orders & gave us time to make our choices. Dinner started it with bread and Spanakopita, quickly followed up by our matzo ball soup, salad and HUGE entrees. The servings are not for the weak, but you'll feel like you've been fed enough for one, so bring empty tummies! And forget calorie or carb counting; this is a full-on cheat meal. All the dishes were well prepared, nothing being overly-salted :) Then, of course, we cannot forget the dessert displays - one side, having pies and cheesecake and the other having just about any cake you could think of wanting to have, as a special treat. We had such a fun time here--rolled into a completely lit up restaurant late night and cars were lined up at the drive-thru, people were still walking in, parking lot was full-but not too full that you couldn't find parking. We were seated immediately, but not before I ran over to the dessert counter to look at all the pastries. The waiters joked with us, were professional, and friendly. They started us off with spanakopita (spinach pie) and a giant, warm fresh loaf of bread (tastes like hawaiian bread). Super yummy, especially as it was complimentary, though the spanakopita was a bit greasy. All foods are in GIANT portions and I mean GIGANTICA. The Greek platters are amazing and the meats were all incredibly tender (you could literally chomp the lamb chops with your teeth; no knife required!) The pierogi is super creamy and decadent...we were very impressed. Dessert-wise, we got the key lime pie and key lime pie cheesecake--we prefer a tangier key lime pie and I couldn't taste the key lime in the cheesecake. We also got a baklava cheesecake, which was way too sweet for my liking, and some snowballs/wedding cookies, which were light and very nice. The desserts were a bit of a flop for me (minus the cookies), but might just be personal preference. I definitely want to try the carrot cake and other sweets next time. The NEON and CHROME diner from the outside is insanely eye-catching and honestly, I love the retro maximalist look. It even has a drive thru! The interior, too, is like stepping into a time machine to the past. The menu, which is like a novel, also made me feel like I was in a fever dream. There were some truly shocking dishes that I'd never even envisioned before, like a tomato stuffed with tuna, egg, or chicken salad. Seriously, peruse the whole menu, because it's worth seeing all the crazy offerings. I decided to go the dessert route for dinner. I thought the cakes in the display case looked pretty enticing, and is a cake really that much different than getting French toast with all the fixin's? So I ordered the black & white cake and it was a ginormous slice of cake. I ate all the cake portions and left behind a lot of the frosting. It was a pretty good, but not incredible, piece of cake. We went at an off time after a show in ATL so got seated quickly late on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was a long timer & several servers we experienced all come with an extra dose of personality. On Saturday afternoon, the place was extremely busy, and we had to wait about an hour for a table. It seems they need to improve their seating arrangements to accommodate customers more efficiently. I noticed a few groups leaving due to this issue. They tell you that two more tables are available and that you will be next, but then four or five families pass by, and you're still waiting for a table to be ready. However, once we were seated, everything changed. The waiter was incredibly attentive, prompt, and quick with our food. The dishes were delicious; I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, and the flavors were spot on. Everyone in our group was very satisfied with their meals. Also my server was personable and friendly for it being 6 o o'clock in the morning. I watched this place on diners driving and dives. So because I was visiting the area for work I wanted to go. Great large menu, but I opted for breakfast. The diner breakfast particularly. The French toast was rubbery, the hash browns hard and laid in the grill too long. My bacon was both done and undercooked at the same time (on the same piece) the sausage looks rough but was great texture. The eggs were good tho. Intro - Marietta Diner is a classic staple in the Atlanta/Marietta area. Everyone should go at least once. Ambiance/Vibe - 3.5/5 This seems like a low score, but it's not at all. It's a diner. It's nothing fancy, pretty straightforward as far as diners go. It's clean, good lighting and maybe a little nicer than your average diner. Service - 5/5 Our server was great. Quick, attentive and personable. The manager was even walking around checking in on the patrons. Food - 5/5 This place has some of everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. The menu is CRAZY and then they have the nerve to have ANOTHER menu with specials on it. Man whaaaaattttt! I said everybody needs to come here at least once but the truth is you could have lived in the area your whole life and never tried everything on this menu! I ordered off the special menu, it was a seafood pasta which I forgot the name but it was great and soooo much food! Drinks - N/A I just had water. I know. Boring. But I've been before and they have a adult beverages available. Final Verdict - 5/5 If you live in the area, you should have already been here, what are you waiting fooooor!? My food was okay but I only had a BLT. My friend had a French dip that she couldn't even eat. Had a bad taste. The worst part is our bills were messed up and we both got charged wrong. She was charged for a drink and all she had was water. They charged me for her meal and she got charged for my meal. They acted like they didn't know how to fix the problem. We both ended up paying more than what we should have. Also no apology whatsoever and I believe one of the people trying to help was a manager. They acted like it was our fault. read more

Good 24/7 spot. The menu is bananas! So many options to choose from. It's won some awards as well. The setting is bustling and busy. The food was cool. Nothing great except the chicken noodle soup but nothing bad either. The strawberry short cake was very nice. The blueberry cake was good but not better. Service was fine as well. I'd go back just to try more. For a late nice this is a good choice. read more

This is my first 5 star review on Yelp. My family and I were in Atlanta for the weekend and tried several restaurants while we were there. The Marietta Diner was without a doubt THE BEST food AND dessert we had during our visit to the area. I had the Matza Ball Soup and my wife had a Greek salad for starters. We split the Pierogi (added chicken) and it was phenomenal. Hands down the best pierogi I have ever had. Them their is the desserts. My heavens, the desserts... I wanted all of them. All looked worth of 5 stars. We had the turtle cheesecake and Im not sure what kind of turtles they're using but they're phenomenal! read more

Marietta diner has a menu that I wouldn't expect. I am originally from New Jersey. We have diners on every corner so I'm used to getting breakfast food and burgers at some and maybe a steak and eggs here or there. This diner has been on diners, drive-ins and dives on the Food Network and has been critically acclaimed so I knew I had to try it out. We ended up coming here one night for dinner and the menu was so extensive. I couldn't decide what I wanted and they have everything from ribs to chicken sandwich sandwiches to salad to steaks and everything in between I ended up getting a sandwich which tasted really good and I will definitely get it again but with grilled chicken instead of fried and my date ended up getting a burger that he said was amazing. We will definitely come here one night again. read more

What a great place! LOVE the art deco vibe. Service was attentive and considerate. And the menu! Omg, if you can't find something to eat here, you're just not hungry enough. I had the tuna melt and I think there was a an entire can of tuna in that sandwich. Oh. And save room for dessert! One slice of cake can feed a table of 4. Not even kidding. read more
