Lemon pepper wings that were delicious!
Judy M.

Everything as usual was wonderful! That's why it is a favorite spot of mine especially since they added the happy hour of half price appetizers! The crab stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta are delightfully delicious and filling! Today I tried the French onion soup and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it is plus cheesy yum! The staff are fun and engaging... they actually miss us if we miss our weekly visit! We don't always partake of their amazing desserts but when we do wowza! The coconut creme pie and chocolate creme pie are memorable to say the least. If either of those two are in the case when you go you won't go wrong with either one of them! They've also added RnB and jazz nights along with trivia. So much is offered from this restaurant just down the street from my house.

Went in for the International Beer special that the staff did not even know about ~ buy one get 2nd for $1. The choices were Modelo, Stella or Corona :/ Beer was skunky and not even chilled cold. Disappointing. Tried salad for the first time ~ most iceberg and a sprinkle of other components. Disappointing. Fettuccine sooo salty. Burger was delish with crispy fries. Gone is the mouthwatering cake display and verbalized selection is less than before. Service was friendly and kind. Just a bit of an unknown wait for our food to arrive.

The service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and answered all our questions about the menu. The decor was pub-like but very inviting. The food was good, but the drinks were better. Would be back

Coconut Cake

First time visiting and I was impressed from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the hostess and seated while I waited for the rest of my party. While waiting, I headed to the bar and ordered the holiday drink, the Grinch, which was super delicious. The bartender was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about the drink menu. I also had the chance to try an array of appetizers, and every single one was just as delicious--honestly, they made me even more excited to try my main course. I ordered the country fried steak, and it was fantastic--extra crispy on the outside, super moist on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. My sides were the lemon potato wedges, cooked just right (not soggy at all) with a lemon flavor that gave them an extra kick. For dessert, I had the coconut cake, and it's truly one of the best coconut cakes I've ever had. As you can probably tell from the picture, I almost finished it before remembering to snap a photo. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this place to others.

Western Omelet Country Fresh Eggs

The food is amazing. The eggs are succulent, and I was snorting the eggs up like I hadn't eaten in days. The chicken wings are moist flavor is on top. It's not overbearing lamb chops freaking God and the hospitality is amazing. You just gotta have their waffles. Some things big they cannot fit into the palm of your hand as a slice.

The Diner at Webb Gin is an absolute gem. We were greeted with warm, friendly service. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience--our server, Shirley, was absolutely lovely. The drinks are top-notch--do not miss the espresso martini. It was balanced, smooth, and honestly one of the best I've ever had. I also appreciate the many mimosa flavor options they offer! The standouts on the menu for me were the fried risotto balls and Greek salad (the dressing is made in-house and was excellent). Generous portions and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

Spaghetti Bolognese

Super underwhelmed. Our server was great! Brought my family (party of 16) dinner Friday after Thanksgiving for an 8p reservation. We had a variety of dishes including catfish, Bolognese, lamb, chicken livers, asaigo fettuccine, calamari, burger, panini, BLT, mozzarella sticks, and smoked old fashioned. Three people had the smoked old fashioned. No one enjoyed it and maybe one person finished it. The mozzarella sticks and calamari were good. The fettuccine was ok. They loved the chicken livers! The fries were good while hot. No complaints on the BLT or panini. The Bolognese is served with spaghetti and was recommended to me over the catfish and smashed burger. My dish was just ok. My brother had the same thing and took most of it to go but his had more melty cheese. The lamb was ok but it was a good portion. It was tender but my uncle though it looked boiled before beiing cooked through. The piece of catfish I tasted was a bit salty but not terrible. The place was near empty with only 2-3 other parties seated while we dined. Not a favorite meal by a long shot but grateful for a space we could gather with a reservation made earlier the same day.

Open face monte cristo and club.

I have eaten here once for breakfast and once for lunch. For breakfast, I got biscuits and gravy and home fries which were outstanding. It's nice to have actual potatoes served as part of home fries instead of those frozen squares some restaurants serve and call hashbrowns. For the time I went for lunch, I was with a friend. I got the open face, Monte Cristo, and he got the turkey club with a salad. Honestly, I couldn't eat the Monte Cristo. I am not the type of person to send things back, but no part of this was edible. It was the worst combination of flavors. The server was quite gracious and allowed me to pick something else from the menu. I ended up with a tuna salad sandwich which was a basic tuna salad and nothing special. I have not been back since, but I know now never to order the Monte Cristo lol. They have an extensive menu and a huge dessert list so I'll know I'll be back eventually but it's not someplace that I crave.

The World's Best BLT in a Lonely Gas Station Corner…read more Tucked into the dim corner of a run-down gas station off Highway 14 is The Griddle Stop, a place so unassuming you'd drive past it a hundred times without a second thought. Dusty windows, flickering neon, and a gas pump that hasn't worked since the Clinton administration. But behind a creaky door and a scratched-up counter sits the holy grail of sandwiches: the world's best BLT. Served on thick, toasted sourdough that crackles just right under your bite, the bacon comes in unapologetically fat slabs -- smoky, crisp, and curled like it has a story to tell. The lettuce? Iceberg, shredded fresh and cold like it was pulled straight from a mountain stream. The tomatoes are impossibly red, juicy, and somehow always in season, kissed with just enough salt to make your lips tingle. And the mayo -- homemade, garlicky, and spread edge to edge -- binds the whole miracle together. There's no music playing, no Instagram signage, and the cook, a retired Marine named Earl, only grunts when you compliment his food. But when that sandwich hits your table (a wobbly Formica top near the vending machine), the world slows down. You forget you're alone. You forget the gas station smell. You forget everything but the next bite. Five stars. No frills. No fuss. Just the kind of meal that makes you question every fancy sandwich you've ever overpaid for. Earl doesn't serve happiness, but he'll sure as hell give you the sandwich that feels like it.

It was a diverse dining room when I entered & everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal. The place seemed pretty busy, but that didn't seem to matter. Drinks stayed full, food was hot! And delicious! After seating ourselves, it took less than 5 minutes to get menus & drinks, less than 10 minutes after ordering we received what we ordered the way we ordered it. Everything was exemplary and fairly priced! We're used to spending 30-40 per meal and we ate for less than $15 each. It seemed very family friendly, there were TV's inside, music playing, I'll definitely return with the family & tell my friends.

I went to this restaurant with my mother to check out a new place for breakfast, both of us excited to give it a try. Right off the bat, the waitress treated us coldly. She spoke to us with an irritated, passive-aggressive tone and seemed to regard us with displeasure. She constantly visited our table and tried to rush us to leave during our entire visit. We were confused by this because we always take extra care to treat waitstaff kindly, especially since we both have a background in service. We didn't want to assume that it was from prejudice, but the continued behavior from the waitress and the clientele made us feel that it was so. Customers stared us the entire time, as if we did not belong there. When our food arrived, another customer peeked over the corner of the wall from their table. They stared at us, laughed, then returned to their table. We felt like we were in a movie due to the outlandish negative ambience of this restaurant. We had never felt so unwelcome and gawked at. One of the waitresses that checked in on us were nice, but the amount of negativity from the rest of the restaurant was too much to ignore. The food was alright, nothing special. The french toast was too egg-y for my taste. The coffee wasn't great. Biscuit and gravy was pretty good though, I'll give them that I guess. The rude service only slightly subsided after checkout. The whole experience had a very "what the fuck" factor that I never want to endure with my mother again. Won't be coming back. Ever.

Loved the Cajun Buffet!…read more Normally a buffet is cold and basic foods that come out of cans without any care of attention but the buffet here was very unique in the fact that things were freshly made - many from scratch. This buffet had a bit of everything from etouffee, to dirty rice. there were shrimp cakes, a shrimp gumbo, dirty rice, jambalaya, green beans and other dishes (I'm not going to list everything here because I'm certain it changes on occasion) Also, something that really made the experience great for me that is that when you get the buffet, you have a choice of a blacked or fried tilapia which they make fresh for you every time you ask for it. Its a part of the buffet but not kept out to get cold but served fresh and that's pretty awesome. While I was enjoying my buffet choices, my wife got her order of crab cakes. Normally when you order crab cakes, you prepare to get an appetizer and a dessert. This is mainly because crab cakes are typically not very filling. That said, this was a huge surprise (pun intended). These crab cakes were huge and when I say huge, I'm talking about the diameter of a pancake from IHOP and the Thickness of about half an inch. On top of that, you get two of these. The crab cakes were not deep fried like most people do but grilled and were made without holding back - meaning you actually had crab in every bite and not just filler stuff.  One thing that made this really stand out was the remoulade sauce that was brought out with it. We ordered more of this and asked for some to go. The sauce was killer, crab cakes were also killer.

Beignets. That is the only reason this isn't 1 star…read more If I'm being fair, the rest of my party enjoyed their food. So maybe it's just me. But my meal was bad. Very bad. I ordered jambalaya with the shrimp and crab gumbo as a side. Let's start with the gumbo-first, it was a gumbo with shrimp and cold shredded crab meat sprinkled on top. That's a first for me-gumbo is a hot spicy soup; cold crab meat on top ruins it. Why wouldn't you mix the meat in with the soup? If it's me, and this is how you make authentic gumbo, then it's me. But I've never had it like this and wouldn't want it like this again. Second, the crackers. Perhaps you should check the expiration date on your box of saltines, because serving your guests with saltines that are as fresh as a piece of cardboard sitting in the sun for a year is maybe not a great addition to the soup. Again, maybe it's me. Maybe you like cutting up your amazon boxes and dipping the pieces in your soup. If so, more power to ya-it's our differences that make us interesting. And on to the jambalaya. I have had jambalaya in New Orleans, and creole restaurants throughout the country. I have made my own. My jambalaya experiences have taught me this-if you want to have bad jambalaya, this is where you have it. The chicken was so dry (how dry was it?), it was as if it had been sitting in the desert for a month. The sausage and shrimp were moderately better, but only just. The rice was cooked pretty well, but given the tastelessness of everything else, there were no flavors for the rice to absorb. I loaded it with hot sauce and even still, barely ate any of it. It was bad. As mentioned at the top, the beignets saved this meal. 6 of us got 3 orders and they were good. Not cafe du monde (New Orleans) or Huey's (Savannah) good, but a respectable beignets with lots of sugar. I did enjoy these immensely. Our server was good. Friendly, attentive. But service alone can't save a poor food experience. Everyone else was happier. Po boys were apparently good as was my lady's salmon with a lime cilantro glaze. Kids seem to have enjoyed their meals. But I am not sure I could have been more unhappy with mine.

Now, here is where the rating was impacted! I asked what type of fish it was before making a selection. The staff responded. "Catfish." Coo! Ultimately, it was NOT catfish. I would attribute the texture and how it fried to being along the lines of a Swai or similar fish. The only thing that saved it was the light cornmeal batter, which was good. Not much seasoning, so hot sauce was needed. Sides: Collard greens - good (per my hubs) Macaroni and cheese - standard/good (per my hubs) Deviled eggs - good Broccoli cheese casserole - PASS (there was some sort of brown crumble between the layer of cheese and the actual casserole and it was not needed and wasn't good! Hard, but honest opinion. Also, there were large mushrooms in the casserole (no, it wasn't from a mushroom soup), so beware if you're not a mushroom eater -- I don't mind. Mashed potatoes - good and creamy (Baby girl did no gravy, so we have no thoughts on that!) Fried okra - good (my fav of the sides for the day). We came before 11:30 AM and that proved to be ideal. By the time we left (12:15), it was packed tighter than a can of sardines! Ambiance -- ehhh. It's typical cafeteria vibes. No music. Basic decor.
