Really nice local country breakfast cafe. Food was hot and delicious. Biscuit was fluffy and had a nice flavor . It was not a cat head biscuit size . I would say a normal size. I opted for a breakfast plate which came with grits , biscuit , gravy, eggs , and choice of meat. I opted for country fried steak which is a smaller size portion but tasted really good. The service is fast casual as you order at the counter and pick up and pay. The service is efficient and fast and the server is really sweet and friendly speaking to all the customers. I imagine many customers are regulars. The ambiance is country roadside cafe. The kind of whole in the wall , next to a convenience store place that rarely disappoints . If you are looking for avocado toast and lattes, this ain't your place. No ferns, no table service , no seafood omelette. It's a diner in a gas station. It's zero frills. The menu is handwritten on a white board. The food is delicious. The staff is super friendly. Other customers are welcoming. Prices are cheap. Service is quick. The owner came out from the back to meet me when I said I found them here on Yelp. Such a nice guy- even if the food hadn't been good I would have made plans to return if back in the area. But the food was goooooood. Highly recommended. read more

The onion rings are delicious! You order at the counter and they offer a meat and veggies plus hamburgers, etc. I chose the fried catfish (delicious), fried cabbage and green beans with hush puppies and everything was so good! I was there with 2 other people and they both had the country fried steak and both agreed it had too much pepper for their taste. It was covered in country gravy but the of thing was there was no mashed potatoes or rice? They both found that odd and so did I. Both got the fried cabbage and greens beans too. The place has about 12 tables with mostly blue collar workers on lunch break and you could tell they were regulars. Looks like they do a good take out business. It could use a good cleaning and maybe the 2 ladies could be a little friendlier to the non regulars like us. I could not pry a smile from either of them. The bill for 3 plates with one meat and 2 veggies, 3 sweet teas and one order of onion rings was $47. Kinda pricey for lunch and the amount of food but again mine was excellent. read more

Up front I'll tell you I got here late in their day. That was bad on my part considering they had a busy day. My choices were very limited. So my review likely isn't the best it could be. Staff is excellent and very helpful. The air of service is present and I think they generally really like the restaurant business. Atmosphere could use an updating. I suspect they won't rush into it in the next 7-10 years. Biscuit was great. Gravy was fair... I'd like more flavor. It seemed a bit light on the flavor front. Fried steak was dry on one edge due to the steam table. Again my bad for coming in so late. Coleslaw was a bit sweet. The dressing as a tad thin so it was runny. I would have appreciated it sticking to the slaw itself. Potato salad was just like my mom's. I'd suggest adding just a bit of pickle relish to add dimension to it. I'll return to sample more and do so earlier in the day. read more

We almost missed this restaurant and at first drove by. It's in the far corner of a gas station and has a drive thru for convenience. The best deal on the menu is the breakfast bowl. For under $4 you get an ample helping of grits, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon. I ordered a side of hash browns, which they forgot and over cooked before they brought them to me. I was disappointed that they were from a box, over fried, and void of flavor. This little joint has character and a lot of older locals came in while we were there. Being honest, I was surprised to see so many stars. Maybe our tastes are just drastically different but I found the food very bland and cold. I asked for a chicken sandwich with cheese but it was almost as if they had just opened the little cheese packet and placed it on top. The biscuit was hard as well and the hash brown ridiculously greasy. It was still relatively early (8is) when I went so I don't know. Service, well, the lady that took my order was nice but the one that charged me, wouldn't even smile at me. Place is located on the corner of a small gas station lot and they open very early, loses around 2 I think. They have a drive through for convenience but I didn't see a menu outside so since I didn't know what they served, I went in. Place inside has a southern/country home vibe, somewhat small but clean. Menu in the back is extensive and prices are decent. I love southern/country food but I don't know about here. They seem to have a faithful clientele and a good amount as well but I was definitely not a fan. read more

Not good, But not bad. You can tell they have frequent customers and anyone coming in who doesn't look familiar is given odd looks. I didn't feel Not welcomed, just new. As far as the customer service it was great. The cook is a jokester who has a good dynamic with the cashier and the server. We got two platters with bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. This is a very solid home-cooking type place. The fried chicken is good, the butter beans tastes like your momma cooked them, and the sweet potatoes were wonderful. A friend got a burger and looked great. He was pleased with it. The staff is extremely friendly too. The line wasn't long and the menu to the left. I placed my order and I couldn't believe how fast it was. Hidden gem tucked in the Chevron parking lot. Upon walking in it feels like your walking into your grandmas kitchen from the smell alone. The ladies are welcoming and greet you with a hearty Hello! Now to the food. I first went to try them and ordered a sausage biscuit with gravy. It was so massive that I couldn't finish it and gave the other hand to my son. Then we went again before his school and he ordered a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with hash browns. He was quite the whole way to school, lol. This place and delicious and VERY affordable. The staff is always very nice and they take their jobs seriously. They make sure that hungry people are fed delicious food, expeditiously. I, my husband, and our teen kids absolutely love their breakfast! It is very hard to find biscuits and gravy for breakfast these days and theirs is great! I get mine with sausage in it. They cut up the biscuit and the sausage for easy eating. I like their sausage because it's a bit spicy. My husband and kids get their biscuit sandwiches and love them. The overview: certainly a hole in the wall diner that provides classic Southern and American breakfast and lunch eats in a low profile setting. I walked in here with a friend after Yelping it on a Friday morning at about 8 am. The tiny diner is connected to a Chevron so it doesn't look the most appealing on the outside, but the food packs a ton of satisfaction on the inside! The place was surprisingly quite full, with 5/6 tables already taken. Our order included a chicken biscuit, my go-to egg and cheese biscuit, and an order of flapjacks (maple syrup) with a cup of sweet tea. All for under $9.50. For generous portions. Doesn't get much better than that! The food had a homey, comforting taste to it and everything was hot. I especially loved the scrambled eggs on my hot, soft, flaky biscuit. The pancakes were simply done right. I'd highly recommend this place especially to Gwinnetians looking to give more business to local restaurants over chains like Waffle House/IHOP. More Biscuits Please! BF had their cheese, egg biscuit from a co-worker who brought some into work, and has been itching to find this place again. So we drove into the rather untrekked part of Lawrenceville to find this hole in the wall home-style place (attached to the gas station like the previous reviewer mentioned--thank you for that tip! Otherwise, we would have driven right past!) Surprisingly, they have a drive-thru window on the left. I'm sure that window gets busy during the mornings. Inside, you have closely placed tables with old-fashion, country picnic (red/white) tablecloths. Georgia Bulldog fans obviously, and piggy figurines are the main attractions here. You order at the counter school-cafeteria style. We came for the biscuits, so I can't say anything about the BBQ/lunch half of the menu. Chicken biscuit = delicious, not your greasy, heart-attack Mickie D's biscuits, and a hard toss up to Chick-fil-a biscuits. And to true Southerns, you know we love our Chick-fil-a. There were a bunch of variations of their biscuits (sausage, egg & cheese, country ham, steak, etc). Every item is a la carte priced, but still a good price. Wash it down with some OJ, and there's a perfect breakfast for under $5. Oh, and the house bbq sauce is tasty, if you are looking for some condiments on your biscuit creation. My fiance has had this place several times and loved it. I tried it for the first time today and I may never have breakfast anywhere else! I had the breakfast bowl wit eggs, cheese, sausage, biscuit and gravy and a hashbrown on the side. They scraped the bottom of the bowl for the gravy (still delicious) so they brought us fresh gravy when it was ready. I had more food than i could eat! For the two of us to eat breakfast it was $12.
