We're based in the metro Atlanta area and first visited this spot years ago - loved it then, and happy to report it's still just as good. This time, my husband and I decided to branch out and try the specials, and it absolutely paid off. I'd go that route again without hesitation. The whipped coffee was rich, creamy, and perfectly indulgent - exactly what you want when you're craving a treat. The sticky bun leaned a bit too sweet for my taste, but my husband (who loves anything sugary) was all in. That said, the texture was spot on. Service really stood out. Good food! Local. Not a lot of parking but there's a shopping plaza beside it so I was able to park there and just walk. Last weekend was our second time and we tried something different. So far, all delicious! The service was pleasant. The ambiance is nice-- it's in a small old house so it's tight but it works. We got a to-go order for my aunt's birthday brunch. When we went to pick up, the line was out the door, so My hopes were high. NOTHING disappointed! I tried the shrimp and grits. 10! I also tried the chicken salad with the zucchini bread. 10! I love going places and trying new things, but most of all being pleasantly surprised. Definitely a unique offering I've never seen presented this way! Wish there was a good way to mix this up and would've preferred a tad more sweetness. Novel offering either way. Food: I got one of the specials. It was just okay! By the time I ordered it, they were out of the jam that was supposed to come on it and replaced it with a green tomato type jelly which wasn't remotely close to the sweet/savory flavor that was supposed to be going on which bummed me out a little bit. I've been meaning to leave a review for a while, but better late than never. Brunch Apothecary is easily one of my favorite breakfast spots around. The food is always fresh and consistently good, and it's one of my go-to places to bring friends when we go out for breakfast. The ambiance is great too -- it can get busy, but it still has a really good atmosphere and doesn't take away from the experience. One thing I really like is the daily specials. The regular menu is already solid, but having something different to try each time makes it even better. I've had my eye on the pork belly Benedict for a while and finally tried it, and it's definitely my new favorite thing on the menu. Make sure you ask about their waffle special too. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out. Just be ready for a wait sometimes, but that usually tells you the food is good. read more

Recently visited The Brunch Apothecary for the second time after not having a great experience the first.. and I have to say they did not disappoint this time and so glad we gave them a second chance! We stopped by for breakfast at their opening time (9 am) and even though we arrived a few minutes before they opened there was already a line outside... WOW! We ordered the following: Chicken & Churro Waffles: Cinnamon sugar churro waffle with fried chicken tenders, Guava butter and cane syrup Steak & Eggs: Seasoned Black Angus Steak with two eggs, Truffle Parm potatoes and grilled toast Everything we tried was so good! Steak was cooked to perfection. Chicken was juicy and tender not dry. Waffles too good! I also ordered their whipped coffee and it tasted just like a coffee milkshake. Terrible customer service. The hosts showed no professionalism whatsoever. When guests approach the stand, they don't greet you -- they wait for you to speak first. This happened to me, and I watched them do the same thing to another guest who walked in after us. There was no crowd, and a table was clearly available when we arrived. However, they seated two parties who came in after us. When we asked about the open table, the host said we could sit there but that they were "just giving the waitress some time." We were seated inside the house. There is inside and outside seating. Loved that I got to see in the inside of the restaurant. We were located by a former fireplace. Very cozy. We started with the speciality coffee which is a whipped coffee with almond or whole milk and a caramel drizzle. Whipped coffee was a new thing for me. It was yummy! For breakfast, I ordered the cure for three. It comes with fried chicken, a biscuit (or toast), eggs your way, and a side of your choice. I picked the hash brown casserole. Probably the best biscuit I have had in my life. The fried chicken was so good. Definitely some of the best fried chicken I have had too. My friend had the waffle, rooster red chicken, grits with cheese, and scrabble eggs with cheese. Everything was great! You can get a waffle or churro waffle. The Brunch Apothecary has a really cool southern vibe to it which adds to the ambiance! You can choose to dine inside or they have patio tables in their front deck and it's a plus that there is a parking lot. The menu has great, customizing options which is always a plus. Don't miss out on the roasted potatoes because they are perfection and the biscuit is delicious!! The fried green tomatoes was one of our favorites, it has such a good flavor and crunchiness to it. I ordered the country fried steak which wasn't bad if that's your thing however I got asked if I wanted gravy with it & I said yes but if they could put it on the side (I wasn't told that gravy was an additional cost and I got a whole cup which was like $3 extra). Also, I ordered their whipped coffee which was my first time trying it and it was absolutely delicious!! I would definitely order it again. I had the pork belly eggs Benedict and the Cajun shrimp and I gotta say, it's one of the best brunches I've had in a while. This place feels homey, is affordable, and gives amazing food. I will say my poached egg was completely jammy and not runny as it should be, but other than that all of the flavours were impeccable. The grits were cheesy and I couldn't stop eating them. The pork belly was tender and just the right amount of richness. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and had a snap to them. If I lived near here, I would come once a week. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, but $3.50 for the most basic cup of coffee you could ask for ruined breakfast for me. I needed 8 packets of sugar for the coffee to taste somewhat decent. If you get a cup of coffee before eating here, you'll be in great shape. Went to visit my friend and he had heard great things about this restaurant that he had it in the itinerary. We arrived and there was a 20 minute wait, and while waiting we learned that this place used to be a pharmacy and a party house. I thought that was pretty cool considering the house is pretty old. They have a bunch of tables set up in a comfortable manner. Once our table was ready we sat down and ordered food right away. My favorite brunch spot in Dacula. It gets better on the weekends. I enjoyed my Thursday brunch a lot more terms of service , pace of the experience and the food quality. I've been here twice and love the biscuits. Today I had two eggs with biscuit and the grapefruit crème brûlée. The grapefruit was basically Caramelized on top- it was delicious. The speciality iced coffee with the whip is amazing and a must to try. I love that this restaurant is in a old style home and gives it a very southern feel. It's very cute and they have some outside seating as well. The prices are very fair with the portion size. I love the bench and waiting area in the side too. The parking lot fills up quickly but they have parking across the street as well. Overall a must to try if you are in Dacula or Buford area. read more

I've been here several times before. Whenever I decide to throw caution to the wind and eat an 8,000 calorie breakfast I'll visit, I take care of myself enough that I can take a hit like this once in a while. One particular Sunday this is what I tried to do; a friend of ours and his wife decided we would meet here for breakfast. We got there first and were informed that they would seat us when our party was complete. As we were waiting for our friends it dawned upon us that if they did that we'd probably have a half hour wait by the time our friends got there. I approached the hostess and asked if we could be seated because our friends were about 10 minutes away. I was informed that it was their policy not to seat incomplete parties. She uttered the words "our policy" as if it had the force of scripture or the US constitution. I understand that a business has the right to establish their own policies, but for the company's own survival (i.e. customers spending money there) these policies must not make customers feel as if they're a hindrance. As I'm trying to process a party comes in and is told that there is now a 30 minute wait. My wife and I had gotten there before about 4 or 5 parties of 4 that were promptly seated. When we asked them why we would have to wait to be seated now, they repeated the sacred, intransigent policy and told us we would be prioritized, what, meaning 29 minute wait? We tried to explain the injustice of the whole situation and got the Gen Z stare. They could not care less. They lied and said they had offered us coffee, they didn't (we would have gladly paid for it, not because it's great, it's not, it's Community coffee, but because it would have been nice to have something in our stomachs as we waited). Here's a suggestion, when you hire Gen Zers, it's probably a good idea to show them an orientation video that illustrates to them, in simple and clear language, that the paychecks that they use to buy stuff with ultimately comes from the pockets of customers who may not spend there if they are treated as if they are a bother. Now, Brunch Apothecary, here is MY POLICY: I will never spend a penny at your business again. I asked my friends to not bother inviting me if they are going there. My family's $$$ may not mean much to you now because business is good, but things change, people may decide to eat healthier, you may have competition that does it better, etc. I can guarantee you one thing though, your policy, that your Gen Z employees think is written on stone tablets, will shatter into fine dust, blow into the wind and be forgotten before I EVER set foot in your establishment again or advise a friend to go there. Every time i try to eat here, the wait time is so long. This time it only took 30 mins. And we got there about 40 mins after they open. The parking is small and fills up quick but you can park in the shopping center next door. Once seated we looked through the menu and placed our orders shortly after. History: This restaurant house was in a different location and they literally picked it up and moved it into the location it's at now since 2007. (I am native to the area). A apothecary owned the houses for the town of Dacula back way yonder. Also, this is Rico's world kitchens sister restaurant. Food: The food never disappoints. Like ever. The Belgium waffles are crispy and they add a drizzle of syrup, tossing the waffle in cinnamon and sugar, toasty with a slice of guava jelly. yum The red rooster is a go to of mine. I placed my hand for comparison of how gigantic the biscuit is. Two chicken tenderloins tossed in Texas Pete with smoked gouda. I always add and egg over medium and a fried green tomato. perfection Their whipped coffee is wonder. Using community coffee as their staple. We got a sweet tea as well. All for the price of $33. Went for an impromptu brunch after a 8 mile walk. It was pretty crowded when i arrived and lots of people waiting. I was told the wait would be about an hour and 15 minutes but was closer to 45 minutes. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a biscuit .. just cause i had to taste it. Chicken and waffles was good. Chicken well seasoned and waffle cooked well. They serve guava butter on top of the chicken and that really elevates it. 4 stars Guava butter - 5 stars ... who knew guava butter was a thing and that it was so very delicious! Elevated the chicken and waffles and if i had more of it i would have not needed syrup for my waffle Biscuit- it was ok. Our group of 3 stopped here and were surprised to have found such a gem! We are not local to the area and were welcomed and seated quickly during a very busy brunch time. The server was so nice and explained the menu, her personal favorites, and specialty items to us. We got the waffle with the guava butter (AMAZING!), the pork belly Benedict, and shrimp and grits. Literally everything was delicious - perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and filling without feeling heavy. My only downside would probably be was I wish the shrimp and grits had more sauce but honestly I'll just ask for it next time. A 'little white house', this quaint restaurant gives sharing stories over brunch a unique, "at home" feeling, with friendly waitstaff who remember regulars. Daily specials make it difficult to choose an entree, but.... the chicken & churro waffles with guava butter and the pork belly benedict with avocado hollandaise *never* disappoint. Good size portions, served hot, with plenty of flavor make it difficult to put down my fork, and they're more than enough to split with a friend. Never seen anyone leave hungry, that's for sure.
