Was in town visiting my cousin and I've never been to Waffle House so decided I'd go on my trip. went to one earlier in the day in Saint Ann's which was one of the worst experiences of my life. This one that we went to for dinner was much better, much cleaner, more efficient etc. S/O to the nice women working in here who are short staffed and overworked. Wafflehouse is always amazing! The waffles are crunchy and the butter on top is always a plus. The orange juice is good it's always cold. The crunchy crisp bacon. I've been to a lot of WHs throughout the southern states so I pretty much know what I want before I sit down. Many I go to are somewhat lacking in service or just a feeling of homeliness, it's kind of like a truck stop usually. Anyhow, sometime the food isn't the best but it's usually quick and filling and that's kind of what you want on the road. Anyhow, long story short, the WHs in the O'Fallon and Wentzville area off of I-70 are probably the best I have been to. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient and the food was excellent, even by any diner standards. The hash browns were not greasy or soggy, they were crisp and delicious. The waffles were great, heck I even liked the toast with just butter. The coffee was yummy and they refilled often. So if you are looking for a quick bite off of I-70 west coming out of St Louis, I recommend the Waffle Houses in O'Fallon and Wentzville. Also the men's bathroom was spotless! My friend and I stopped in around midnight for some grub en route to North Carolina. The service at this location was very friendly. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Our waitress guided us through the ordering process...and the entire crew stopped by to perform a table touch, including the grill cook and a manager. This place has horrible customer service. I had hair in my food and showed the waitress.. she just took my plate and said nothing. I went to pay and was asked "how was it?" I said, "NOT GOOD, there was hair in my food". AGAIN.. no apology and was still charged FULL PRICE for the meal. The waitress told the cashier she thinks it's hair from a brush they use to wash dishes.. as if that makes it better. I was told yesterday that after 20+ years of doing so, they were no longer going to put my sausage in my scrambled eggs and cheese because it's not on the menu that way. So I won't be going back. Every time we go here we are treated very well. We had dinner there tonite and Nikki and Katie waited on us. They were both very friendly and the food was very good. We love coming to Waffle House because we know we will get good food for a good price and be treated well by very nice and friendly people. We noticed that Waffle House corporate has posted a sign at the front door to remind customers to be kind to the staff. Please be kind to the staff. If no other restaurant is open for some reason, like it's 3 am, GO HERE. Cheap, mediocre waffles are available 24/7. The service is not good and the food really isn't that great, but once everything else is closed it's a great place to eat. Usually very happy with Waffle House. We don't go after the bars close, we take the whole family occasionally for brunch. Of allow is not our regular WH. While being seated, waitress dropped our silverware. No big deal. The silverware she didn't drop was dirty, my teen noticed and asked forms different spoon. Order was taken and the whole time the waitress had a chronic cough. Blamed her asthma, I said after she left that it was more likely the smoking. It was obvious. Behind the counter she made a comment about her asthma and the other girl said it was the cigarettes. I laughed. As she was bringing our food, again she was coughing. Pretty damn disgusting. My over easy eggs still had part of the whites raw. Not horrible but not an over easy egg. Grits, OJ, bacon and wheat toast...NO butter. Simple and basic, right? First time, I received two eggs and one was broken. There was butter on the toast. There was butter in the grits. Second time, I received three eggs and one was broken. There was butter in the grits. They say that was the only way grits came was with butter. No, I have had grits from WH without butter. 1. And that waitress (Angie) made breakfast feel like we were in a nightclub with crazy loud music and had to scream at each other to hear anything at all! This waitress was yelling non stop about everything she was cooking and every order that came up ready which I understand is probably something they do at every waffle house but she was non-stop yelling at the top of her lungs. Our waitress first put syrup and butter on our table and the syrup had ants crawling all over the outside. It took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks. The waitress was polite here and there but she acted like she didn't care at all. After we informed her about the ants she gave us new syrup and we watched her set the other one down without cleaning it or saying a work to any of her co workers. She later on went to hand that syrup to another customer. Luckily he couldn't have sugar so she has to bring him a different syrup. I was very disgusted.
