Been here several times and every time I've enjoyed my meal. This is a no frills bar that keeps it simple. When you walk in there's a bar in the center of the room and seating along the walls/area. They have draft beers, specialty cocktails, and a full bar so there's something for everyone. They have daily specials and a straightforward menu. My only complaint would be wanting a larger variety of Irish foods but I understand for a bar you want to have a smaller menu that you do well. Reading as always is fundamental. There are numerous signs but I'm also reiterating kids are not allowed past a certain hour so if you're trying to come with kids PLEASE plan accordingly. We've had the Reuben eggrolls, corned beef burger, cheeseburger, pretzels, turkey sandwich, and the pretzels for dessert. I absolutely recommend the Reuben eggrolls, corned beef sandwich, beer cheese, and the cinnamon sugar pretzels with blueberry cheesecake dip. Was looking for a Happy Hour in O'Fallon and found the Irish Gypsy Bar and Grill. O'Fallon has a few pubs in town and what better way than to start with this one. Irish Gypsy has all the sports decor one can look for, plenty of TVs, bar games and of our course bar food. Stopped in for Friday Happy Hour and took a seat at the before the 5pm rush hit. Enjoy a few appetizers on the HH menu as well as one of the draft beers. Took advantage of their entree menu and tried a few signature sandwiches. Not bad and did compliment our experience. Service was awesome and a very popular place for HHs, so get there early. Great time and highly recommend. read more

I was denied carry out service because they were in their dinner rush. I had just gotten out of work and didn't want to spend time in a noisy bar with rude strangers. I spoke with server's and requested a menu to make sure I could order? I placed my order and was quickly informed that the COOK was denying anyone service who wanted carry out. DELISH. Went for the first time after a round of golf at Turtle Ridge. The Ruben egg rolls are surprising and RECOMMEND. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the chips are homemade. What a delightful surprise it was to dine here. It started off with a friendly welcome and a warm smile. Our server helped me whittle down my lunch selection to fit my food restrictions . We have tried to eat in here several times but it is always packed which is a good sign. So I decided to order carryout. First, the girl who took my order (I think her name was Dani?) was fabulous. Couldn't have been friendlier and was definitely into sales as she asked if I needed several add-ons. The owners should be thrilled because normally when you order carryout, your lucky if a person is even interested in taking an order. The terrific service continued with her through the entire pickup experience. Great job!! The food was great, hot and delicious. We will definitely be back either to eat in or more carryout. Some co workers and I came in for a quick lunch on a Friday. The place was busy but the service was still good. We were able to get our food and check in a timely manner to get back to school. This time I got the Rueben egg rolls. The Rueben rolls were okay. They did not have a lot of flavor and it mostly just tasted like fried dough. This wasn't necessarily bad I just wish there was another flavor I could have tasted. read more

We had not eaten here before. We decided to order take out and boy were we mistaken... we should've eaten in! This place is amazing; the atmosphere, the staff, the FOOD. The food could be categorized as bar food but is elevated, comfort bar food. We could not have been happier! Nothing was frozen. It was all fresh mad and delicious! I have to say, the Irish Gypsy serves up some fantastic bar food. They really go the extra mile to make the dishes more interesting. The pretzel with beer cheese sauce was amazing; the outside had a perfect crunch, while the inside was nice and soft. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, but I'm definitely going to try the fried bologna sandwich on my next visit. For my side, I chose a salad, and it really stood out with its delicious Italian dressing. I'm not sure if they make it in-house, but it was excellent. I'll definitely be back, as there are so many items I still want to try, like the Reuben egg rolls and some of the soups! read more

It is sad that a business would consider themselves a neighborhood establishment and exclude under 21 starting at 6:00 p.m. I would love to bring my teenagers here as a family for their food. We had been here in its prior life and did not return , but let me be clear. New restaurant, new owners, new design. My wife ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered the steak sandwich. While there were a few hiccups with the cheeseburger, the owner took full responsibility and took it off our bill and made her a perfect burger which we loved. I was just powering through on a cross-country trip and happened upon this place. It's got a great character about it.
