Thanks to a highway sign on U.S. 60 my brother and I stopped at this Waffle House for a late breakfast. This is a compact location where most seating is at a lunchcounter, but we got one of the few booths. The service was quick and polite. We both had the waffle breakfast with two eggs, toast, bacon and a large blueberry waffle. The food was served quickly and was mostly good. The two over-easy eggs were a bit to runny for my taste, so the waitress gave us a $3 discount on the bill. This is a good place to eat when you are on the go in the East Valley of Phoenix. read more

Didn't expect much, my first time trying Waffle House out. Food was great, I ordered the two egg combo and got raisin toast with it. The order also came with hash browns. The portion was a little too filling for me but I just couldn't help myself to finish the meal. I'm not a fan of their biscuits so I would keep clear of those next time I order. One thing I noticed was their ice water cups were clean and made me feel safe drinking from the glass( even during a health pandemic). read more

Been to this location at least 3 previous times (in the morning) with no issues at all. This time...Sat at the bar (first time) because they closed off the left side of the restaurant (9pm). Was going ok, until the waitress dropped a plate in the sink filled with water and it splashed up and into our drinks. She saw it, apologized and joked it was clean water. We're pretty easy going but we're amazed she didn't offer us new drinks, so we asked. Then our food came...and she did it again. This time it splashed onto our food (just the corner of our plates, but enough to see the soap bubbles on our food). Luckily we were pretty much done (def done after that) eating. Employees were talking with each other versus checking for refills (we had to ask both times after all cups were empty of water and coffee for at least 5 min). I've eaten here three times this trip (so far) and all three have been good. Plus I've eaten here on previous trips at least a coupla times. I've had breakfasts, steak and eggs, chili, and pork chops with eggs most notably. See photos of all. Surprisingly, the only thing that was a disappointment was the waffle, a bit incongruous considering their name and assumably their claim to fame is the waffle. Most places would be $10 and up for steak or pork chops. Here it's closer to $8, depending on the size you get. Both were perfectly good. And there just aren't a lot of places that offer grits. They do and they're good. So are the biscuits and gravy, Texas Toast and chili. The service has always been good and even the cooks are friendly. It's clean and the tabletops aren't sticky, no easy task to clean considering the amount of syrup that passes over these tables. This is one of those chains I make an exception for because they are reasonable, have good food, and are pretty consistant. Since there are none in San Diego, I will continue to enjoy this one on my trips to the Mesa, Az area. read more

The waffles were absolutely scrumptious, especially the chocolate chip. Madi also answered all my questions relating to the cultural origins of breads. She also checked up on us constantly. I recently went to this location due to my local place being closed due to the virus. Waffle houses are pretty standard across the board when it comes to decor and the food options available. This will be based off of service, speed, and overall visit! Customer Service: I feel so bad for the waitress that was working that day! She was all alone, apparently someone called out that day. The restaurant had many seats closed due to social distancing, but she still had to service the whole floor. So kudos to her! She was friendly, prompt, and did everything I could ask for! Food: The food came out fresh, hot, and fast! I was honestly shocked by how fast the food came out, but the short order cook was right on point ready to go. Almost like he knew what I was gonna order! Overall: This was a great visit at this Waffle House, I just wish it was closer. I hate driving so far for good food haha. read more

The service here is terrible. We were left waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. Staff stopped what they were doing to take money from customers that were already done but no one could take the time to clean off a table & get us seated. It was so unorganized. Everyone was doing the same thing. No guidance or leadership displayed. And the restaurant was not busy. We like the food here but it's not worth the terrible service. Been to this particular location multiple times. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I feel like the atmosphere at this location with both the staff and the patrons is just right. The staff is chatty enough to keep the place from being boring and the patrons aren't too weird. It's one of the few locations that will have strawberries instead of candied strawberries for your waffles. I did have one less-than-positive experience. I asked for an chicken salad with an egg on top. For that egg, I'd been charged something like an extra $0.50-something cents in the past, but this time it was around $2.60. Turns out that the add-on is around $0.50 cents, but a single egg is $2.60-something. So there's a lifehack tip for ya: ask for an egg as an add-on and confirm it's not $2.60. My salad came up to $10+ which made me feel like I should have went to IHOP. But then again, who orders a salad at Waffle House? My own fault. If you're not coming for the waffles, get the All-Star meal with grits or a triple-order of hash browns. It'll fill you up good. read more

I've never been to a waffle house. We walked in, and it was super busy. We were the 3rd group waiting. These 2 ladies walked in and just sat themselves. Yes, I was irritated because we've been waiting for at least 15 minutes, and they came in and just took our table. Then we got sat around 5 minutes after. Then we waited another 10 minutes.. Waffle houses!! What an incredible invention! My boyfriend took me here for breakfast and it was love at first BITE since then! Let's start by saying that I so much appreciate their work hours: open 24/7!! So if you feel like having some fresh scrumptious eggs at 3 am, you can have them here. I recommend the cheese n eggs. They are literally buttery and very cheesy scrambled eggs that will melt in your mouth. They have the choice of bacon or sausage, grits, tomatoes or hash browns, and choice of toast! Go with the raisin toast and spread some apple butter on it. You won't regret it, I promise. Can't wait to try other dishes! Although be aware that those eggs will become a chronic addiction...they're SO GOOD!! I also like the coffee there, obviously for unlimited refills. My bf and I came here an hour before a big exam I had to take to make sure I had food in my stomach. We were thrilled that this was located close to the testing center and the hotel we were staying at. However, we were upset at the quality of the food. The service was good our server kept checking in on us to make sure that we were okay. I ordered the all-star breakfast and chose chocolate chip waffles, hashbrowns, sunny side up eggs, toast, and sausage. My bf ordered the double waffles original with grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. He enjoyed his meal but was not a fan of the bacon. It was too crispy for him. I did not like my sausage. I also ordered a glass of orange juice thinking it would be fresh-squeezed orange juice but it was not. It was minute made concentrated juice. Pretty disappointed about that. We both enjoyed the price of our meal it was very affordable but was not a huge fan. The chocolate chip waffle was not what I was expecting. I assumed that the waffle would be cooked in the waffles but it was not, it poured on top of the waffles. We vowed to not come back during our trip here. It's only $4... and it's a lot of food with ham, gravy, chili, potatoes, jalapenos, mushrooms, etc. Probably not the healthiest food but you can't have everything. The menu has a good variety from burgers to waffles to pancakes to steak and eggs and a lot of stuff that you would expect for breakfast and lunch. And this place opens late! I never in a million years would have guessed that the best service I'd get in I can't even tell you how long would have come from the Waffle House at 2 A.M. after my friends had been out drinking and partying. The wait staff and cooks in the food service industry are at an all time low. They act put out by you just showing up. Your order is always wrong without fail. They never come around to check on you or refill your drinks. Then they expect to get tipped at a minimum almost a quarter of the bill. Half the time you have to track someone down at the end of your meal to even get your bill. We had the exact opposite of that on Saturday early in the morning. I believe Eli was the name of our server if my memory is correct. They were a little on the busy side but our order was taken immediately. Everything was absolutely 100% correct even though we made lots of special request. We had hot food sitting on our table in under 5 minutes! My mind was blown. Our glasses never went empty. Everything we asked for we got just as we asked for. Not kidding when I say that was the most attentive a server has ever been that I can recall in my entire lifetime. It was literally the best restaurant experience I've had in years and years and to think I've wasted money on super nice restaurants to not even get a fraction of the experience! 2nd time at a Waffle House. I likely won't be back. After we got our food, I opted to pay right away so the server didn't have to come back to us because I noticed it getting busy. She took my card, cashed me out, and stood over me as I ate waiting for me to sign the receipt. It was awkward. Super awkward. I thought maybe it was the end of her shift and needed to count tips but she took a table immediately after making me feel weird. I didn't finish my food. I just left. She wasn't very kind to begin with, which is fine, but to stand there while I eat until I sign the receipt when I didn't even have to cash out with you yet is ridiculous. Place is trash. Sat there for about 22 minutes before we gave up and left. At minute 17 we finally got a fork placed in front of us but that was the extent of our service. They weren't particularly busy and half of the staff were just standing around most of the time.
