The salsa was perfect for it & paired great with the pickled onions. Those pancakes were huge! They were nice and fluffy and definitely very filling. The best coffee latte was very good and I had a regular latte. They don't have sugar-free syrup, but it was fine with sugar packets. I hadn't been to Mimi's Cafe in years, but since it's always been one of my mom's favorite spots, we decided to stop in for Sunday brunch. It wasn't too crowded, and we were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which was definitely a plus. My mom ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and had no complaints. I kept it simple with French toast and bacon. We both just had water. Overall, the food was just okay. Nothing was bad, but for a basic brunch for two with water, our bill was over $40, and I honestly didn't feel like it was worth the price. I've always had a soft spot for Mimi's Cafe, and this visit reminded me why. The food was genuinely good across the board. The waffles were perfectly golden, the croissant breakfast sandwich was flaky and buttery with plenty of bacon and melty cheese, the breakfast potatoes had a great crisp, and even the scrambled eggs were fluffy. I also loved that my hot tea came in its own little teapot. It's a small touch, but it made the experience feel a little more special. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because service moved a bit slower than expected, and a few things could've been cleaner. The table could have used a better wipe down, and there were a couple of little details that took away from an otherwise cozy experience. One thing I forgot to mention in my original review: the French Toast Monte Cristo is no longer on the menu, but when my husband asked about it, Tawny went above and beyond and checked with the kitchen. I have lived and shopped in the same area as this restaurant for many years but never stopped in. After having breakfast here recently I am wondering why I never stopped in. The breakfast here was AMAZING! The hash actually had chunks of meat in it instead of just being straight up mashed meat. The croissant was warm and buttery. Didn't even need the butter it came with. The potatoes were cooked to perfection and the eggs were spot on to my requested preparation style. Went here for my wife's birthday dinner last night, and I wasn't expecting much because I have never been impressed with this place. As we walked in the door I smelled a strong smell of liquid smoke. I should have paid attention to that more, because I hate liquid smoke flavor. My mom had a cheeseburger and Fry's, my wife had their seasonal vegetable quiche, and I had the ribeye dinner. The cheeseburger looked good, and the shoestring frys were decent. My wife liked the quiche she had, but to me it looked like it came from the frozen food section in the store. My steak was the worst steak I have ever had eating out. The steak tasted like it was soaked in liquid smoke flavor for hours before they cooked it. I ordered it rare to medium rare and it wasn't overcooked really, but it didn't have time to burn off any of the fake liquid smoke flavor. The other issue with my dinner was that they don't serve baked potatoes here at all, and I didn't want frys or mashed potatoes so I ordered the fried breakfast potatoes. They came out very dark brown and almost black looking, but the inside was still hard and not cooked well on many of them. I will give them credit for the garlic spinach. It was a small serving, but it had a good amount of garlic in it. Another stranger thing I noticed on the menu was that the ribeye costs almost $2 more if you order steak and eggs, but the ny strip is almost $2 cheaper with steak and eggs. WTF? I wouldn't suggest ordering ANY steak here ever! I'm sticking to my 20+ year opinion of this place. It's WAY OVERRATED! The almost $100 bill with the 18% tip was ridiculous for the quality of food we received. The service was decent, but the place is LONG OVERDUE for a makeover, or at least a good cleaning. The finish on the table we sat at was worn off in long sections, and the raw wood doesn't clean very well. I could see into the kitchen, and there was a big section of the ceiling that appeared water damaged. I bet they'd fail a health inspection. read more

I've driven by this place so many times and finally decided to stop in on a Saturday afternoon. The decor is very cute and gives fall vibes, which I loved. We typically don't do appetizers anymore but decided to give the wings a shot since we didn't expect to see them on the menu. They were cooked to perfection and the sauce wasn't super spicy so I was able to enjoy a couple as well. My partner had the turkey club, he loved it paired with the fries & honey mustard sauce. I had the sandwich trio with the Tuna melt and caesar salad. The sandwich was more than I expected, the toast itself was cooked with parmesan cheese and that added to the melty warmth of the tuna. First, I just want to mention it was Mother's Day brunch so of course it's gonna be crazy busy. I just wanna explain what happened hoping that management might make some changes for the future. It did kind of sour the experience taking my mom here when we had a reservation, and it took almost an hour to get seated after our reservation time. The hostesses seemed very confused and kept talking to each other and trying to figure out what to do. They kept saying we were up next and showed us on the list but then they would seat four or five more people until we go back and ask again what happened and they'd say oh, yes you're next. Went on like this for quite a while. I felt bad for the staff. They seemed unsure what to do in this situation and there were many many parties coming up to their stand yelling or getting upset saying they've been here forever. It wasn't just us. The whole lobby was completely packed with people waiting and outside the front door. Obviously, with the crowd this big the kitchen was backed up about 30 minutes or more to get our food once we ordered, which was fine as our server was great and explained this to us when we sat down. Even though he was slammed, he did bring refills in a timely manner and our muffins out ahead of time to keep us from getting angry with no food lol. We didn't realize there was a tiny reduced menu for Mother's Day, and everybody was super disappointed as we all had items picked out that we wanted none of which were on the menu. We made reservations 3 days ahead and we showed up 20 minutes early, Wow people standing outside and jammed inside too. we were told about an hour wait so we settled down and started the wait it only lasted about 40 minutes. The hostess was fantastic at handling all the incoming people and the reservations. It looked like controlled chaos but she was amazing keeping things moving as smouthing as possible.
