I see Waffle Houses ... everywhere. Now, I don't mean on the West Coast, however, if you're in the South, you will see them everywhere. Anyway, I've experienced Waffle House before, but my friend hadn't. So, the one we stopped off for breakfast, on our way to ATL for my return flight back to California, was the location in Marietta, on Roswell Road. Lots of parking. Seemed odd for a location this small - walking in, there's counter seating and a few tables to the left and even less to the right. I didn't count but I wouldn't recommend this location if you're with a large group. Unless you don't mind sitting apart. Clean location. Almost had me worried because I wanted an inexpensive greasy breakfast before I flew the friendly skies. Not sure why but it helps to settle me when I'm flying. Either that, or it's the full stomach - which I planned on because I wanted to eat until I was fat and happy. The portions were generous and the prices low. If you take a look at the bowl I had, it's not a bad portion size for $6-$7. Now, it's not gourmet quality but it was filling and served hot and quick. Added a little hot sauce and I was ready to go! Service was great. I don't remember our server's name but she was all over her job. Attentive and friendly. Genuinely nice - not "I want a nice tip" nice too. Anyway, no cool stories about what I overheard or saw from others grabbing breakfast. Maybe next time, I'll hit up a location between the hours of 2AM and 6AM. I've heard that's the time for some interesting people watching.

Jonas is the best waiter. He gets our orders together and correct. He is very professional. He works late night shift so if you visit this waffle house please sit at the counter, he is the waiter there. He is very hands on to make sure his customers are taking care of. He is a very hard worker, HE NEEDS A RAISE.

Our food on both days of our visit to Marietta were very good. If the southern eggs Benedict are available on their specials board, have at it! The eggs and gravy were perfect, and the cheese grits were among the best I've had. As good as the food is, the people are outstanding. As friendly as people can be, and attentive without being any disturbance. The restaurant is spotless, and the parking is expansive. I come into town around every year or two, and this is now on my list of those places I will visit on every trip.

The Red Eyed Mule has been consistently recommended as a top-tier place to get a biscuit in the greater Atlanta area, so I figured I'd finally give it a go. I got the spicy chicken biscuit, along with another biscuit on the side with some cheesy scrambled eggs and a side of country sausage to build my own SEC biscuit. First of all, the biscuits are HUGE. They're the ultra-soft, buttery, pull-apart-but-not-in-a-flaky-way type biscuits, which I enjoy. The spicy fried chicken was good on its own, but nothing outstanding. The country sausage was good, too. Don't get me wrong--I liked everything I tried. That being said, I didn't find them to be anything that had a "wow" factor, so I am glad I ended up trying multiple items just in case I was underwhelmed. I overheard a local in line talking about their corned beef hash, which he said was not your typical dish straight out of a can and onto the flat top, which, for the record, I have no problem with. But man am I glad I gave it a go. The corned beef comes in large chunks of shredded pieces, clearly taken from a big corned beef brisket and then mixed in and cooked with small diced potatoes. This was my favorite dish, by far. I'd come back just for that. I also tried their cheese grits, which was better than usual at a diner style restaurant. The customer service was awesome, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere in general. Worth noting it backs up quickly. I got there at 9:02, 2 minutes after they opened, and there was already a line at the door. I'll be back with friends for a dish of corned beef hash and grits, and I'll probably get a biscuit on the side just to enjoy on its own or with butter and jam.

We were a group of 5 and that was pushing it so I'd definitely say no more than 5-6 people. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. Just a heads up--this restaurant seems to be dog friendly. As a dog owner myself that is something I'd like to know but I understand the hesitation when you're sitting and eating next to a dog. However, doesn't take away from the cleanliness or the service of the restaurant. We ordered the Mezze trio as an appetizer. Everyone loved the hummus however my favorite was the red beet root. I also loved that they can refill the pita bread which went by quickly. Most of the table ordered the lamb skewers which I thought was a good. I'd give it an 8/10. I thought the flavors paired nicely and it was a different taste than the skewers I've ordered before. My brother ordered the salmon and he really enjoyed that. The service was nice however it did take at least 45 minutes for us to get our food which was a bummer. Definitely could see this being a nice, chill lunch or dinner spot.

Don't park in the court parking lot it's like $20 bucks. Anywho, we came for brunch and right now they have it decked out in Harry Potter theme. Super cute!! It's def. ready for Halloween too!! I didn't get the best photos, but you must check out!! I think the menu is seasonal, but everything looked yummy!! We didn't get any appetizers on this visit, but we def. came hungry and devoured all our dishes. I think we had the French Toast, Duck Egg Benedict and Avocado Toast. It looks like it's a limited monthly menu, so it may change based on season? three of us got the burger, all agree, burger is good, the paprika aioli that came with my parm truffle fries had a bit of a kick, not heat, just a kick. my husbands Chicken dinner though? i think stole the show. it had a good flavor profile and the peanut sauce didn't kick your face in with peanut flavor. it was definitely Thai inspired, but...had a downhome kind of charm to it. Service was good, never had an empty water glass. Little bit of showmanship with the chicken dinner. our server slipped in and out to refill our waters without...being intrusive. So for what I went for? A bit of a family diner with the sister and brother in law? not the right atmosphere. it really is an amazing place to just go for cocktails I think though.

I sat outside on the patio and they put a fan on me since it was warm. Lovely seats on the lawn shaded by a large tree as well as some deck seating. They have a large menu loaded with goodies. Perfectly cooked and healthy and loaded - the hash was phenomenal. After being seated just before 3pm, it took almost an hour to even get beignets. I had to ask for water for our table because our waitress was all over the place and forgot. Our silverware had only knives (2 in one) no forks. Our orders were the simplest thing (avocado toast, eggs, bacon, coffee) and we didn't get the beignets until almost 3:45pm. It wasn't even busy the way I've seen it be on other weekends so the delay for a such a small party seemed odd. Multiple tables around us had theirs before our waitress even remembered to bring fried bread? Wild. I asked if the egg that was part of my meal was boiled, they said it was poached and surprise -- it was boiled. So they didn't know the menu. My food was obviously put together quickly (after complaining about the wait to the manager) and was so bland, I don't see the point in coming back. I know they have better dishes, but the simple ones shouldn't be that complicated. The whole situation made no sense from the beginning to end. It's ironic that the manager said we would be in great hands as we got seated, because my experience was anything but great. Two stars because they were at least polite about it, but that was ridiculous.
