Keep in mind that this is 4 stars according to the Waffle House standard! If you've ever been to a Waffle House before, you know they're in a class of their own. My visit to this location was great! The restaurant was clean, and the food was extremely good. Southern hospitality lives here, and you can feel it as soon as you walk in the door! From the friendly cooks making it a point to greet everyone, to the R & B tunes playing on the jukebox. The staff was constantly cleaning and they all wore their masks properly. I see Waffle Houses ... everywhere. Now, I don't mean on the West Coast, however, if you're in the South, you will see them everywhere. Anyway, I've experienced Waffle House before, but my friend hadn't. So, the one we stopped off for breakfast, on our way to ATL for my return flight back to California, was the location in Marietta, on Roswell Road. Lots of parking. Seemed odd for a location this small - walking in, there's counter seating and a few tables to the left and even less to the right. I didn't count but I wouldn't recommend this location if you're with a large group. Unless you don't mind sitting apart. Clean location. Almost had me worried because I wanted an inexpensive greasy breakfast before I flew the friendly skies. Not sure why but it helps to settle me when I'm flying. Either that, or it's the full stomach - which I planned on because I wanted to eat until I was fat and happy. The portions were generous and the prices low. If you take a look at the bowl I had, it's not a bad portion size for $6-$7. Now, it's not gourmet quality but it was filling and served hot and quick. Added a little hot sauce and I was ready to go! Service was great. I don't remember our server's name but she was all over her job. Attentive and friendly. Genuinely nice - not "I want a nice tip" nice too. Anyway, no cool stories about what I overheard or saw from others grabbing breakfast. Maybe next time, I'll hit up a location between the hours of 2AM and 6AM. It is a Waffle House, so I lowered my bar before I came here. This location is on Roswell road, right between BP and a car lot. It can be tricky to get into the right turn to Waffle House. I accidentally turned into the car lot and the owner jammed as many cars as possible there, it literally took us 10 minutes to get out their parking and the owner was watching every single of our moves during the entire time. Again, this is a Waffle House. We came in one morning for breakfast, and the restaurant has changed their menu. There is no 5-dollar menu any more. They still offer their dollar-menu, but it is not the same deal. I ordered their bacon egg and cheese grit ball and a coffee with hash browns on the side. They don't offer any sugar supplement here, at least when I asked for Splenda, the waiter was clueless. The bacon was super crispy, the food was very well-cooked. The cleanness of their utensils and mugs are questionable, I learned from all their locations. Menu was as greasy as always. The restroom is always like the ones in gas stations. So probably I will come back, either order to go or eat with my plastic utensils as usual. read more

Man oh man she is the BEST server we've had - especially at waho. She was quick she looked good and that personality of hers shined when she served us. We ended up tipping her almost our whole bill. Not sure why the bad reviews. First there are 2 Waffle Houses on Roswell Rd. This is the newer one by the Big Chicken. We have went there a lot and get takeout often. They have always been friendly, good service, and when we order take out it's ready in about 10 minutes! Food has always been hot and good. Tried the fiesta omelet tonight and it was good. We go to Waffle House regularly, sometime twice a week. We make it a thing to hit different ones. This one was the worst experience we've had. We ordered and the waitress called the order correctly but the cook made my wife's omelette with an extra item, made the hash browns wrong, had the wrong toast and no butter on the wrong toast. We said the hash browns and toast were wrong and they made the correct toast and started making replacement hash browns (over well) but this time neglected to put in any of the ingredients she had ordered. The replacement hash browns and toast were ready but sat by the grill until they finally brought them to us, COLD. From what we heard this cook gets complaints all the time but somehow doesn't get fired. We have scratched this store off our list. Never again for us. read more

Don't go on a Monday if Marjorie is there! When I walked in no one greeted us they just looked. I ordered and pointed what I wanted and never got my bacon so Marjorie says I was supposed to ask Dow it because she wasn't sure want I wanted she argued with me which I hate just give me my bacon! My 5 star review is comparative to Waffle Houses and diners in general, not to restaurants overall... This was, by far and away, the best experience at a Waffle House. Michelle was our server - pleasant, friendly, responsive. I'd come back just for Michelle. I really like a nice order of hash browns, well done. More often than not, places like this ignore the "well done" or "crispy" request. Not this time. The cook nailed it. Overall, I wouldn't have changed a thing for this quick breakfast. Waffles were good but the cook was NOT wearing a hair net. Everyone else was either wearing their hair up or had a hat on yet they still allowed him to cook. The only reason I stayed was bc my waiter made the waffle. Also ordered a water but it had some stuff inside it. Not sure if it was from an unclean cup or they need to change the water filter. I have given this place chance after chance to get better in service and each time I'm left disappointed. Came in tonight to eat and someone came to take or drink orders and then disappeared for about 15-20mins... still no drinks no one to take my order ...it's exhausting to come in here when it's not even busy and watch these employees chit chat amongst themselves and ignore their clients. I have been going to this location as long as they have been open. I have become close to a few people in the store. A server Susan Edwards and i had a personal disagreement which is no big deal. We dont speak. I went in for cofee this morning and she was there and refused to serve me and ran to the back. There was only one other cuztomer in the ztore. This is unacceptable and i will not only never go back to this store but maybe no other. She should be disiplined for this liss of customer. Personal issues should not affect work. I not only will not return but will write bad reviews of her and your store on many media outlets...i am a reviewer on google..yelp..and others...also am writing on facebook..instagram..and to the Marietta Daily Journel. My family and I have come to this location quite often and on a norm the service and food is awesome. But that is the only reason I've given this location a 3 star not a 1 star, it is not very often this happens. The service we had there at 11am, 12/6/2017, was much less than expected by a waitress named Pam. The beginning experience started great and went downhill when she decided to talk down to my wife, in front of my mother and child, as she was trying to give Pam her order. "I know what I'm doing. I've been doing this for over a year." And with that experience she will magically know what my wife wants. That was the first strike. Second strike, after claiming she knew what we wanted, the order was not done correctly. Peices of the order were missing. We waited to see if we would get the remainder of the order but after about 5 minutes had passed we had to get her attention and ask for the rest of our order. Third strike, after my mother had asked to speak to a manager about the first incident. We overheard her speaking to one of her coworkers about how "terrible" her customers were or how "rude" we were being. Ma'am all we wanted was to come have a family meal at one of our favorite breakfast restaurants at what we felt was one of the best locations you could go with the food we had asked for. The Manager on duty was very helpful and apologetic about the matter and even compensated for the meal (wich he most definitely did not have to do). The food at this location is still great, the atmosphere is still great, most of the staff is wonderful. It was this one experience that set it apart for me and my family. We will most likely come back, however we will be taking steps to ensure that Pam no longer poorly reflects on the location to my family. read more
