I've written 188 reviews and almost all of them are 5 stars. I go out of my way not to leave bad reviews, but this was one of the worst dining experiences my wife and I have had in years (possibly ever). My wife ordered the Crab Benedict, and it was completely unacceptable. The egg whites were slimy and undercooked, the crab cake tasted extremely fishy (borderline spoiled), and the English muffin was so hard it was inedible. She sent the entire plate back. At that point, any competent restaurant would have had a manager come to the table. That never happened. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. That's basic Hospitality Management 101, and it was completely ignored. It gets worse -- despite sending the meal back untouched, they still charged us for the home fries. She then ordered biscuits and gravy as a replacement, and that was just as bad. The biscuit was dry and hard, and the gravy tasted like it came straight out of a can. And yes -- they charged us for that too. My omelette wasn't any better. Poorly cooked, barely any ingredients, and underwhelming across the board. Charging customers for food that is sent back due to poor quality, combined with zero management presence, is unacceptable. This wasn't just a bad meal -- it was a complete failure in both food quality and basic customer service. Avoid this place if you expect even average breakfast or any level of accountability. read more

My husband and I have been going to Eggs Up Grill on Shallowford since they first opened. We are daily dinners. Whatever we order is always delicious and cooked as we ordered them. The staff is the best. We can only say good things about all of them. We always know when Chris is working because our coffee is on our table by the time we get to it, never have to wait for it if he's working. This a different review for me as I just ate the food and read quite a few reviews. I believe each of the reviews because I believe the place is in consistent. I was greeted by staff and asked if I was a doordash driver...first question! I advised that I had an online order. The person advised that he would check on my order. This was about two minutes before my estimated ready time. He came back five minutes later and asked if the name on my order was "Paul" and I said NO. Ten minutes later I grabbed the first person I found and asked about my order. He was very pleasant and told me he would check on my order. He came back a few minutes later and advised that my order was being prepared. I asked why was there a delay and he advised that they could not see online orders like other orders. He apologized for the delay. I received my food from the original staff person and he said "thank you and have a great day". The food was great. 4+ stars. The service was not the best. I will return but not sure I will order on line. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes. As for as the ambience, this is a breakfast place and has a breakfast feel. I do think I know who the rude person is that is referenced in the 1-2 star reviews. read more

I *love* their shrimp and grits bowl! So yummy! My son is a picky eater and they never give static about his pancake peccadillos. It's nice to have a breakfast joint in my neighborhood that is locally owned with delicious food and great service so I can avoid that other one around the corner (not naming names... cough cough IHOP). If I had to pick one this to improve, I would say that I wish their interior color scheme was more cozy and subdued. That bright yellow is pretty jarring. read more

Slowly easing to dining out again. This place is in Roswell shopping center. Fairly easy to find w plenty of parking. There are signs to let you know open for business. There is a hand sanitizer available when you walk in. People are social distancing within the restaurant. It was full so we sat outside on the patio. No one else was out there and nice shade. Out waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. She took our orders and made us feel welcomed. The owner brought our food out. She was welcoming as well. The shrimp and grits were seasoned nicely and a must have. You gotta order the shrimp and grits. The veggie omelette was delicious. Veggies were seasoned just right. We had water and coffee to drink. No milk alternatives if you have have milk restrictions. Take your own or drink it black. Coffee was good. Overall, this was a pleasant experience. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was pretty good. There wasn't a long wait to be seated or for the food to come out. Check it out if you haven't already. read more

It had been a few years since we last ate at eggs up Grill. We went there as a family this weekend and the service was great. Fast turnaround on the order, courteous, and check-ins while we eating. There is clearly a customer first culture being taught here. The breakfast was really good and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back soon. read more

I have been here twice. Both times there was a wait for a table. With thousands of restaurants in Atlanta, I usually don't wait. I'll just go somewhere nearby and try a restaurant another time, but before we could even think about that, they had a table for us. They turn those tables over efficiently here so even if there are a couple of parties in front of you, it's still not going to be a long time. Anyways when we got sat the first time and I saw how cheap the prices were, I just thought no way can any place serve good food at those cheap of prices. It has to be of low quality. Well, was this place ever a humbling experience. Wrong on wait times and wrong on the quality of food! I thought it was delicious. Absolutely wonderful. On my first trip here I just got a breakfast plate but on the second I got the banana foster pancakes. I obviously didn't learn from the first trip because I thought to myself, no way is a diner-type restaurant going to pull off bananas foster like anything. Welp they sure did and was it ever phenomenal. Not typically a sweet person for breakfast, but ever since I just want to go back and order the same thing again! Service is fast, cooks are good and prices are cheap, especially for how great the food is! As I live about 2 miles from here, I just can't wait to keep coming back. read more

Yeah, there's many places to go get a good breakfast in Roswell. Some well branded with unique breakfast options, but Eggs Up and particularly Chris as a server make this place a go-to. Avoid other local options--iHop and elsewhere--and stop in for some great traditional breakfast and service. read more

This place is TERRIBLE!!! The owner is an angry old man, hires 16 year olds to staff the place, food takes FOREVER to come out (how long does it take to scramble a couple of eggs and throw some grits in a bowl that have been sitting there all morning!?). Wow. I wanted to give them 5 stars. The server gets 4.5 stars. He was a bit forgetful but since we are old people and the table behind us we quite pretty young ladies, I understand. I got the breakfast with sausage biscuits, gravy, 2(2?) eggs and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were okay, the 2 eggs must have been medium or smaller eggs. The sausage was okay. Very thin patties but cooked properly. The biscuits tasted frozen before they were baked then finished on the flat top griddle. They tasted a bit off. The sausage gravy. I am not by any means a sausage gravy aficionado like the rest of my family but I do get the craving. This did not fill my need. The gravy tasted like it was poured from a can, a wee bit of sausage grease was mixed in, set under a warmer (not in the steam table) then served. My Bride sampled a small spoonful and grimaced. We like the chain and have been to other locations. Will we return here? Yes. We will give them another try. read more

My husband and I have been regulars for several years. When Jenna serves my Eggs Benedict, she'll hang back and make sure it's cooked perfectly! 98% of the time it is, and when it's not, she'll walk it back to the kitchen. She puts the whipped cream on my fruit herself because I want less than what is normal. Her attention to detail explains why she has repeat customers. . . . add to the fact that she's just so darned personable. Currently, we visit with my twin sister who has some health issues. Jenna remembers that at 88 lbs. my sis can't sit on a hard chair--we'll need a booth, and she drinks hot tea. I love the friendly neighborhood atmosphere and quiet urgency of the staff. A cute quiet place to grab a good hearty breakfast to make it through the day. Eggs Up Grill is reasonably priced and had a lot of options from waffle sandwich, to the classic omelet. The photos I uploaded were pancakes and sausage and a French toast collaboration with banana. Everything was decadent and tasted great. Service was fast and friendly, no complaints there. My favorite thing about Eggs Up is that it was quiet. Who wants to walk into a noisy diner/restaurant early in the morning? Food was good! My husband got a double waffle sandwich. Great flavors and bacon was inside the egg inside the big fluffy waffle. Very filling. I ordered the corned beef hash with sunny-side up eggs and home fries. Not my favorite. Eggs were delicious and the home fries had good flavor but I would have preferred them to be crispier. The corned beef was dry and maybe over-cooked. I will go back but will try a different dish next time. Also I will say it wasn't the most COVID-friendly environment. The wait staff was wearing masks but would often pull them down to talk with each other behind the counter. We sat at the counter and originally had a seat between us and another couple. When they left, the hostess sat another family right next to us so that we were not socially distant. Also we saw at least 2 cooks in the kitchen without masks. read more

The service was great! The food was delicious! The menu says gluten friendly and there's not a dedicated area. So I didn't trust the pancakes or anything like that but these home fries were delicious. My server Cicily was very sweet and things came out fast. This place is great. Prices are cheap, great breakfast spot with a good variety. They have build-your-own omelette, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches and other traditional breakfast options. Everything is so reasonably priced. They do not take reservations but they have a call ahead policy where they put you on a list. They definitely have a breakfast/brunch rush so be mindful of that. We decided to sit at the counter so we didn't have to wait. Our server immediately greeted us and did a great job. I got the sweet potato pecan waffle...which was DELUCIOUS. Yeah that's a step ahead from delicious. I also got the home fries and a side of turkey bacon. The home fries lacked flavor and some were a little cold in temperature when I ate them but everything else was great. The feel of he place reminds you of thumbs up cafe. This place was truly amazing! We were in town visiting family and we had a party of 11 or 12. They were so efficient in taking our order and making sure our orders were right. I also have to add that they were super friendly. The food was also amazing. I got the cheese steak omelet and the buttermilk pancakes and everything was so good.
