I finally tried Biscuits & More in Marietta, and I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this place sooner. I used to live only five minutes away years ago, and they've been here for over two decades serving incredible breakfast food. I ordered the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit and it was outstanding. The biscuit is soft, fluffy, buttery, and the chicken is tender with the egg and cheese layered perfectly. Their hash browns are cooked just right -- crispy instead of soggy, which is a big deal for me. The star for a lot of regulars is their cheese grits, and now I understand why. I'm not usually a grits person, but these were creamy, cheesy, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere. Service was excellent. Michael took care of my order and made the whole experience even better. He was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and excited for me to try them for the first time. It's always great when someone behind the counter actually cares. There's plenty of parking, it's spacious inside, and they serve both breakfast and lunch all day. If heaven were edible, these biscuits would be it! This bright, cozy diner is a little out of my own way & tucked into a small Kroger shopping center, but I came hungry and motivated by my fundraising coupon (Thank you for supporting the local schools!) Decorated in a country eatery from the 50's era, with lots of what look like family pictures and local team posters, it's a cool spot to get some work done if you need to. With lots of seating, tables outside, and some really nice people behind the counter, this place gives off "homey" feels. The ladies were super friendly when I was staring too long at the menu. One handed me the paper menu to make it a bit easier to choose from their simple but varied selection. Biscuit sandwiches, regular sandwiches with ingredients from my childhood--ham & cheese, PB&J, egg salad, pimento cheese, etc.--grits, hot dogs, and more! And the price is right on for what you get. There aren't any pork substitutes, for those of us who refrain, but they do have chicken, which you can get fried or grilled. I even got a generous sample bowl of some steaming hot cheese grits while I waited! LOVE!! I took my biscuits to go, but they smelled so good I finished one before I even got home! Unassuming. Straightforward. Good Food. We love going to BAM in those mornings where we dont want to cook, but we dont want to make a big deal of breakfast. I have bounced around on the type of biscuits I get - sausage/egg/cheese, country ham/egg, bacon/egg/cheese, chicken biscuit...My favorite is country ham and egg...YUM. We have ordered breakfast from Breakfast and More, aka "BAM", about 10 times in the last two years. It is DELICIOUS. We order through a delivery app, and it is always hot and fresh. The best part about this establishment is that it is privately/family owned, prices are incredibly reasonable, and the food is delicious and homemade. My neighbors that visit in person said the employees are welcoming, that it is a friendly casual joint. My favorite item by far are their hamburgers... yes, for breakfast, don't judge me. The burgers are hand made and the toppings (lettuce onion tomato) are crazy fresh. Per my family, the breakfast sandwiches & hashbrowns are delicious. Your classic hometown breakfast, hole-in-a-wall place. They started as a gas station food hub back in the 90s-2000s and everyone constantly craved their biscuits and cheese grits. Their menu has not drastically changed over the years, but the food is still the same mom and pop food. They are run by local high school students and they are very friendly. My family and I have eaten here for 28 years. The BEST breakfast place anywhere! They recently went under new ownership (the past 2-3 years or so) and the new owner was terrible They almost went under from mis-management. I just ate there yesterday and the original owner is at the helm and BAM is BACK! They have several time won best breakfast in Georgia! Ridiculously overpriced and my order was wrong. I asked for 2 orders of hash brown patties (which should include 4) and Chicken Tenders and Fries. I even tipped them as well. I didn't get my sauce or any fries with my meal. I spent $12.56 on the chicken tenders and fries alone and got these 3 small pieces of chicken and no fries. Not worth my time or my money. The sausage gravy on top of the biscuits with gravy does not have enough pieces of sausage. It's basically biscuit swimming in warm gravy. It reminds me a lot of Sweet Mama's on St. Simon's Island (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sweet-mamas-st-simons-2) because of its devoted local following, delicious biscuits, and casual no-frills setup inside a suburban shopping center. The business is located inside Shallowford Falls (same plaza as Kroger) at the corner of Johnson Ferry Rd and Shallowford Rd. This place is truly in the 'burbs with the closest access to Georgia 400 about 12 minutes away (Exit 7 - Holcomb Bridge Rd) and I-75 about 18 minutes away (Exit 263 - S Marietta Pkwy). The restaurant specializes in breakfast biscuits, serving over 15 varieties. The kitchen also serves up grits, bagels, muffins, cookies, cakes, sandwiches (including Southern favorites like chicken salad, egg salad, and pimento cheese), hot dogs, salads, soups, chicken tenders, burgers, and sides such as baked beans, slaw, and onion rings. Biscuits and sandwiches are no more than $3 a pop while sandwiches and burgers run about $6-7 and $5-6 each, respectively. All food, including the breakfast biscuits and grits, is available all day. Note the business hours are Tuesday thru Sunday, 6am to 3pm. I've seen Tuesday thru Friday lunch specials of 2 hot dogs, fries, and a medium drink for $5.99 and 1 hot dog, fries, and a medium drink for $3.99. You order and pay upfront. There is a single line and two registers. A line out the door on Saturday morning is the norm. I believe the restaurant opened in 2010 and underwent an expansion in late 2014/early 2015. I guesstimate the interior can hold roughly 70-80 customers (all tables). There are also five tables on the walkway patio facing the shopping center parking lot. TVs inside play sports and news. Each party is assigned a ticket number and orders are called out and brought to customers. All food is served or packed in disposable Styrofoam plates, bowls, and containers with sturdy plastic forks. If dining in, the plates and bowls are served on trays. Drinks (coffee, tea, juices, bottled products, fountain soda) are self-serve. Sometimes, the staff will walk around the restaurant to pick up trays and dispose of cleared plates. There's also a tray holder and garbage bin where you can leave trays and throw away trash on your way out. I've tried the steak and egg biscuit, chicken biscuit, sausage gravy biscuit, hash browns, and blueberry muffin. Everything has been tasty. The biscuits are terrific. I can't say I prefer one type of biscuit over another. The biscuits themselves are soft and buttery. Each bite seems more appetizing (and addictive) than the last. I especially like the crispier, saltier bits/edges of each biscuit. The steak in the steak biscuits is breaded. Both the steak and egg biscuit and the chicken biscuit are quite gratifying. In comparison to the Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit, I think Biscuits and More's version is tastier overall. There is more flavor per bite. However, you get more meat from Chick-fil-A. The biscuit in the sausage gravy biscuit is split and laid out open-faced with globs of thick, creamy, and savory sausage gravy smothered on top (Southern style). This is good comfort food. Eat it while it's hot. Two pieces of hash browns are served in a single hash brown order. They sort of look like McDonald's hash browns in terms of size, color, and texture. A little greasy, but not bad. The blueberry muffin is A-OK. The muffins are big, fresh, and moist. They are individually plastic-wrapped. Service is tip-top. Orders are taken efficiently and are brought out in a reasonable amount of time even during peak periods. They were served hot and fresh from the frier, but had been hastily drained and still had too much oil clinging to them. They would not have been greasy otherwise, as they were cooked properly. I have been to Biscuits and More (BAM) a few times over the past few years. It's a bit of a hike for me, so I usually only visit if I am in the area or happen to have a long leisurely Saturday or Sunday morning. BAM is this whole in the wall place that is always busy. Fortunately, the line moves fast so you will not have to stand in line too long before ordering. The food comes out fairly quickly once you place your order. I have tried several of their biscuits and really enjoy how buttery and flaky they are. On my most recent visit, we had a mixture of breakfast items and lunch items since I had never tried out the lunch items. We ordered a biscuit with sausage gravy, hot dog with chili and cheese, fries, garden salad and tomato sandwich. Their biscuits and sausage gravy is really good. It is probably my second favorite in town, but my favorite place for biscuits and gravy (Ugly Biscuit over in Kennesaw) recently closed so I guess by default it is my current favorite place to get biscuits and sausage gravy in town. They provide a generous amount of gravy for your biscuits and there are large chunks of sausage mixed in. The hot dog with chili and cheese was actually very good. I should have asked for some onions to go on it because that would have made it excellent! The hot dogs are just your usual run of the mill hot dogs, but this hit the spot. I was skeptical about the salad when ordering, but was pleasantly surprised when it came out. All of the items in the salad were super fresh. The tomatoes were so delicious that it made it really excited about the tomato sandwich that had not yet arrived at our table. Finally, the tomato sandwich was really good. I have been on a tomato sandwich kick ever since Garden and Gun Club opened at the Battery. They still have the best tomato sandwich in town, but this is a close second. The tomatoes were very fresh. The only odd thing was that the cashier asked if we wanted our bread toasted or not toasted. I stared at him dumbly for a second before comprehending his question. The bread should never be toasted on a tomato sandwich. The cashier chuckled when I requested no toasted bread with a horrified look on my face. He said that he grew up eating it plain like me, but there were some oddballs out there that like their bread toasted for all sandwiches. Overall, two thumbs up for breakfast and lunch items. The manager at this location not only listened to my issue. He took my order and remade the entire order and personally drove his vehicle to my home and hand delivered my food!
