***NOT BLACK-OWNED*** A friend told me that this restaurant was Black-owned, but it's not. Total bummer! I was excited to support a Black woman entrepreneur, since the landscape of Black-woman-owned franchise ownership is thin. But, oh well, it was founded by two American brothers, Kevin and Keith Mahan, and the cafe was recently sold to Denny's. Which brings me to my next point, it tastes like Denny's! That's when I discovered this was not Black-owned because the food was so basic, no soul, no flava, no trace of a Black woman made this food. I immediately pulled out my phone to look into the restaurant's history. And most of us can agree that Denny's is only good when you've been on the road for three hours, have to pee, and you're like oh-kay, "I guess I'll go in here and get something to eat before I get back on the road." Additionally, it's priced like it's something more, but it's not. Like I REALLY could have spent that $105 on my cooking, which actually slaps! Charging $5 for a potato needs to come with some onions, peppers, garlic, rosemary, or at least some salt and pepper. Sheesh. The bacon was gross, like how do you manage to make bacon gross? Well, Keke's nailed it. No flavor on anything, and by the time you finish piecing together your bland a-la-carte order, expect to pay about $22+ per person. On my last day of my visit to Atlanta, we decided to visit this breakfast place. I had been to their Nashville location last year and it was so delicious. I was glad to see there was one local to my friend. This time I got the apple cinnamon French toast with the potatoes. My friend got a pancake that was huge. You only need one. I came here with my husband for breakfast and we were so disappointed. The food was so bad neither of us finished it. I think this is the worse food I've had from a restaurant in a while. I ordered a cheese grits which was okay and stuffed turtle French toast since the server recommended it as a good representation of the restaurant. It tasted like they smeared cream cheese in between two pieces of bread and put chocolate syrup all over it. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle was hard, did not taste good, and the chicken was two dry chicken tenders. Our server also was not very attentive, did not refill our water, or check on us. We were in the area and decided to stop by for brunch. The restaurant is located in a large shopping plaza. The restaurant was bright and very clean. We were welcomed in and seated immediately. I decided on the French toast combo with bacon and potatoes. The French toast was light and fluffy and the bacon was delicious. This was our first visit to Keke's breakfast Café in Roswell. The food and service were pretty good, but the wait times were a little too long. When we entered the restaurant a little before noon on a Sunday, most of the tables were vacant. This is why we were surprised to hear that there was a 30 to 45 minute wait. We later heard the hostess explain to another customer that there were a few large parties and the kitchen couldn't handle any additional orders at this time. We ended up waiting around 30 minutes for a table. After we were seated, the server was friendly and attentive, the food was served quickly, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Based upon the taste and quality of the food, we would consider returning some time in the future. I love breakfast foods, so I was excited to see a new breakfast option pop up nearby. Hubby, on the other hand, is not big on breakfast and did not share my enthusiasm. I managed to convince him to try it anyway because I saw they have tuna on their lunch menu and he is still searching for a spot to get a good tuna sandwich. Unfortunately, he hated the tuna at Keke's, which he says is way too fishy for his liking, so his search continues. My breakfast, however, did not disappoint. I got the make your own combo with one pancake, 2 eggs, and home fries with cheddar cheese added. I also opted for an extra side of bacon because breakfast without bacon is just too sad. The food was great! The bacon was cooked to perfection with some crispiness and also some soft spots. I thought everything tasted really good. The home fries were good but I think this was thanks to the cheese as I suspect they would have been too plain without it. I am an IHOP enthusiast and whenever I try a new breakfast spot, I tend to regret not having gone to IHOP instead but that did not happen today. I don't think I can say that it's better than IHOP because I still think IHOP hash browns beat Keke's home fries and same with the pancakes, though Keke's pancake is very good. While it might not be better than IHOP in my book, it can certainly compete, which is more than I can say for any other breakfast spot I've tried. I will be back for sure! read more

Was so happy to see that KeKe's finally made it to Georgia! I'm a Florida boy so I usually make it a habit to stop by one whenever I go home, but when I found out there were two locations opening up near me I had to try it out. If you're not familiar with Keke's, I would probably recommend it to First Watch in that they have similar types of food, services, ambiance, and portion sizes. I went to the location in Roswell with a party of 6 and we were seated immediately. The waiters were extremely friendly but it did take a while for our waiter to serve us and to get our food. It was their first week open and it was clear they were still trying to get a flow to things, but me and my group were understanding. As for food, 4 of us ordered chicken and waffles, another a omelette and I ordered the stuffed French toast. I enjoyed my French toast and my friend enjoyed her omelette but our other friends weren't fans of their waffles - saying they didn't have much flavor and was a bit over cooked. Overall, I would give the experience a 3/5 but would definitely come back to give them a second try once they get a better flow on how to manage things. read more

The food was fine but tasted like it was mass produced from a Sysco delivery truck (the ham came in those small square chunks I've seen hundreds of times before). Tried KeKe's for a quick bite with my daughter and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. She ordered the kids' cheeseburger and fries--the bun was cold, which immediately took away from the meal. I ordered the BLT with onion rings. While the onion rings were actually pretty good, the sandwich itself came out with burnt toast, making it hard to enjoy. The service was mediocre at best--no warmth, no real attentiveness. On top of that, there was a gnat or fruit fly that hovered around us the entire time, which made the whole meal feel unsanitary and uncomfortable. Sadly, I won't be back. They have their own brand of coffee which was really good. Oh, and they have iced coffee with free refills! The restaurant has a clean, modern look and feel to it. When I arrived i was told my order was "5 minutes behind due to French Toast". 30 minutes later the hostess brought out my order and apologized for the delay. I left without checking the order (my fault, but I was already behind schedule) and got home to realize my turkey sausage was in turkey bacon. I discovered Kekes in the Tampa area a few years ago. Finally, they arrived in the Atlanta area! Today I ordered the three slices of Apple Cinnamon French Toast and a side of bacon. The slices were HUGE and all were covered in cinnamon apples with glaze. It came with butter on the side. The server even asked how I wanted my bacon cooked. I don't recall that happening at other restaurants! It came out crisp, as ordered. Coffee was good and refills came without request. I have a weekend breakfast rotation which Kekes just cracked. It is not easy to get into my vaunted rotation. So I will look forward to many more breakfasts at Kekes. read more

I tried Keke's in Roswell for the first time today. This location is new, in perfect condition, and clean. The atmosphere is cozy and definitely "diner." I always order the Eggs Benedict when I try a new breakfast restaurant. Keke's was delicious! IMO, they have the best Hollandaise sauce of any diner in the area. The potatoes were also tasty. My server Satawney is sweet, polite, professional, and checked on me often. My only criticisms would be ~ apply a little bit more Hollandaise sauce to the benedict and a few more potatoes as a side. In this location, you will get a lot of blue-collar and trades wokers with hearty appetites. A heartier serving of potatoes would be nice, even if you have to charge a little more for it. Keke's is a great new addition for Breakfast and Lunch in Roswell, GA. We arrived early, around 7:30 am on a weekday. Seated right away since we were one of the first customers. The Cafe was filling up when we left around 9am but still ample seating and staff. Food: Classic Combo- scrabbled, potatoes and toast. 4/5. Nothing great, just your average breakfast. I can't recall what my friend ordered but said it was good. Service was a 5/5. Staff was attentive and the food came out fast and hot. Will definitely go back and try some of their specialty dishes like the French toast and Waffle options. The lunch menu also looks good. read more

The bread was delicious but the chicken looked like the already cooked processed packaged Perdue chicken breast you can buy off the meat counter. Our server, Shandria, appeared right away, accompanied by a trainee. Upon discovering we were here for the first time, she explained their menu, answering our questions and making suggestions. Being seniors and not requiring as much food as we once did, we inquired about reduced portions and were cheerfully accommodated. We both ordered pecan pancakes with bacon, which were quickly served, and were perfect. The coffee was hot, it was good, and it was plentiful! We were seated immediately by the friendly host. Our server Kyler was also friendly & quick to our table. The menu has lots to choose from with breakfast items plus lunch starting @ 10:30 Am. Healthy items too inc. egg whites & turkey bacon. Hubby had the grilled buffalo chix wrap & I had the egg & cheese sandwich on English muffin with a side of Turkey bacon plus coffee. The coffee is ok. The breakfast sandwich was excellent scrambled with pepper jack cheese & the bacon was good too. Tried Keke's for the first time. It's new, bright and clean. Booths are high backed so it feels private when you are eating. The menu was very large with both breakfast and lunch options. The coffee was good. My husband ordered the cinnamon apple waffle with whipped cream. It had generous toppings. He was happy with it although the waffle underneath looked pale and not very crispy. I ordered eggs Benedict. The English muffin was toasted which many restaurants forget to do. The egg was cooked well. On the negatives: the Canadian bacon was small and didn't cover the muffin base. As someone else mentioned, the hollandaise was very skimpy. I asked for more and could evaluate it on its own. It was really terrible. Visually, it was grayish and unappealing. It wasn't thick but very runny. It didn't taste good either, had no discernible lemon flavor or creaminess. Not good. Additionally, I asked for fruit as a side instead of potatoes. There was a charge of $5.50 for it. Granted it was a huge portion of strawberries, bananas, grapes and blueberries. Upon questioning I was told that is the up charge and it was discounted from the usual cost of the fruit side. That's really a lot of an up charge. Half of that portion with half of the up charge would be more appropriate and more in line with other breakfast restaurants. I will go back and try some other items. I ordered and she did not listen to me but tried to get my order larger. Then when it came the French toast tasted like it was fried on a grill in rancid oil. I told the waitress. She did not offer to redo it. I ate my eggs and sausage and asked for a check. They had not removed the toast. She took a half hour in the back with the person in charge. She came to me with three different bills. I was given the two item bill and the waitress sheepishly said 'she' would have to pay for the part I did not pay. I gave her $20 and said to go to the Pancake house and learn how to waitress. I will not go back. read more

We waited 45+ minutes to be seated after being told that the wait was 20-25 minutes. After we were seated we waited another 10 minutes before we were greeted by a server. After we ordered we waited another 30+ minutes to get our food. The food could have been excellent but was mediocre because of poor execution. They put ice cold fruit on a hot waffle, which means that the waffle was cold by the time we got it. The blueberry pancakes were good. Yet again, because the berries were obviously cold when they were added, there were cold spots in the pancakes. These pancakes could have been amazing if they had just warmed the berries to room temperature before they had added them. This place could easily double their volume if they were managed effectively with adequate staff. read more
