Exploring cafes is totally my thing and we found a great one in Alpharetta! We loved everything about this cafe. The interior was adorable but what impressed us the most was their approach to coffee. We had no idea there were so many different ways to process coffee beans so we ended up looking them up while enjoying our drinks. Once we learned more about them, we were so intrigued that we actually ordered some coffee online afterward! It was easy to see why this cafe is so popular. The line kept getting longer and longer the entire time we were there. It's a fairly small cafe so seating was pretty limited as well. I ordered the Latte with Caramel Cardamom and it was delicious! My husband got the Coffee Shot of Chamomile Pink Bourbon from their "Coffee Nerd Drinks" menu. He was especially interested in it because of the brewing method. I'm usually not a black coffee drinker but I tried a sip and was surprised by how much I liked it. There were still so many drinks we wanted to try but since this was only a weekend trip, we didn't have enough time. We'll definitely be visiting again the next time we're in the area! read more

I rarely get up to Alpharetta and when I was I had to know if they played lived up to the hype. It certainly does! I usually get a vanilla latte as my litmus test but I just had to try the girls breakfast. Which was fabulous. The cinny cold foam was A+. Also the baristas were very friendly! Valor Coffee is a great little coffee spot in Downtown Alpharetta. The location of this shop is off of Milton Ave, around the corner from all the hustle and bustle of true Downtown Alpharetta - especially on Farmers Market days. The interior is the bottom level of a Thrive | Co-Working space. It is clean and sleek and offers a decent amount of interior and exterior seating. When this place gets busy, it can definitely interfere with the interior seating due to people standing in line. The exterior is dog-friendly. The coffee is awesome, and they offer seasonal specialty options and flavors which is nice. While they don't offer full breakfast options, they do offer small bites that are quite good. read more

First and foremost, EVERYONE WORKING HERE IS AN ABSOLUTE TREAT! They are so nice! They are all smiles and have actual conversations with you, which I appreciate. Second, their coffee is top notch. They gave me a sample of the popular nitro lavender oat milk latte, and wowie. It was perfectly balanced with flavors. A little sweet, creamy, and you can taste the smooth coffee. I ended up getting a nitro with the caramel cardamom flavor. I honestly couldn't taste the flavor at all. I'm not sure if they even put it in there, but the nitro by itself is very good. It's not too acidic. It's perfectly balanced and bright. It really can be enjoyed black, but as a girlie who loves a slightly sweet treat, I ended up asking for a splash of the caramel cardamom and I'm glad I did. It is my new favorite flavor. Umm, the line out the door on a Sunday raised by expectations which were then lowered once I received my beverages. I had to request more espresso in my latte, otherwise, it was tasteless. Hubby's coffee was weak too. Friendly staff, like the outdoor seating so our pups could sit with us. Seriously, the winners were the French pastries that they are selling. Kouigan -amann are my all time favorite and one of the few temptations for me to indulge in something so rich and full of butter! These were delicious as were the croissants. Super cute coffee shop in downtown Alpharetta! I visited here with my boyfriend to grab a quick coffee while we were waiting for a brunch reservation nearby. Valor isn't super big, but it was definitely a popular place with lots of people studying or hanging out. Service was quick and they had a lot of options. I got a hot chocolate while my boyfriend got a cortado. The hot chocolate was so rich and yummy and my boyfriend liked his cortado a lot as well. I feel bad leaving a two-star review, but Yelp's descriptor for two stars is "Could've been better" and that was my experience. I came here because I really wanted a good latte. I am staying at the Hamilton across the street, and although they have Illy Espresso machines in the rooms (amazing!) I wanted more. I saw that Valor is highly rated on Yelp, so although the pics show a really brightly lit and decorated coffee shop, which doesn't really scream "coffee heaven" to me, I gave it a shot. Sadly, my latte was somewhat weak, had a nutty flavour that I don't particularly like (I know some people do, so maybe it's a local preference), and most of all, lukewarm. My veggie croissant on the other hand was amazing. Fluffy and flaky, with a big sprig of broccoli inside, that met expectations. read more

This location has a disco ball in the middle-- what a vibe! Though it seems small inside, I think it can seat ~23 people. This location is located in downtown Alpharetta, so I grabbed my coffee and walked around to enjoy. Every time I visit Valor coffee shops, the staff has always been so friendly and personable. My short 2-minute interactions make me feel like I've known them for years. The drinks are always solid. I usually order a Caramel Cardamom Latte, which is a little sweet and earthy. I've also tried the Vanilla Lavender Latte, which I think was sweet and did not have an overpowering lavender taste. All of the pastries looked delicious! The energy every single employee brings to this tiny little haven goes unmatched. Every one is so lovely and inviting, and the coffee and matcha is also top quality. They always decorate for the different seasons, and also offer seasonal syrups and specialty menus. Seating is limited inside, but there is plenty of outdoor seating on a nice day. JOEY was the Crème de la crème of my visit. This was my first time at this location and he was absolutely wonderful. I happened to be in the area and had not been to Valor since they moved. It's been many years ago. I was able to find a decent parking spot just steps from Valor. Upon entering the shop to the right is a sitting area with a few tables and a bar along the wall. I also saw seating outside to the right of the entrance. To the left is the counter for ordering, pastries, the menu above and retail items. The iPad at the counter where you order that is used to show the "currently brewing" is a great idea. I ordered a cappuccino and an iced caramel cardamom latte. When I asked about the pastries Joey told me the one I was asking about was a zucchini cheese croissant. The croissant was delicious as was the coffee. It made me wonder who bakes their pastries. I chose the Summer Blend (50% Ethiopia and 50% Kenya) in my drinks. Perfect choice for the cappuccino. read more

This has been one of my favorite coffee shops to go to recently due to their variety and quality of drinks. I love that they offer a number of non-coffee drinks, including drinks made with matcha and hojicha. The espresso used in their coffee drinks is excellent, with rich and nuanced flavor that you just can't find at Starbucks. The staff is incredibly friendly. They have gone out of their way to learn my name and ensure that my drinks are made right every time. The only reason I take a star off is for the food. I love the chicken salad croissant, but just about every other pastry I've had here has been overbaked and dry, which is a shame because they offer pastries in unique flavors that I'd otherwise love. read more

Quaint spot. Great folks. I needed something that was NOT Starbucks and Yelpers said this was the way to go, and boy were they correct! It's located in a really cute area with street only parking. The place is really quaint and it was pretty packed, so it required a wait in the outdoor cold for a few moments. Once inside, the magic happened! I had the most friendly service ever. Everyone was so cheerful and just happy to help. The decor, the people, the drink options just made you feel full of holiday cheer! I was only in Alpharetta for a weekend, but anytime I go anywhere out of town I have to visit a good, local coffee shop. This is a non-negotiable. I came across Valor Coffee while searching and thought it looked cute so I decided to give it a shot. I'll be honest, I've been to many coffee shops that leave me a little disappointed but Valor is not one of those. When you walk in, you're instantly drawn to the cute aesthetic of the place. It is small, but they have a few tables, as well as fresh flowers on each, AND a disco ball on the ceiling. What's not to like? I was getting my coffee to go, but I did notice that those dining in had glass cups and ceramic coffee mugs. Not only is that great for the planet but also adds to the vibe. Ordering was such a great experienced. We asked a few questions before deciding on what we wanted and were received wonderful customer service. When the guy taking our order realized were weren't from the area, we were met with a nice convo about our travels and where we were all from, and vice versa. It was a nice change from some other coffee shops that just want to get you in and out. I ended up going with an iced vanilla lavender latte with oat milk. I loveee lavender so I was excited to see it on the menu and of course it was delicious. My only suggestion is to maybe add a sugar free option or two. I don't live nearby so I probably won't be back for a while, but I usually go for sugar free if it's offered. Visited on a Sunday @10:30am. Compared to the Dunwoody location, this location is much smaller. It's in downtown Alpharetta and surrounded by other great food options. The latte and the assortment of baked goods we ordered were great--not dried out at all! Unfortunately, they'd didn't have coconut milk as an option so my husband opted for SBs coffee. They did have oat and almond milk available as dairy substitutes. The service was warm and inviting. The music consists of soft rock and perfect background volume. Plenty of outdoor seating. When we FINALLY got our overpriced drinks they were HALF WAY FULL and that's halfway full of the equivalent of half a tall at Starbucks! Like a literal shot of expresso. I hadn't even thought about getting it Iced, because I didn't really think that was a thing with honey. They asked hot or iced and I was like oh it can be iced with honey? And they said yeah for sure! So I really appreciated them asking. I thoroughly enjoyed my iced tea :) I sat down and they brought the tea out to me and gave me the wifi password. I didn't even have to ask. They are just very attentive and overall just great service! ***FOOD*** Didn't try anything this time other than my tea but they had some pastries that looked good! ***BATHROOM*** Gender neutral and cool vibe inside haha we love a fun bathroom. Quite possibly the best experience I've had at a coffee shop, ever. The crew behind the counter was noticeably having fun at work and Ethan, at the counter, was incredibly personable. He genuinely seemed interested in why I decided to get coffee there and how my day was. This place is in a great spot with tons of shops near by, but be prepared to walk and look for parking if it is a weekend. I am so happy I found it as I do hope to go back another time I am in Alpharetta. Let's talk about vibe. First off the baristas were so nice! They let me try their matcha drink on tap, talked to me about their espresso machine (which is actually super neat and I hope to learn more about/maybe get to use one day). As for the inside, they don't have a lot of space for standing in a line, but they do have a great open space for the main espresso bar, and large seating area. The only issue we had with inside, was there was some funky smell that we could not figure out, and it didn't make us want to stay; even though the inside is inviting and a great color scheme. As for the coffee itself it was a really nicely done cortado, good enough for me to go back, as long as it isn't out of my way, even if the funky smell isn't quite gone next time. I do hope to try one of their specialty lattes when I force my boyfriend to come with me (since I don't like getting sweet drinks but he will). I think this place has a lot of potential and could be a great place to remote work. It overall has a great vibe, and cute merchandise/branding so it's worth a visit. read more

I've been here multiple times and it's always packed and there's no seating. It can get pretty crowded as there's no space to wait for drinks/order so people crowd around the bar. The chai latte is pretty good but nothing else stood out. Lavender matcha latte was not it I barely tasted the lavender. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

Love, love, love. The best coffee shop I've been to in the Atlanta area since moving here 6 months ago. The staff is amazing. They introduce themselves by name, ask yours, and spend thoughtful time conversing while you order. Joey in particular is a national treasure.
