We were here to have late night food and received just that. Don't expect great customer service here. But it is what it is. At any one point one of the staff member smoke right outside the restaurant while they watch you eat. You know. Just in case you need something. The. Can hurry up and finish their smoke break. I did pay for our party so the check splitting would not be a hassle. Good thing there was only 8 of us. The name says it all. It's good good when your drunk and leaving the bar. Which was next door. We came here because the bachelorette was hungry and already drunk. Soooooo she wanted food. So we went to the waffle. It's nothing to take home and tell everyone around. But it's food and they will serve you with a smile. The food was up fast or it seemed that way. Even for the size of our group. I stopped here because nothing else was open and I had to be on this side of town to drop off friends. The place was packed at 1 A.M. and the servers were busy. My food was so so and I had to continually as for things rather than being offered such as refills. If your driving and you need to eat something and everything else is closed and you want a place to sit down and not drive through then this is your place on this side of town. Otherwise Horseshoes is pretty close to here and I would go there before here if they are opened and still serving food. read more

Every now and then, good ol' dive food can be a good thing. Like this Waffle House, for instance. 5 stars, you ask? Absolutely. The waitresses here were better than many of those we meet in $$$$ restaurants. Prompt, more than accommodating and precise. (PS..For any of you who are foreign to "southern hospitality", women in the south use terms of endearment like we use hand sanitizer. We are not "hitting" on you. We are simply happy people and our greatest joy is making guests feel welcomed and comfortable.) Before this evening I had never eaten a Waffle House waffle warm. Tonight, it arrived before the main course, warm and cooked to perfection. Our meal came soon after and everything was exactly as we ordered, even the eggs I'm so finicky about. Our drinks stayed full and our condiments were clean and full. Upon checkout, the waitress asked if we would like to have drinks "to go". From Waffle House. I have eaten at all the waffle houses in lexington and this one is by far the worst. The service sucks. They left us sitting there for 15 minutes without even acknowledging us on 2 different occasions. They served someone else before us who came in 5 minutes after us. The second time we went our server took their "lunch break" and left 3 people unserviced in her section. As someone who has worked at waffle house, I know you don't get a lunch break. You get a break when you don't have any customers in your section. There's one server who is always complaining to her customers. Its just not a good waffle house read more

Waffle House is what it is but, for some reason, I can't seem to help getting my hopes up. I know going in the front door that I've probably set my expectations too high. Today, I convinced myself, it would be different. For the first time ever, I ordered my hash browns with a topping; "capped" and "diced", to be precise. There were so few mushrooms and tomatoes included that I first thought she forgot to add them. After picking through the hash browns for a while, I finally found some traces of those toppings. I couldn't believe I paid extra for so little an addition. I asked my son, who has more experience with WH toppings than I do, if that's what I should have expected. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Yep, pretty much." With topping names like "covered" and "smothered" and such, I had, frankly, pictured something else completely. Lesson learned. Add this to the list of historical disappointments. On this occasion, the chicken breast was delicious, very nicely cooked and tasty. Eggs, toast, and hash browns were so-so. It's not like I'll never be back. I'm sure there'll be some circumstance that makes a future visit to WH a reasonable option, but it just never turns out to be the kind of experience that makes me look forward to coming back. This jersey girl loved my 1st Waffle House experience here. And it was unexpected! My boyfriend and I drove from RI heading towards Paris, TN (with a stop in Nashville) and we stopped here for breakfast and to use the restroom. He worked at the Clarksville location so he couldn't believe I had never been to a waffle house and was very excited to show me. So delicious! He ordered my hash browns sliced diced .... and the waitress instantly knew he had worked there at some point he said it so well. I was just in heaven with the hash browns and gravy. Finally, I can give this place a fairly nice review. The best meal ever served there. The cook's name was Isaiah(first time seeing him there). The eggs(besides the tiny piece of shell I bit into,but I know the eggs are real, right?)were perfect, truly the best ever and the Pecan Waffle was perfect as was everything else including my daughter's food. The employees are friendly. I see different people every time we go. (We live in the neighborhood so we visit often). I dont know if the employees rotate restaurants or if there is a high turnover. Sometimes you can't tell whose a customer and whose an employee. There are people not in uniform who appear to be "kind of" part of the staff, talking to the other employee etc. As one reviewer wrote, employees going outside for..???? And having to be called inside when a customer comes in is odd. But, all in all this was the best experience there. Husband and I walked in, sat down, looked around, very unclean. the server informed us she would be right with us as she walked by, a few minutes later she came over and took our drink orders, then when she brought us our sweet tea (that had an odd taste to it) she ask if we were ready to order, but there was one issue, we didn't have a menu. we eventually got to order. food came, but everything was swimming in oil, I had to use napkins to wipe down my overcooked and fatty steak, my eggs were slimy with oil and only one slice of toast was buttered, the hash browns were glistening. they forgot my husband's eggs, I had to raise my hand to get the server's attention and when they finally arrived we could see puddles of oil. the server dropped the check then her and 2 out of the 3 of the other employees went outside (leaving behind several un-bussed tables). we didn't finish our late supper, because our stomachs started rolling and we began to feel ill. We were ill for several hours after we left. the restaurant was dirty, the food was so oily that oil was all we could taste, the service was inattentive to customers and the restaurant. the best thing I can say is the service was friendly-ish and the tea was at least cold. read more
