Now, is it not one of my favorite places to eat but it's it kind of fun to eat there yeah and it was especially interesting Monday night February 12, after the Mardi Gras parade. This place was packed a lot of teenagers misbehaving, but the wait staff was hanging too. We had a wonderful server named Shelly, who was very pleasant welcoming, and was dealing with the noise while giving us quality customer service. She introduced herself when she sat down at our tables and just made me smile with her hospitality. I had loaded hash browns with an over easy egg. Hmmmm! My lady commented she should wear a mask but they are so hot! Not sure how seriously they are taking cx protection. Counter had not been wiped. Grease stain was evident but there it sat waiting for next cx. Called in order and they hadn't started it when I got there. There was one family there besides me. So I was down on the bayou in the middle of the night with fellow yelpers Angelique & Joel, and someone was supercrankypants and starving and only Waffle House would do. We hit this place at just the right moment...just before all the bars closed and the crowd descended. We ordered and ate. Our server put up with our nonsense, barely. The tables were sticky, like they always are. The bathroom wasn't horrifying. Everything went along... And then we couldn't actually leave the parking lot because of the volume of folks showing up...plus y'know all the police cars. Apparently eating inside isn't allowed anymore? Yet there were people dining in but I was told "We're only serving to go orders" but the website says "dine in" ?? I'm confused here..I understand it gets busy and all but there was literally not one small smile, no greeting as I came in even worse is that I waited about 10-15 minutes all for me to be told that I can't dine in in a rather rude way. I didn't think I could feel so low as I did in that moment, so I chose not to order anything at all. It'll be a while before I even think about coming back here, I guess. I have wanted to eat breakfast at a Waffle House for many years, since seeing the movie "Tin Cup". There are no Waffle Houses in Minnesota so I had to head south. I was warmly greeted when entering the restaurant. I was offered a beverage within seconds of sitting down. The menu offers quite a few choices at reasonable prices. First of all I like Waffle House , I walked a mile from my motel to eat here so I must. The reason for the 1 star is for one old waitress that kept complaining about somebody putting dishes in the sink. She kept asking who did it , finally I told her I did it.
