We were riding around looking for local watermelon and got hungry. We like to try different places. So we stopped here. We got the Crawfish Nacho. It was very good. We both ordered the Old School Burger. It was made with REAL meat. All their food are made in house down to the pickles on the burgers. And also from the moment we walked in, everyone was super nice. It was kinda of busy so we sat at the bar. I got to try a shot of a lemon drop martini. It was so good. It tastes like a pink lemonade. The location was very easy to find the Grill. The building very modern and inside ample sitting/clean. Emma was our server. She was great and knew the specials. I decided to order the surf and turf. The meal consisted of a 6 oz rib eye with mashed potatoes and it had 5 shrimp on a skewer. I am here to tell you that the steak and mash potatoes was the best I have had in years. Food was good, service was prompt, server was very informative on specials which i got. The royal reds shrimp,i asked for them to be seasoned with the alumni spice and the jalapeño lime sauce to dip in. My daughter got the old school burger and my wife got the crawfish nachos. And my niece got the chicken tenders. Only real issue was the chicken tenders took about 5 to 8 mins after all our food came out. Which was kind of weird bc usually the kids food should come out first and it's a fried item so that also. My wife just wished the crawfish cheese sauce was more on the sauce side. It was really thick. Flavor was good, tho. Would definitely recommend. It's first visit since rebuilding. Can't wait to fo back. read more

This is such a nice little burger joint! First of all I love that they have a cauliflower burger option bc it's not often you run into many vegetarian options around here. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until after I ordered but I'm not sad I'll have to go back to try this! We started with crawfish nachos! It was more like chips with a bowl of crawfish queso I'd say but still enjoyable all the same. Nice and crispy chips with a very tasty and thick sauce with plenty of crawfish. I got a grilled Buffalo chicken sandwich with hot fries. Chicken was cooked to perfection - juicy and blackened and so much flavor. Not soggy or anything either, it was great! The fries were topped with Buffalo sauce which was so much better than I expected, melt in your mouth. And the RANCH they serve with it is amazing and compliments everything so well. Husband got the bang bang shrimp sandwich with cheese and broccoli which was great. I tried a bite and loved it! The way the shrimp was breaded was so yummy, not too battery or overpowering. I could taste the shrimp and every flavor. The bread was nice and crunchy too. Husband got a strawberry milkshake which was so nice and creamy, simple and delicious. Ended with bread pudding, it didn't look fresh as can be but I won't complain bc it was so tasty! A nice crust on the side and the sauce was delicious. We finished every last bite! Real quick late lunch , I believe we had our burgers in less then ten minutes. Fresh bun and well seasoned turkey patty , and my side brussel sprouts were delicious. The sprouts had a nice char , crispy outer leaves nice texture. read more

This place is AMAZING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Every time I come here I am never disappointed. The Cauliflower burger fried or grill is yummy. I get it every time with sweet potatoes or grilled veggies. My tastes in restaurant dining tends to be pretty high and choices locally are slim pickings. However, there's a new contender in town. This is some exciting stuff! The Alumni Grill is up and running! After a long day, my biz partner and I decided to try the new Grill located just a few minutes out of downtown Thibodaux. Since the opening, I've noticed the parking lot is always full. That can be a good sign, or people are just anxious to try the "new place". As with many Yelpers, I like to give a new place a few weeks to work out any unforeseen kinks. We invited another friend to join us and we set out on our culinary adventure. The place is simple and nicely decorated with local Nicholls State University garb. It was still early for dinner service at 6pm so we were seated right away and left with Menus. A second later, a young lady named Taylor, our server appeared. We asked what they had on Tap? she looked puzzled, she admitted she didn't know what that meant. Then we asked about the beers and she seemed a bit flustered and said she could go get the list right away. You know what? I like that. She was clearly new. She didn't know all the beers off her head yet, but she let us know right away. It's okay to be new AND in a new place to boot. After hearing our choices, she appeared in a flash with three cold beers and iced pint glasses(i hate those chunky type beer glasses, i was pleasantly surprised). She took our orders and off she went. ( a special Bravo to Taylor for handling her newbieness like a pro) What a clever presentation! Personal sized metal baking sheets lined with brown paper. The food was delicious! Cooked to perfection( I requested a medium Burger). We all shared bits and bites across the table chatting on and on about the flavors. The green sauce with the tacos is amazing, but I cant tell you what was in it (Maybe Davis J. could tell you). Another side sauce, looked like a remoulade sauce and it was, but it wasn't. Another great flavor. Not a fan of the mac n' cheese, but i believe this to be a Southern thing. It's really a baked spaghetti which is not a bad thing, but i expected elbow or penne. It's good and everyone at the table agreed unanimously. The flavor of the Jalapeno was subtle, which can be a hit or miss. A fellow Yelper saw my check in and insisted on us trying the bread pudding. We were all full I explained, but she sent me a personal text (it felt like she was there blocking the exits). We complied at her strong persuasions. Um.......she was spot on.......presentation is quite nice, four thick slices laid out and a bourbon caramel sauce puddles as it soaks in. The sauce, the sauce, the sauce...one of the best I've tried since living in Kentucky and Louisiana. It was so good that I'll leave room next time. Yes, I'll be back. Great atmosphere, great food, great service..... If your dropping your kids off to college, or you're picking them up, or your visiting our little part of the world, stop in for a bite......and get the bread pudding....or I'll come block the exits until you do. read more

I must say we were not disappointed in any angel: food; service; cleanliness; price. Between the four people, we tried turkey burger, house burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, macaroni cheese, chocolate shake, alumni seasoned fries, and onion rings. *personal thoughts: holy crap we eat a lot!* All the burgers were top notch; shake was delicious; fries were amazing; onion rings were decent; macaroni cheese could use some more flavor, I found it bit too bland. Server was super nice and helpful and even the manager stopped by to make sure all was good. So refreshing to see established businesses maintaining their standards in food quality and service. The burgers are fantastic but I'm partial to that buffalo sandwich. I've never done the milkshakes but I hear they are amazing. And best of all, they kept the food going during COVID. We went to Alumni Grill because we had a gift certificate. I checked it on Yelp, and we made the long drive from New Orleans to Thibodaux to check it out. When we pulled up, we were a little surprised that it was in a tiny metal building, nothing fancy from the outside. The inside is very clean and tastefully decorated. It is small but comfortable. It was not crowded and we were seated immediately. I have always heard if you want to see how clean the kitchen in a restaurant is, to take a look at the restrooms. These were immaculate. The service was quick, polite and efficient. The menu is pub type food. There are sandwiches, fries, soups, salads, and desserts. Calling these food items by their standard name doesn't do them justice. Each item has its own special twist that makes it almost gourmet. One daughter ordered a smoked chicken club sandwich, the other, a hamburger, I had a turkey burger, and my husband had a pulled pork sandwich. All of them were excellent. One of us got a side of macaroni and cheese that was so good it should come with a warning label. I had a water that was infused with fruit and mint that was delicious. The price was very reasonable and we all enjoyed it enough that we were ready to go back the next day! I have no complaints or criticism except that it is too far to drive without making plans! If you are in the mood for some honest to goodness good food, take a drive and try it out! read more

I passed by this little joint so many times when I should have just turned into the parking lot. The menu is short and sweet. I always get the burger. It's one of the only burgers I can get in Terrebonne or Lafourche that isn't cooked to hell and back. I'm kind of a burger purist and don't like them too fancy, although they usually have a burger of the month that looks like a fun adventure for the right patron. The natural cut fries are good, perfect amount of salt with an amazing texture. And the potato soup is absolute perfection! I've gotten Lard of the Fries once and the fries were seriously undercooked, although the pork was legit. There is a particular bartender who is an upsell artist, so watch out for her charm. But really, who is going to complain about getting talked into a delicious bread pudding? An idiot, that's who. Stop by, you'll be glad you did. read more

Great place to either go eat out with the family or to go jost with the bros. To start off, the service was at it's peak, our waitress was about as good as you can ask for and then some. The menu has a wide variety of food to choose from, from burgers to barbecue sandwiches to poboys. Started off dinner with some wings, half buffalo and half Alumni rub. Both were good, but the alumni rub definitely takes the cake in this one. The rub has a good Smokey flavor that's hard to beat, very unique. For the main dish I got the bang bang shrimp poboy with onion rings. Very good meal in all. The shrimp were the bomb.com, the onion rings were great (ask for Alumni Sauce), and the bread was soft (honestly could've been toasted a slight bit, but other than that the meal was perfect as you can ask. Alumni grill is an unusual establishment in this area, in a good way. In a town which should have a wide variety of restaurants serving home cooked comfort foods, the reality is a slew of mexican, chinese and subpar chain restaurants. At Alumni, the food is seemingly homemade and served with southern hospitality. Their only downfalls may be the fact they are a few minutes outside the main shopping/dining area of thibodaux and the burgers tend to be slightly over temp.
