Nice atmosphere, but I purchased 2 'to go" plates and me neither my aunt enjoyed the food. The food tasted like it had been sitting there hours and we ended up throwing it away for fear of getting sick. Who has money to throw away? First and last time visiting this restaurant for us. read more

I was impressed with the food here. There are multiple options for Chinese chicken. My favorites were chicken on a stick, beef and broccoli, general Tso chicken, egg rolls, & potatoes. They also have sushi and hibachi options. Service was good. They have a separate room for large tables. Lots of seating room overall. Would come here again. I have always had a good experience eating here at Lins. It's a big space and the layout is eye pleasing, absolutely no way to feel claustrophobic. The buffet is constantly being refilled so you don't have to worry about a specific food running out. Good to note that there is more than just Chinese food being served, there is pizza and fried chicken just incase you have picky littles. When me and my son first walked in and until we were escorted to the table, the short haired lady at the reception was on the phone the entire time. I wanted to know the price, she was extremely rude yelling at me. I wanted to clarify if this price is for one adult, one teenager. She became upset thinking that I was not going to pay. Then rudely asked us what drinks we wanted. Then we ate the foods - there were limited selections. Most of the main dish were very salty and did not taste very well. The desserts were bland. We were craving Chinese & of course I turned to Yelp to find a restaurant. Thibodeaux doesn't have too many good options so by process of elimination, we ended up at Lin's. The restaurant is quite large & well lit with plenty of seating. Most of the food was hot & tasted fresh , except the fried items. We asked our waitress for some fresh crab rangoons & spring rolls to be put on the buffet. Instead, she brought some to our table. Nice touch, but the ones on the buffet were still in desperate need of replacing. The sushi rolls were very fresh & tasty. I asked the sushi chef while he was making rolls, if he could please make me 4 salmon nigiri. All he did was smile & laugh. So I asked again. Same response, so I assume he didn't speak any English. I ended up just grabbing a few more pieces of some rolls. My wife grabbed a few items for dessert, one being a square of coconut cake. You know the one I mean, the kind that's on virtually every Chinese buffet. She held it up & pulled what she thought was a hair out of the icing. We immediately flagged down our waitress. She pulled it out the icing and pulled it apart several times. She kept saying it wasn't a hair & they don't make the cake at the restaurant so it can't be a hair. I said Well either it's a hair from pretty much anyone who was near the cake at any point in time or maybe it's actually from the coconut. Loved this place! The cleanliness of the buffet and seating areas was the best I've ever seen. We got there an hour before they closed and the food wasn't fresh but it was kept warm enough, we very much enjoyed our food. Quite possibly the most interesting "chinese" buffet I've been to, but in the way that says "Allllllright! I'll be back, or at least I would if I lived here." Lin's has your classic chinese buffet- fusion style with Louisiana cajun, and mongolian barbeque. An odd mix, but pretty dang good. Half of it is raw meat you choose with veggies and noodles, and they'll cook it for you sorta like a hibachi, the other half is a regular buffet with mostly chinese dishes, and a lotta shrimp. Try the fried biscuit, freakin' tasty. Overall, it doesn't compare to nyc takeout, but I was pretty impressed for a chinese place on the bayou. read more

I can't even believe I'm writing this review since I am a weirdo about buffets and I avoid them like the plague, but hubby dragged me here once (despite my protests). I would actually be happy to go back, so I feel it deserves a nod. My jaw dropped walking in, as it seems far larger on the inside than it should be. The high ceilings and clean uncluttered floor were working some magic. The buffet was clean, tidy, and steaming with hot (not just warm) options. The variety was pretty ridiculous and I actually made two trips up to try everything. The Mongolian grill was easily my favorite station. I also couldn't believe how fresh everything tasted, not all salty and mushy. There was a fair amount of non-Asian food as well, which was also impressive, rather than just being an afterthought. The corn fritters might be the best I've ever had. EVER. They were perfectly crispy on the outside with perfectly warm and creamy centers. I am pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this establishment. Will be back again, for sure! read more

I ordered online and when, I arrived to pick up the food..... I was advised the bill was a dollar more on the on the Restaurant's register. I brought it up to the Manager named Lindaand she claimed the prices had change. I advised her it was no fault of mine and I felt she needed to sell the food at the online price. She replied she didn't think so. I advised her that's what usually happens. I then told her she sells me, my food at the online price or she can keep the food. She said no and grabbed the food and stormed off to the kitchen. I then used some choice words and advised her the $1.00 cost her a customer and hopefully this message can let others know how Linda runs her business, she was rude. I drive 30 minutes every Friday for Lin's. My kids love(The only place they eat a lot). The Chinese food on the buffet is as as good as most dine in Chinese restaurants. They didn't have quite as many chicken dishes as I usually like to eat on a buffet, but beggars can't be choosers. As far as Chinese buffets go, Lins is as good as its going to get. There is a made to order grill station with lots of fresh options to choose from. My kids love this place probably because of Asian dishes such as soft serve ice cream, jello, and beignets covered in powdered sugar. read more

As far as Chinese Buffets go this is one of the best I have been to. They have a Mongolian grill, which has a wide selection, along with sushi. Our kids love that they offer some American foods too like pizza and fries. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. read more
