We don't eat out or get take out much anymore, but when we do, We Love Our Hong Kong dishes. We usually get a couple of dinners for take out and there's definitely enough food for the 2 of us for a couple of meals. It is definitely as good as any Chinese food anywhere around and we're always very happy with our choices. It's a real nice quiet atmosphere to eat at, always very pleasant. Ok Chinese food. However, haven't found any other Chinese restaurants in the area that offer better. So it's certainly better than nothing, although it's over priced for the quality and portions. Be careful of up-changes without being informed. I ordered the Todd's special without having any knowledge of what it was. I was feeling a bit adventurous and wanted to try something new. The online menu only has dish names, but no descriptions. I had tried other things on the menu, but was always curious as to what all these "specials" are about - they have the Bubba's Special, the John's Special, and the Todd's Special, all with no descriptions. Todd must be a smart guy, because this dish is awesome! It's basically chicken-on-a-stick with some sauteed cabbage (with a little crunch), a couple fried wantons, egg roll, and rice. The lunches and Chinese family dinners are always more than enough food, but the Special Family Dinners come with even more, and even if you're picking up, come with soup. Today I visited this restaurant and was very disappointed in the quality and the horrible customer service. I ordered a dish that I had ordered from many chinese restaurants across the US and its had always been delicious. They brought out this plate of nasty looking food with old vegetables and meat. It was totally unrecognizable from what I ordered. I even had to ask "What is this"! I took one bite and it was disgusting! I asked for a substitution or for it to be taken off the bill since I only ate one bite. They refused to sub it or remove from the bill and simply said "You ordered it so you have to pay for it". I took it up with the manager and got the same response. I then cancelled the to go order that I had intended to bring home and left. HORRIBLE SERVICE... It makes no sense that they could not sub it out especially since I made a large to go order. They charged me for my dish and lost three times what my dish cost when I cancelled the to- go order plus they lost a good customer because I will never go there again! read more

I started off with some "corn and chicken soup" which was nothing but canned corn with bland, dry, overcooked chicken pieces in it. Then I moved on to some cream cheese wontons and shrimp toast both of which tasted like nothing but old grease that hasn't been changed in days if not weeks. I figured everyone has a bad day now and then and I withheld judgment until the General Chicken entree came out. It also tasted like old grease and the sauce was bland and had a terrible aftertaste. The rice was too pitiful for words. I ate two bites of each and sent the whole thing back. The manager/cook came out and immediately started chewing me out for not liking her food before I could even say a single word. If you have ever seen the "Amy's Baking Company" episode of Kitchen Nightmares, you will have an idea of what this experience was like. She argued with me, refused to refund my money for food I didn't even eat, and made some truly bizarre comments which I would love to share with you all but this review would be way too long if I did. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will never be back. If she would have kept the attitude in check and refunded even a portion of my wasted money, I might have given them a second chance later. The waitress was very nice, however. I have been a customer of Wayna's for 25 years now. You won't find a buffet here! The menu has a nice selection, and they will adjust your entree to your liking. She remembers her customers and what they like, and it's obvious that her customers like her very much! This is the best Chinese in Houma. And it's not a buffet so everything is made FRESH, yay :) The staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. They even will make off menu items if they have the ingredients - for example I'm a vegetarian and even though they don't have tofu on the menu, they'll make it for me if they have it. If you're dining in and looking for "ambiance" there isn't much but the food makes up for it. My husband and I love this place and eat there once a week. read more

I have gotten a bad pizza a couple of times, and if you let them know right away, they make it right for you. Even McDonalds will replace a meal if you are not satisfied. Not this place... I was put on the phone with, I guess the owner. She said you get nothing! No refund, no exchange!. To me this is bad business, and I won't go back or recommend that anyone else go there. She only said that in 20 yrs. no one else ever complained. Well now someone has, and she doesn't care to turn my bad experience into a good one. I work in a restaurant very close to them, and if we get a dissatisfied guest, for any reason, we are determined to make you a happy guest, one that will return.
