Smothered shrimp over rice, seasoned green beans and potato salad. $15

The food was very good as well as the service. The Clint burger ($12) iis very filling and his gumbo with potato salad ($15) was spicy and tasty. Always go for the specials! I've also had the shrimp ettouffee with fried fish and potato salad ($18). Very filling and tasty of good Cajun cooking. We will always come back!

First time visit. Visiting Morgan City to see family. Heard great things about this place. Food was delicious. I ordered catfish and shrimp fried rice and sweet peas A nice size portion.

If you are looking for GOOD South LA cooking where the locals go,and know about then you need to head here. Run now by Rita Mae s daughter she has kept her mom's recipes in tact and boy are they good! It might not look like much from the outside but rally aren't those usually the best places. They have several lunch plate specials and a pretty extensive menu. I ordered the special and it was just what I needed. Freshly fried shrimp po boy perfectly "dressed" on a pillowy Hogie roll and the seafood gumbo was perfecy spiced and chock full of seafood. The hubs got a gorgeous fried catfish lunch plate with a side of hemade potato salad and some of the best lima beans (bacon for the win) I had seen pictures of the sweet potato pie and knew I needed one before I left. Mark begrudgingly split one with me and I can't say I have tasted anything like it. Made with love (And a lot of secret ingredients) it was worth the wait. They take cash or card. It's a small restaurant and time moves a bit slower so sit down and relax. Definitely a must stop when in the area

Our wonderful server Haily greeted us and got our drink orders while we looked over the menu and daily specials. We decided to share a roast beef poboy minus the veggie toppings and the shrimp stew lunch special served with white rice and (bland) can corn with a slice of crusty french bread and vegetable oil spread. The roast beef poboy was ginormous and filled with a mountain of tender roast beef and gravy the gravy was a little starchy as was the shrimp stew almost like they use a jar or powdered gravy instead of a homemade roux starter which was a little disappointing I would think everything would be homemade in this little hometown restaurant- nothing bad here by any means but just a little effort would be a game changer in my opinion. All in all we had a good experience and great service and the prices are very very reasonable, if I was a local I would definitely return as for me I'd probably explore the area a little more, my review doesn't come from a total outsider I was born and raised in Louisiana so I've been eating this style of food my entire life - just saying...
