Nice little joint! I stopped for Diesel and saw the sign that touted "King of Catfish" (or something close to that) And I thought, "How do you *not* test that assertion?" So I ordered the Catfish po'boy and was not disappointed. The catfish was flaky and lightly breaded, and the bread (which really is the backbone of the po'boy!) was perfect: crunchy but soft the way it should be. The prices are reasonable, and they've got both dine-in and carry-out service. The staff was awesome; made me feel like I've been a regular here for years. Kind of off the beaten path, but any time coming or going from Grand Isle, this is a must-stop.

Shrimp and fried green tomato - substituted the shrimp for chicken

Just ate here recently and the food was so yummy! I honestly wasn't expecting much just going by the name. I've been to the regular Spahrs restaurant so kind of figured this one would be a microwave version if I'm being honest. I was soooo wrong. I had the shrimp poboy with fried green tomatoes BUT I substituted the shrimp for grilled chicken. I also added cheese. SO. GOOD. Melt in your mouth. I finished the whole thing. My husband got crawfish stew with potato salad and cleaned his bowl out. I tried some and it was really yummy. Also didn't skimp on the crawfish which was awesome. It also came with fried fish which was great! We started with the crawfish bread which we've had before and it didn't disappoint. Forgot to take a pic of this but definitely recommend it. So enjoyable! Also really awesome staff! We'll be back for sure!

I really don't know what all the fuss is about with this place. There's a decent amount of seating I guess, like 5-6 chairs at the bar. I understand this is at a gas station so it's acceptable, the service is good and friendly I can say. To start, the onion sticks are phenomenal, but that's where it all goes downhill. The fried shrimp isn't bad but not the best, the gumbo is probably the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. It doesn't even look bad at all it actually looks like I would like it, but sheesh it tastes awful. The crawfish bread (that came with the sampler) is alright, I didn't care for the flavor of the sauce but this is all just my opinions, I suggest you go get your own. I paid $70 something for a catfish poboy, the sampler, bowl of gumbo, and shrimp platter. I was expecting it to be more but I can't complain about that.

Outstanding breakfast particularly given that it's in a gas station. So much available seating and so many employees, absolutely no waiting. Aforementioned employees are friendly and kind. Appreciate knowing there were a couple of vegetarian options. My veggie omelette was loaded with veggies and my husband's pain perdu was equally tasty. Neither breakfast was remotely healthy being prepared the way they were but they were good, as was the biscuit. The place was clean and there's easy parking.

Shrimp platter. Jumbo shrimp, with a lemon, toast, and fries

This place is amazing, Good service, very clean and nice music selections, Only thing that I would like to improve is the wait time. For our order it took over 15 minutes to get to us. I ordered a jumbo shrimp platter and my friend ordered the jumbo crab cakes Great food, the shrimp platter is amazing, highly recommend. 5 stars!! And one more thing, the fries, are, BUSSIN.

Sriracha shrimp...very tasty and delicious!

Good service, personable and food is fantastic! Lots of seafood options with a flavorful flair!

The $107 bill I had was hilarious. They've gone to complete shit. The food and its portions, the service and wait times.

The food is always good here. Not on menu but I order a biscuit with crawfish cream sauce on top instead of country gravy.

Wow so much to say! This place is such a gem on the bayou…read more The food is true, authentic Cajun food. My husband has lived on the bayou his entire life and said this is a the only place around here that sticks to its roots. Good, home cooking. No twists and extra things to try and elevate it. It stands all on its own! The decor is so cute! Cajun, down the bayou phrases and photos. Clean! Also plays Cajun music so it really sets up the whole vibe. Okay, the FOOD! We started with the shrimp boulettes, mushroom and Brie soup, and the corn bisque. SO GOOD. Seasoned so well which so many restaurants lack these days!! The boulettes were fried perfectly, not soggy or over greased. For entrees my husband got the "taste of the bayou" which had jambalaya, red beans and rice, and crawfish etouffee. All of them were seasoned perfectly, great sized portions, and just so full of flavor! I got the cochon de lait panini and it was so yummy. The meat was drenched in a tangy sauce and pressed in such yummy bread. I loved it. Came with a side of potato salad but there were also other options. It was so good! Lastly we got the brownie a la mode. It had melted chocolate chips inside and literally melted in your mouth. Didn't get a pic bc we ate it too quickly. Everything was delicious! Also they had the cutest little Cajun menu for the kids. Really great restaurant! Service was amazing from our server Shay. Will definitely be back!
