The last 2 times I've been there, we were bothered by flies. The food is extremely overpriced. The seafood is good but some of the regular items are bland. Employees stared at me when I asked for a fly swatter. If you are looking for a Seafood Restaurant in Lafourche Parish, Cut Off area this is the place. I have visited it once before on the recommendation of friends and family. We had a family crowd with us so I am sorry to say at that time I was more attentive to them than the dinning experience or surroundings. Today I found myself in the area at lunch time alone and decided to pop in and give the place more of attention. The parking lot was packed, so I was a little apprehensive as to if I would have to wait in a line. Contrary, I was greeted by a young lady the second I stepped in, and offered to clean up a table for me if I waited for a few seconds. I opted to sit at the bar area, not wanting to take up an entire table for myself, but it was a nice offer. She seated me at the bar, told me whom my waitress would be by name and she would be with me very shortly. Ms Lonnie, a very big smile and friendly young lady appeared, gave me the run down on the lunch special of the day and took my drink order while placing a full menu in front of me( see photos) I opted for unsweetened tea which she returned with so quickly I barely had time to open the menu. I ordered the fried shrimp salad, but continued to look over the menu just to see the offerings, should I choose to return. Made it to the second page and Ms Lonnie was back with my salad. The salad was very well presented, loaded with all the effects of a chef salad and fried shrimp topping it all. Well to my surprise, when I say shrimp ! There was more shrimp on top of this salad than most of the seafood restaurants around put on a shrimp platter. The veggies were fresh and crisp, while the shrimp was fresh, hot, golden fried and over the top in flavor. The tea was also fresh made, not something from a fountain machine or left in the fridge. Ms Lonnie was very attentive but did not Hover over me. She was watchful and knew exactly when I needed a refill, when I was done with my meal and when was an appropriate time to offer me desert and my bill. We chatted a little, I looked over the restaurant and atmosphere.. casual, nice family place as well as enticing to the lone traveler or worker on a lunch hour. Quaint, home style very comfortable describes the atmosphere best. Plenty of friendly servers, super quick turn around on food to your table and the other dishes I glanced over looked every bit as delicious as my salad was. The place doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside is where it all comes together. I intend to bring friends, family and business acquaintances alike to this special little place. I grew up down in Cut Off, and I've gone to all the restaurants there growing up that have come and gone, but I never had a meal at any of them like the one I had at Cher Amie's. Unique menu items, large selection, and great flavors. I had the fried duck strips appetizer with ginger dipping sauce, which were perfect, and my entree was theeeeee best! Crawfish Etoufee w/ Softshell Crab with two whopping fried potato logs & two pieces of French bread. I will try other dishes there from now on, but it will be hard to not get this one again. Another big thing to me is presentation. I appreciate the extra touches. All the dishes we got that day looked as good as they tasted. I was, however, disappointed that the dessert for the plate lunch was a piece of sheet cake with icing. Buying a cheap ice box lemon pie would be better! Anyway, Can't wait to go back. read more

Ashley helped us on our weekday lunch visit. The pleasant dining room was not crowded so we had a leisurely meal. Ashley was cheerful and efficient and knowledgeable about menu items. I ordered seafood gumbo which traditionally includes sausage in this area. Ashley asked the kitchen to omit as much as possible and that worked for us. I was here years ago with one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. I must say I had the same thing and it did not disappoint. I must say being from south Louisiana I'm a food snob when it comes to our cuisine. I know how it should be done. And this place should be the poster child of how in fact it should be done. I had half a poboy with the crab bisque. Yummmmm. My husband had shrimp fricasse' it even came with a little cute fun getti dessert cake. The name and inside(beautiful mural now is painted on the wall and the place has been updated)has changed from years ago, but this is still some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten. Not to mention the great staff. We were super early ;a little after 10:00 am but they were happy to welcome us in almost an hour before opening time. Service was fast and super friendly.
