Have been a patron of this restaurant for over 30 years but has been years since dining at this place. My family found out it was open after the storm, so we went on a whim. It wasn't too packed and our server was delightful and attentive. I was on a stringent diet at the time (Health reasons) and they were very accommodating of my few requests. My meal was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal thoroughly as well. I was here about a month ago and everything was delicious and piping hot and I told my husband we needed to go when he was able. Made the drive down tonight and ordered same thing shrimp tacos and crawfish bread. Shrimp tacos last time loaded with shrimp and flavor this time 3 poorly fried limp shrimp and crawfish bread was cold in the middle and we sent it back for it to return cold again. I gave up on it. Our server was super friendly and it wasn't her fault but giving it a 3 this time to offset the 5 review I should've left last time. So a 1 for the food this go around. read more

We have been coming here for years, and I admit we have had some ok experiences. BUT tonight since the renovations and upgrades, everything was exceptional. My wife got the pork osso bucco. The flavors were exceptional. Our 8 year old daughter and her friend were fighting for bites! My steak was perfect, but the twice baked potato was the best I ever had. I had grilled shrimp and zucchini. My husband had a shrimp po boy and they both were so good. I had 12 grilled shrimp and they were a nice size. The pi boy was a large Hogue's bun that was so fresh. The restaurant and bar at Coco Marina are outstanding. The wait staff are the best and the food is delicious. A winning combination. My friends and I ordered up - fish dip, onion rings, gator bites, gumbo, and fish tacos. This spot is not one too miss. The gator bites are the most tender ones I've ever eaten and the remoulade perfect. The onion rings were made from scratch and crisp. The tacos and gumbo were flavorful. The fish dip was a hit. The kitchen obviously takes great pride in its cuisine. The drinks were mixed expertly and the beer nice and cold. One tip: don't miss the Bushwacker. A boozy, ice cream concoction which, after fishing a good part of the day restores your energy. OK, it may not be medicinal, but it's delicious! read more

This place is headed towards greatness! They have a new owner and he is making the right improvements to the facility that has been needed for a long time. The food is very good and the portions have improved since the previous ownership. Our service was very good and our server was very friendly and personable and enjoyed her job. I could not rate it as 5 stars (yet) because the food was delayed too long after our appetizers were completed. I assume that the kitchen was short staffed to handle our party size (13) along with the other guests that evening (I estimate approx 25 plus diners). We plan to dine there often for lunch or dinner as the spring and summer months have us spending time at our camp and enjoying the good life! Looking forward to our next visit. read more

Food was good, server was good, facilities were rundown. The Condo was dirty, dirty, pots and pan dirty, dishes dirty, beds made, but completely worn out. TV broken and had some bad odors floating around the rooms. Fishing and launch were good. Edit, they were extremely accommodating and expressed concern for the set backs. The restaurant and the rooms here exceed expectations. It seems like it's a family oriented business. Everyone was so kind during our visit especially Maggie. The rooms were perfect for our fishing trip. I was having trouble with my iPad and they even took time out of their day to help me with it. The food was outstanding. This was a 4-5 star experience hot spot! Bt, after fishing 8 years, management has changed and has lost its respect and caring as the haphazard employees appeared to be entangled with the new owner. Decent food but way overpriced. Even living in Montegut, it's still a bit of a drive. You would think being so near the water, that the cost of your meal wouldn't be so high. But then again, they are capitalizing on tourists, while making locals pay an exorbitant prices as well. We would eat here more often if the cost was lower. Absolutely the worst service I've ever had in my life! Not once, but two days in a row. My husband and I had been fishing all day and just got off the water. We went in to eat. When we walked in, there were 6 girls standing at the front, none of them acknowledged us standing at the door for about 5 minutes, then someone finally said sit where ever you like, so we did. Keep in mind, they weren't busy at this time, there were only 3 tables of people sitting at the time. We sat for 14 minutes at the table, had about 5 or 6 waitresses walk by us, even refilling drinks at the table next to us, no one asked what we wanted to drink, no one gave us menus, no one tried to wait on us! Then to top it off, there was a table of 7 that came in, (seemed to be locals) they were sat immediately and given menus and drinks and we still hadn't been waited on. My husband and I had finally had enough, so we got up and left and ate at tradewinds restaurant who had immediate and nice service! Day two, we had to get gas for our boat so we went to coco marina, I went in to get a couple drinks and pay for gas, I walked in, never was acknowledged again, there were two girls at that counter, so I went and got my drinks and went back to counter, both girls ignored me, so I got right in front of girl by register, and asked politely, is this where I check out? The girl waited about 39 seconds, then looked up at me and said yes, wait a minute and then proceeded to play on her phone. I almost lost my patience, but I was trying to be polite, then some guy came up to counter (maybe a manager) said what do you need, he checked me out and sent me on my way! My son and I have fished here for years, the fishing is fantastic. The cabins are clean, and the restraunt is also a good place to eat.

My husband Jonathan and I, Phyllis North, were just there for a visit with two of our Grandchildren. The Staff was amazing! We loved the condo, the restaurant, the décor and everything else about it! Captain Eugene Foret redefines "professionalism." We didn't just have a Captain, we had a man that was polite, with a great sense of humor, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to share his "passion" for what he loves to do, and is happy to teach others how to do it! The feeling of welcome and warmth, meant the most to me, because we were there to share a special time with our Grands, Kodie and Kade. Thank all of you for making the trip so amazing! Absolutely the worst dining experience I've ever had! 5 of my son's friends & I went to Chauvin, LA for a great time of fishing. First night we went to Tradewinds Restaurant. Food & service were great! 2nd night went to Coco Marina for the worst meal & experience ever!!! Fresh seafood was all covered with the worst, strongest wine & cheese sauce ever. All 6 got something different and no one liked the food. That's saying something for 5 27-30 year old men! Besides that the waitress told us right off the bat she just wanted to go home. Then there was the very loud cussing fight between at least two of the waitresses. On top of that two of the orders were wrong but we didn't care....we just wanted to leave! Best place to eat while your in the area fishing in cocodrie. Suburb restaurant serving great one of a kind dishes ( don't get the gumbo). A must get is the egg plant pelto, Pelto supreme, or shrimp in the spicy wine cheese sauce. Full bar as well. read more

This is Louisiana, so, naturally, most places are going to have excellent food, and most Cajun places in this neck of the woods are no exception. I grew up in Houma. And there is good food everywhere, which you can easily tell by the inordinate amount of obese people and our hospital having one of the best heart clinics in the world just out of sheer practice. Going by that logic, the cure for diabetes will also be found here. But I digress. When your expectations for good food are that high, you basically only gage the restaurant on the price, the service you experience and the atmosphere of the place. We arrived at the Coca Marina yesterday (a bit of a drive from Houma) and it was getting pretty busy. We got our drinks pretty fast. Our food didn't take too long to get there. The food was delicious. It was a bit stuffy in there..they should have turned the ac or the fans on. The bathrooms are a bit unsanitary and they should work on that. A person at my table had sun in his eyes the whole time because of the time of day. They should invest in some shades. My food, although delicious, was a bit overpriced. Our waiter was really busy, and he really tried to give us excellent service so I don't blame him for anything, the worst part of our experience is when the manager came to our table 10 minutes after we were finished eating and pretty much demanded we leave because people were waiting for our table. I think that is a pretty shady thing to do considering we didn't cause any kind of drama and we had just spent $200 there. I get you're a business, and I get that you're busy, but you won't win anyone's loyalty by shoving them out the door when they're done eating and you've already taken their money. Another thing to consider is that some people are making quite the drive to go eat here, and you're kicking them out basically when they stop chewing. read more
