The steaks have been great they are moving to a place on the beach side that will make them fantastic service and place to enjoy the views

Lovely dinner spot while visiting Grand Isle. Most of the items on the menu are fried seafood platters or steak. I had the soft shell crab, which was good, but a bit expensive for something deep fried. The loaded baked potato was wonderful, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Our server even went so far as to go to another restaurant to find me take out utensils. His dedication to our enjoyment was wonderful. Wine, beer, and a full bar. Only doesn't receive a 5 star review because I thought the prices didn't correlate with entrees being served with condiments in plastic containers. Would certainly return to try a steak! read more

Server was friendly and helpful. Seafood gumbo was lukewarm and tasted like it had been reused from the previous day or older. Very little rice. Snapper was tough and chewy, possibly frozen rather than fresh. Server took it off the bill and apologized. Spin dip with fried bowtie pasta was good. Baked sweet potato was good. Seafood platter was nothing special. Sauteed shrimp was good. For the price, it was disappointing. I would expect better for $20 entrees. read more

This was my 3rd time eating at the Lighthouse restaurant. Unfortunately it was my 1st bad experience. But the first 2 were excellent so I will be back. The 1st time I ate here, I had the most amazing grilled snapper & charbroilled oysters. Everything was perfection. It made me want to go back as soon as possible. 2nd trip was good as well. I can't recall what I had but I don't have any recollection of it being bad in any way. This trip, I ordered the snapper again, half dozen of both raw & charbroilled oysters. My wife ordered a T Bone steak. The waiter came back to inform her they were out of T Bones. So she ordered the filet. They were also out of that as well. She ended up ordering a ribeye cooked medium rare. My raw oysters were disappointing. They were tiny & had no flavor, as though they had been washed. The charbroilled ones tasted good, but again, tiny. The serving I had on my 1st trip there were better. We also had some fried appetizers, they were ok. Our entrees came out. My snapper tasted fine, but didn't blow me away like my 1st visit. My wife's steak ended up very overcooked, so she sent it back. It then came back basically raw. Our waiter was very polite & apologized both times about her steak. He ended up bringing us a piece of cheesecake & a piece of chocolate cake for dessert at no charge. We didn't care for the chocolate cake, which is weird, because who doesn't love chocolate cake?? The cheesecake was good, it could have used some sort of fruit puree on top. Yes, I know it was free, but if I had to pay for it, a topping would have added to the value. The Lighthouse is not cheap, our bill was $85. But when the food is good, it's worth it. Don't assume just because you are within spitting distance of the gulf, that seafood will be cheap. Since this was our only lack luster visit out of 3, we will likely return. read more

Locally sourced fresh fish... and a little creepy kitsch!! Go for the blackened snapper stay for the noir!! Now, foolish mortals, let me welcome you to "The (haunted?) Lighthouse." You will have to look for it off the beaten path, it doesn't insult by reaching for the common lure of being exciting or charming. You step in to the shadowed foyer and hear the haunting sounds of yesteryear echoing through the gloomy little rooms. The windows have been boarded up... from the inside! So there's no escape! Old motel paintings, black wrought iron candle sconces, nondescript tables and chairs give it an eerie edge, like time has passed it by. The menu explains the fare with no frills and you think that may be all until the server arrives! He is as entertaining and darkly delightful as the blackened red fish, a handsome man with a south Louisiana drawl and tell it to you straight flair that is the golden stitching on this dark brocade!! I have serious regrets of not trying an appetizer, only because I could have stayed longer without drawing attention. read more

Well, it started out great. Service was friendly but our waiter was obviously very new. Tried to take our order before even giving us menus, didn't know the menu well and overall, very flustered. Took over 45 min to get our appetizer of very small charbroiled oysters, but they were cooked ok. Not the best I had had, but not the worst. I had shrimp platter and hubs had bowl of gumbo. Both were very tasty, but had to ask twice for butter and brown sugar for potato. Got the brown sugar, never the butter. BUT as I said, service was friendly, beer and wine were cold and the atmosphere was nice, like we were one of the locals. For that, I give it three stars. We'll probably try it again on our next trip. read more

The service and the food were both spot on. I don't get to Grand Isle often, but will stop here again on future visits.

Tammy from the Blue Dolphin recommended this spot. During our Thanksgiving vacation we ate here twice. The charbroiled oysters and pasta with a crawfish sauce was wonderful. Our server Tony gave was very easy going and made us feel like we were family. Told us about the area and recommended places to go. Whenever we go back, we definitely will eat here. read more

The food is absolutely wonderful here. The service is impeccable. We were a party of eight. Everyone was essentially served at the same time and with total accuracy. We all had steak, but I would bet their entire menu was just as appealing. read more
