Everyone knows this is one of the best local joints to go! They have so many good options to choose from...pictured here is the burger and fries I decided to go with. The burger was perfect, not a single complaint about that! The fries were fried a little too long and no salt at all but still enjoyable. My brothers shrimp on his poboy were also fried too long, I'm sure this isn't all the time though..hope not anyway. Fast and friendly service. The food is amazing, and the workers are super friendly! My family and I go there at least 1-2 times a week. It's more of a family feel from when you arrive until you get your food and leave. Very nice place to go! read more

in Larose for work and stopped to get food here. payed $18 for the fish plate and I get a handful of fish that looks and tastes like it came from Walmart, I get one small cup of tarter sauce, the salad is just shredded lettuce with 2 cucumbers and they didn't even give me a fork. in my opinion definitely not how you should serve an $18 meal. read more

LOVE D & D DRIVE IN (or Double D as the locals know it)!!!! Been eating here since I was a kid. Since they got got their power back up after Hurricane Ida, we've eaten there at least once a week. I think we actually ate there 3 times one weekend They actually worked with no a/c for quite a while. Love these people so much!!! Hot dogs with chili are my all time favorite - especially the red weenies on the weekends. Burgers are awesome too. Went here twice in 2 days, yes the food is that good and tried multiple things. Day 1 I had the chicken sandwich with seasoned fries for $7 after taxes and it was easily in the Top 3 of chicken sandwiches I've had in from a restaurant. The next day I got the large bun (5 inch) shrimp sandwich which had a lot of shrimp on it, my mom got the crab sandwich and my dad had a butterscotch shake. My dad have his shake 5 stars and my mom said her crab sandwhich was good, but nothing special. You can eat in or order from the to go window. The prices are very reasonable and it's close to Elaine's snowballs, which is over the HWY1 bridge on the first street to the right. It's also very reasonably priced. I got a bacon cheeseburger and it was pretty yummy. It had crispy bacon and the cheese was melty and delicious. I also got seasoned fries which were just like the really good old style Rally's fries. Great choice for cheap fast food in the stix. Its on the way back to New Orleans from Grand Isle too, and there are very few options on that route. read more

Have been eating here since the 60's. It is now the fifth generation of my family that eats from here, as do all neighbors from way back when. Great old-fashioned hamburgers w/grilled onions, Po-Boys are fantastic, the Hamburger steaks are the best we have ever eaten. I do not believe the negative review. I placed an order by phone. Got there & there were many people waiting. Many were there to place an order. I waited thinking my name would be called, but they kept taking orders from others waiting at the window. I made a comment that my order was made by phone, but it didn't seem to matter. I waited 30 minutes while my order sat there. Lease to say it was not hot any more. I made the comment that they should use one window for taking orders for drive ups & another for phone orders. I hate giving bad reviews.. but D&D's needs some improvements. My first time visiting Larose...My husband &I visiting friends &family for the long holidays weekend. We wanted po-boys we ordered 9' 1/2 shrimp &oysters,9' shrimps po- boy and side crab patty.. and 1 drink 27.00. it's no way the Larose,La. that is ROUNDED BY WATER. .should use pre breaded shrimps the oysters wasn't seasoned ...the oysters was very bland just dipped in fry meal and fryed the oysters was lighter than the pre breaded shrimps no flavor ..if I'm wrong about the pre breaded shrimps" I Deeply apologize " ...BUT!!! the shrimps was over cooked....A bad experience in a beautiful town. read more

Place was good in the 60s but not anymore. When the place burnt down they should have kept it that way. I've never recieved a hot dog that didn't have a green hue to it. Their malts taste watered down too read more
