Yes, I realize it's a WH. The people were so friendly and the cooks expedited with precision. Yes, it's loud as the orders are being shouted out to the cooks, but it beats a loudspeaker. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try. read more

This waffle House is different from those you are use too. All the employees are working and caring about your service. They were not noisy like most Waffle Houses! No screaming your food order out or slamming dishes around. I would give them a 5 star but the sausage was way too greasy! Everything else was perfect! Also they have sugar free syrup if you need it. Ok so I flat out condemned this place the 2x I went but as they say 3rd times a charm... We had a wonderful server and the cooks did perfectly! This time I was taken back to the times when my husband and I got the best service at WH in Theodore AL. They were on point, I wanted for nothing! I'm glad I ventured in to try it again because usually if the first time is bad there isn't a second. I wish I could remember the servers name, she's blonde and fast, all I can remember. Y'all this is a good Waffle House! Food was great! It was very clean. The bathrooms especially! Everyone was friendly, I got several compliments by the staff while I was there. Made my day! Also, a random local customer offered me a cupcake that she made and brought to the restaurant for the workers! You can't get much more souther hospitality than that! Highly recommend! read more

In our area we have several Waffle Houses to choose from. This one always seems to do a good job. Today was a great day for a motorcycle ride and my wife and I used that as an excuse to go out for breakfast. We arrived at Waffle House to a few folks waiting ahead of us. The tables moved quickly and we were seated within a few minutes. Our waitress quickly got our order and within a few minutes we were eating our breakfasts. The orders were prepared correctly. One of the things we love, and you have to ask for it, is the cinnamon raisin toast with apple butter. read more

Let me begin by saying we have visited this Waffle House location (across the 4-lane from Terry Thompson Chevrolet) many times since opened. The staff has always been polite, friendly, the facility clean and the food great ! Today, some of that has slipped. Cleanliness is a BIG concern when we eat out anywhere. When we arrived we sat at the counter. There were dishes, remaining food , etc that instead of being removed were shoved over next to where we sat. Those items were still there when we left. We also noticed three other boothes that took about 10-15 minutes before they were cleared away. The Meals; My meal in particular was very good. My bride's meal was also good with the exception that her bacon was stone cold and required being re-heated once she asked. There was another party that almost simultaneously asked for their grits to be replaced stating they were so cold that the butter he placed in the bowl would not melt. If the joint was hoppin' we could look past some issues. However, there were about 10 -12 customers (including us) when we arrived and about the same when we left. With 5 WH employees behind the counter, this was surprising. Our take on things when we left was that there was some new help that either were unsure or unwilling to get things done in a timely manner. In any case, leadership and supervision were the missing ingredients. Don't get us wrong. Everyone has a bad day every now and again but when at work, its time leave our issues at the door and go to work. There was just a negative energy that was spilling across the counter to the customers. Full disclosure; the lead cook did ask how are meals were, our server asked to have the bacon re-warmed and refilled our drinks. I am not saying do not eat here over this one instance. Don't go if you have PTSD for sure. The employees were throwing dishes and silverware in dirty bins instead of just putting them in there. ALL the kids were not as loud as the workers. And hostess and waitress were not very friendly either. We usually go every Sunday to the one on hwy 181 and will be returning there instead. I know waffle house's are normally loud but I have NEVER BEEN TO ONE THAT LOUD!!! I saw several people leaving and wish I had instead of jumping with every dish they threw!!! read more
