Sometimes, you remember something in your head being better than it really is, but despite not visiting a Cracker Barrel in at least a decade (maybe two), those pancakes are exactly how I remember them: perfect. The rest of the food? Yikes. We ordered a cinnamon roll skillet and it was pretty terrible. First off, it was mildly warm, at best. It looked like it had been sitting in the skillet for a few hours and tasted no different. I reluctantly finished one of the mini rolls but it was not worth the calories. And I also ordered a campfire skillet. This is one of those situations where when you almost exclusively eat at highly-rated, mom & pop restaurants, you forget how bad these big, corporate chains really are. It was passable when I masked it with some ketchup, but the eggs look like they were spit out of some giant machine that makes 1,000 plates an hour. It shouldn't take that much effort to make decent eggs, which leaves me confused. But between the pancakes and the museum of rare candies in the shop, Cracker Barrel is still an enjoyable experience. We all agonized over what candy to take home because there were so many good options. And everyone who worked here was super friendly. Just don't come in with high expectations for the non-pancake portion of the menu.

He talked for about 5 minutes to another customer , all the while holding this tray above my husband's head. I finally asked him to step away from us and to please not hold this tray of someone else's dirty dishes above us. He got very angry at me, told me he's never hit anybody with a tray. I replied with, I never said you hit him but you are being extremely intrusive standing so close to him and holding this tray above his head He stormed off mumbling obscenities towards us. Thomas then went into the doorway of the kitchen turned around dand was pointing us out to other servers who then I turn stood and stared at us. Thomas came back out of the kitchen and walked towards us laughing and mocking us. When asked for the manager, Thomas said I don't know where she is and walked back into the kitchen continuing to talk and point back at our table. My son then asked him, if we had a problem? Thomas immediately got into my sons face and the general manager had to physically pull him away from my sons face. I'm sure nothing was said or done to this waiter, Thomas, but please be aware he is a angry, unstable wait staff that needs to consider possibly working from his home to keep the public safe from his rage. This Thomas was not a young man. Probably in his 40's , so should know better. We left without eating breakfast.

When we asked to speak with a manager, Andi told us that she had to answer to the kitchen manager and could not address the charge. She then said she was busy and walked away without offering a solution. When I attempted to explain the problems from this visit and the previous week, I was told that the owner, Teek, is usually at the newest location except on Tuesdays, is difficult for the staff to reach, and that I would need to find him myself rather than having management take my contact information and request that he call me. Restaurants make mistakes, but repeated incorrect orders, questionable food quality, missing items, unexplained charges, and dismissive management are not a single mistake. They are a pattern. Our waitress deserved much better support, and our group deserved food prepared as ordered and concerns handled professionally. After two bad experiences in a row, Pacific Yard House has permanently lost our business.
