10/10. I went here on a weeknight around 11pm for a quick meal with family after leaving an event. Customer service was excellent. The waitress let us right away that she would be with us. There was a wait for us to order but nothing outrageous. My cousin shared the bathroom was clean and the restaurant was in great shape. The Christmas tree is up for the holiday season. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the classic all star with hash browns. Everything was cooked to perfection. The bacon was nice and crispy. The eggs... whew. Of course, the waffle was perfect. The toast was great and already buttered. The cook on the night I went was amazing. I want to know his schedule. I'll be back on another late night or early morning adventure. read more

First time trying Waffle House. Place was pretty busy, but we got a table right away. Our server was busy also and managed to get our order in and a fresh pour of coffee. The wait was a bit long, and we needed coffee refills but had to flag down a different server. Noticed the craziness in the kitchen as it is totally exposed to patrons. When something like a towel hits the floor, it remains there. When the food arrived, it wasn't a beautiful dish, but it sure was tasty! I had an excellent late night breakfast here recently when my brother was visiting town. We had been out late and done some bar hopping during his visit and decided to grab some breakfast before calling it an evening. It was around midnight when we arrived and just before us a large group of kids, about 18-20, had arrived from a football game (I'm assuming based on their clothing and discussions) and it kind of overwhelmed the small staff. They had 2 people working the grill, and one of them looked like they were in training. Then one working the counter and finally our server was working the main floor. I'd say we had about a 40-45 minute wait due to the group, however it wasn't bad. It allowed my brother and I to catch up and just made everything more relaxed. We enjoyed some cokes and shot the breeze. Our server was beyond excellent and communicated with us as much as she could and refilled our drinks at least once before the meal arrived. Once the order arrived it was perfect. I had the bacon and egg breakfast bowl and my brother had a more traditional eggs with hash browns platter. I really enjoyed my breakfast and it wasn't long before our plates where empty. Pro's - Great food and service on our visit. Con's - Outside of our server, the rest of the staff had no idea how to handle a rush. read more

Very quiet this morning for a Monday, there was no shouting, no drama, and no waffle or hash browns for me as I'm doing a keto (no carb) diet. Instead, I ordered from the "small" menu and chose the fiesta omelet which includes all jalapenos and cheese and ham and onions and peppers and tomato. Absolutely delicious and better with a bit of the jarred salsa poured over the top. Easy to eat, almost completely "free" on my diet and delicious. Lots and lots of coffee this morning. Its a Waffle House. They are a step down in quality from IHOP or Denny's. You dont go to a Waffle House and expect the place to be very clean. You dont expect the best service. Lastly, dont expect the food to be very good. You go there because they are open and they are cheap. This location was no different than any other Waffle House. I mean...I was going to say,"Just don't.." ...but this is just based on my experience on a busy Sunday a few months ago. We tried a few other places first, but the wait time was so long. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I'm always compelled to leave an honest review. If I'm being honest, I really can't imagine coming to this location again. The only positive thing about this visit is we didn't have to wait long for seating and the people seemed nice. I'd also like to mention it was Sunday close to noon, so they did seem fairly busy. There seemed to be alot of people behind the counter doing things, but I'm not really sure what everyone was doing. Some had mask on working over the food, and some didn't. I felt at least one of the people should've been in charge of tidying up. There was food and trash all over the floor, and wasted food all over the cooking area. T hinking about it now, I really can't believe we stayed. I ordered the Bacon Angus Cheeseburger Deluxe Plate and if you would've saw what they brought out. I really wish I would've taken a picture. The bun looked like it had expired a couple years ago..all broken up with missing pieces. When the lady asked if everything looked OK I really couldn't believe it. Did she not see what we saw?? I asked her what was wrong with the burger bun? She looked at it and asked if I wanted her to change it for me? I told her it looked pretty bad, she AGREED and took it back to switch out the top piece of the bun. I watched as the plate just sat there for at least 5 minutes before someone popped another top on it. It wasn't much better! I took a couple bites of the now cold burger and just decided I needed to get out of there. My husband had the breakfast and thought it was ok. We placed an order for the group at work, worth over $90... We were short one persons order and had to go back there since the phone# on site never gets answered. Therefore, we had to send someone up there on our time and gas to get the shorted order. We asked if we can get a piece of ham for our time and trouble coming back up there. The cashier was rude and said only if we pay for it. She went to the manager and the manager said only if we pay for it as well. SAD customer service if you ask me. We had to use our time and gas to fix their mistake and they wouldn't accommodate a simple request for a slice of ham. The food there is good but the service, the cashier, and manager were rude and not people friendly. Terrible customer service. I said we would have to bring our business to I-Hop down the street and they said, " oh, OK". For a $90 order and wasting our time, they would rather lose a customer than give a piece of ham to make a customer happy and stay with them. HORRIBLE............................. read more

Quick and easy. Pretty decent Waffle House in the area. The service is fast and does not deviate too much from the Waffle House standards. Although some may say that "the Waffle House "standards" are subjective. This is not a place for elegant dining; it's a place to get your greasy and sugary food fix at a decent price. I tend to go to the Waffle House after a night of boozing or when I am craving "breakfast for dinner". The guys working behind the bar seemed to be having a good time (perhaps they were in a happy holiday mood) and the restaurant definitely had a "service with a smile" type of vibe. Our first time eating at this Waffle House. Everything was very clean, and restaurant smelled clean and fresh. I only saw 1 wait person, and the cook. The young lady that waited on us was very nice and friendly. She took our drink order and gave us time to choose our food without feeling rushed, not like some places. And our food was ready so fast, it didn't seem to take no time. Everything was delicious, she checked on us regularly too. Even fixed our iced tea refills to go. The prices were great too. We will definitely stop here again. I only regret I didn't get her name, and it wasn't on the receipt when we got back to the hotel. But the check was dated 1 Oct '23 8:28 pm. I called into Place a togo order at 6:30 in the morning. No one answered the phone I arrive at 7:30 in the morning to now place the order in person there are four representatives working. There was one woman heavier, set working hard at the grill, there was a young man who assisted me and made my hashbrowns crispy as I requested, who assisted me and did not have problems assisting me. however, there was a blonde tall heavier, set woman who took my order and placed my food on the counter and asked if I need to ketchup and told me to have a nice day after I just specifically requested that I wanted my hashbrowns crispy. I hadn't been sitting there for more than five minutes , so when open the order and saw that it wasn't what I asked. the young man and the beaver set black woman said they'd help. the blonde woman walked away and had an attitude towards me as if I didn't place the order with her and tell her exactly what I want and how I wanted it and paid the price for what I asked and wanted. I asked her is there a reason why nobody answered the phone this morning? She told me she was short of staff. Yet, walking in There was one other woman before me who placed it to go order as well, and a table of three in the restaurant at the time. literally no other people were in the restaurant, except for the workers. I would've loved to have placed a better review to this establishment but at this time I cannot say that I would come back or that I would recommend it to the next person if the service is going to be lackluster, if the effort is going to be lackluster. I have no problems reporting that so, that others can see there's no need to put themselves through , something as simple as getting something to eat and getting the order right, from this location. Had I not been familiar with working for a Waffle House. Had I not been familiar with working with in the hospitality industry. I wouldn't expect my customer service to be exceedingly up to par. But you never know whom you're talking to when you talk to them and you never know who's gonna write a review after you've treated them the way that you've treated them. WOULD NOT SERVE TO GO ORDERS WHEN THERE WAS ONLY 1 CUSTOMER IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. I went to the location on Red Cedar Court in Chesapeake VA. It was 7:30am. On the door is a note saying "NO TO GO ORDERS". The whole time I was reading the sign debating if I'd even go in and ask why, the girl is sitting at the register just staring at me. I went in and ask why? There was 1 table sat. No other customers. She said "well we plan on getting busy" so I said what about now when you aren't and you are just sitting around? She refused to take my order. I told her "I wonder if corporate knows about this?!" she told me that Dennys down the road does to go orders. Unreal! I am disabled and can not walk that far very easily. I had walked to your location from my hotel. Decided to just go in and wait... the website and I've known this place to be 24hours but when I went in I was told that they weren't taking any orders; with 2 customers sitting at the bar and 2 leaving I didn't understand why I was refused service. I've never been to a Waffle House during the day. I'm exclusively here after going to a few bars in downtown Norfolk. There's normally a decent amount of people here but the counter is usually empty. I think the best place to eat at Waffle House is the counter. You'll get your food right away, and you can keep an eye on the cooks too. My usual order is hamsteak with eggs and a triple order of hashbrowns smothered, covered, and diced. Even though they slap cheese on the hashbrowns they still come out crispy. Just make sure you ask for it that way. As far as cleanlines goes, I've never sat at a table so I can't report on that front. But the counter is always clean. Restrooms are what you'd expect at 2am. I went here for an after hours breakfast food break. It was fairly crowded for a Saturday Night and has a typical diner feel to it. I did not feel like driving very far and was in the area so this was the lucky winner. "The Good" - A decent selection of fast food. I have only had breakfast food here and settled in on the Bacon Egg and Cheese on Texas Toast. - Its not a fancy restaurant and they do not try to be. Just some fast food and they are open late. - The chefs have some skills and move a ton of food on a few burners and a small flattop. - Real Cherry Coke. The kind where they put the cherry mix in before the coke - Outstanding! They have other flavors as well, but since I rarely drink soda or at least try to match with the water intake this is some good stuff. - Juke Box. Although I have rarely seen one being used at a Waffle House, they have one and it is on autoplay every once in a while so you get some background music. "The Meh" - The packet of Mayo I get with my Bacon Egg and Cheese. I am Anti-Mayo as it is... but even if I was all about it, there would be absolutely none on the Bacon Egg and Cheese. Plus, God only knows how many people do the same thing I do, and take it off the plate and leave it on the table to be recycled again and again. - I like it for what it is, I don't love the chain and know that there is better, but it is consistent and I know what I am getting. "The Bad" - The fact they charge you an extra take out fee, I think it is a $1.25. I know times are tough, but does the plastic carrier really cost that much that you would pass those costs on to me. Plus, Isn't beneficial that the people are getting orders to go and shouldn't you support that by leaving the limited seating that you have open for even more customers?? read more

Ok- this is just a Waffle House, but this review is about our overall experience there and in this little town in Virginia. We were driving through from OBX back to NYC and needed to stop for lunch, to change our son's diaper and to try to feed him before we hit the road again. Our son has special needs and feeding him in public is not our favorite thing, as he absolutely hates eating and will scream and hit himself through the whole process, especially if in a noisy place like a waffle house... but we had to eat and he had to eat, so there we were. The waitresses were very nice there and asked about our son, made sure we were comfortable while we waited for a seat and took very good care of us. The food was exactly what you expect, and did it's job. About halfway through our meal, my son screaming away, the waitress comes and takes our check and says that another table is paying for our lunch. We were a little stunned... On their way out the couple stopped by our table and the guy says to me that he has a ton of respect for parents of special need kids and that even though he's not a spiritual man, he knows that we were put on earth to take care of our son. With that he said "Welcome to Virginia" In other places (I'm looking at you NY) you would have spent the meal being judged by the other parents, or hear grumbles from nonparents about loud kids, but there we got a much needed lift in the middle of a long long day. read more

This is my first time going to waffle house and they burnt all of my food and my girlfriend sandwich.

This location provides a very low quality product coming from the kitchen. I ordered the All-Star special with an extra side of bacon. The meal was just horrible. The bacon was undercooked, the waffle is now the size of a small pancake, and the waffle wasn't even cooked all the way. The waffle was soggy, and nowhere near brown as waffles should be. We sat in a booth, and throughout our entire meal we had this behemoth of a waitress continually reaching over our table handling cashier transactions with customers while we are trying to eat. I asked the lady why did every one of the transactions for the restaurant have to come over the top of my food while I'm trying to eat. Her response was "we can't take payment at the tables anymore". ..... This place will NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN. I hope each reader goes elsewhere. Anywhere but here. read more

Not only do you get a pretty good breakfast, but you have the additional value of entertainment provided by the other customers (some days are more entertaining than others!). My favorite is the pecan waffles, but you really should get a side of hash browns as well because they are fabulous! People can say what they want about Waffle House but reality is that this place is a good breakfast joint. It's not high class, it's fast, greasy, and probably not healthy. I hear horror stories from people and their Waffle House experience and I have never even come close to that type of experience. Simple is better sometime. I stop here often and enjoy the basic breakfast fare. The All American breakfast at 7.99 is a deal. I can never finish it but order it often. The staff is attentive even when the place is packed. The waffles a fluffy and light. My only complaint is that the sitting is tight. We used to live in this specific area and we were ALWAYS eating here! We occasionally find ourselves back in the area and have no problem eating here. Service is always on point and the food is always on point. Never had a complaint about the quality OR the quantity you get from this location. I actually wish they could somehow just move this location and it's workers to the one out here where we now reside but I know that's impossible. Oh well. I love this Waffle House location, because it has better waiters than at the other locations. It was the closest to my mother's home and I loved going there all the time.
