I've been to a lot of bougie brunch places and nothing beats the Waffle House. They do the basics well. My husband likes his hash browns closed to burnt and they delivered. The waffles with the chocolate and peanut butter chips are unmatched. Their combo breakfast meals will fill you up for a price that's not astronomical. Chris provided us with excellent service. This was Waffle House number 3 of the night to try to get some hot food. Sat down in one part of the restaurant and told that they were only servicing tables at the other end of the restaurant. At this point I could not be patient and we left on our way to Waffle House number 4. read more

I didn't expect waffle house to have so many options for ovo-vegetarians! The waffles are just as I remember, skinny but, oh so delicious. The staff was soooo friendly and we're on top of everything. Excellent service, average food! Wanted to really like this place, went twice for breakfast while staying at nearby hotel. Got the two egg breakfast specials, sunny side up eggs, just slightly too runny, the biscuits were not flaky although they were split/buttered/toasted. The grits got cold very quickly due to putting the food on a cold plate instead of heated plates, and they were not creamy, seemed like made with water instead of milk, I make at home that way sometimes but not as good as creamy grits at other places. They have an option to add $1 for three ingredients, which I did to have grilled mushrooms, onions, and diced tomato on the side by my eggs - this was the best part of the meal both days, super fresh and delicious tasting. We felt like we had to try a waffle, got a blueberry waffle on the side and split it, with plain syrup - was okay, small waffle pattern, tasty, but got cold quickly with cold plates. On second visit, got the hash browns, and my friend got the hash brown bowl, both good. Coffee just average. Service was excellent, quick, mostly good when delivered but it all got cold very rapidly. Okay place to eat if nearby but a bit sad that so many Waffle House locations saturated the breakfast market and not many other options nearby that could be better. read more

The food is good, the waitstaff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. They serve breakfast all day. Whether you want steak and eggs or biscuits and gravy, everything they have is good eats. My favorite is a triple hashbrowns All The Way. It's a meal in itself. You better be hungry. They are of course famous for their waffles which are golden crispy sweet and delicious. Ok its waffle house,and had been @ this location once before- DURING THE DAY- THIS TIME IT WAS AFTER 10pm-day time service was better than i usually expect from waffle house but now for the evening shit.....waiter couldn't bring my coffee while i perused the menu. Ordered the all star special. Got everything but the waffle, took 10 minutes to get the waffle. Worst waffle house ive been too over the years and trust me, i dont expect 5 star service when i stoop to waffle house. Usually this WH is on point, but this particular night was not it. We had our mouths watering for the tried and true All-American special. Simple enough right, well if you look at the pics I am still wondering why we were served water in small(Kiddie glasses) when everyone else in the restaurant received regular glasses. We love our water....Next, I order my normal waffle a little dark because I do not like tasting doughy batter mix and I repeated my order to ensure it was heard. Did my order come to the table correctly?? ONE GUESS!!. It comes out gooey and not cooked thoroughly..hey stuff happens so I politely asked could they take this back and make it a little darker. I was informed that another waffle would have to be made and it will take a bit because only two waffle griddles were working. horrible service, waited an hour for foor. said they had no lemons but had multiple in fridge. food was cold. don't recommend. had no waffle house sauce... got here at 11am its now 12:30 and we are still here. left tables dirty the whole time we were here. they aren't busy at all. read more

I come here when I'm hungry and don't want to mess around waiting for a brunch table and $20+ per person bill. For a place that's as commonplace as a Mickey D's, Waffle House is kind of that place you kind of take for granted. You know it's there, you know it's good and fast but you keep driving past it on the highway 'cause of course there'll be another one in 10 miles. I kinda wish I could collect mugs from each Waffle House location or antenna balls to just say, "yeah, I've been here" like a Hard Rock t-shirt. Everything on the menu is so incredibly cheap, I sometimes order too much just so I don't feel bad paying with a credit card. I am in awe of how the servers and short order cooks make things happen behind the scene. I took a moment to listen to them shouting orders and even with my 10 years of management experience, I found it baffling. There are hands, margarine packets, coffee pots, papers, and syrup flying from all over amidst the sound of plastic and metal clanging. The staff here is just so darn friendly and don't bs with you. They don't waste time schmoozing or making pointless small talk. They get your order, fill your coffee cup and clear your plates without even stopping their beeline back to the kitchen. When you walk in, sit your butt down, grab a menu and order quick. Get a waffle, a plate of hash browns with everything on it and a side of grits. They're all good. Trust me. 25/2014 read more
