With all the Teriyaki bowls and flame broiler locations popping up, what makes this Waba Grill different? A slight difference in options, and just a tad bit cheaper. This place is good because it is consistent in its freshness, the sauces, and the fact that you can choose other rices, sides, and such. Some other teriyaki places end up having really oily rice and I hate that. I enjoyed the chicken/beef bowls with some added hot sauce on the side. If you go here with a coupon you will be pleasantly surprised being able to feed two people for about 4 bucks each- good times! Stay healthy and come here for a meal. read more

Food is amazing but this review based solely on service. I said Brown rice and For here and got white rice to go. It's not a big deal, I still ate the food but it shows that she didn't care to listen to what I was saying which says a lot about a person and reflects badly on the company. She didn't repeat my order which made me assume she had it right. I shouldn't have to correct, they should just not get it wrong. Its pretty clean saucy teriyaki. Its not my favorite, but its a solid choice when I'm hungry. The menu is really sparse though. I wish there was a way to get a large bowl. The plate seems to be the same as a bowl, except with salad and some other small items. read more

First of all, I love Waba Grill for their healthy choices. I usually get the salmon veggie bowl, brown rice, no onions, no sauce. Their bowls definitely beat Flame Broiler any day. More flavor and never dry. Not busy but expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes for your bowl. So unless you have the time I suggest placing your order over the phone. So why the 2 stars? You would think that every chain store is all in the same. But I'm a stickler for great customer service. Last night I called to see what time they closed and the lady said 9PM. I arrive at 8:50PM happy that I made it in time. Customers are mingling outside and some still dining inside. I walk up to the register and the cashier doesn't even look up to acknowledge my presence as she is counting her pennies. I patiently wait then she finally looks up at me and says, "Credit card only okay?".. I let her know I only have cash and I don't exactly live super close. She walks over to look at the clock and rudely tells me, "No we're ALMOST closed! Credit card only because I already counted my change okay?!" Lazy ass! You have 10 minutes left and the store was clearly still open. I was so annoyed and made my way down to the West Covina location where they were super nice and open til 9:30 btw! I come here multiple times a month for lunch because it's close to my work. Food has always been fast and good, but the customer service is lacking. Most of the tome, I'm attended by The cashier Mariana. She is just very serious and blunt, never smiles. Which makes the environment feel unwelcoming. This is my second time coming to this location first time I went the girl was so nice pleasant and just sweet. Well today when I went in the lady(older lady) who took my order was just rude. She was so rude when i gave her my money I had in a way that she could notice I was giving her change she then snatched the money from my hand, when she calls my number she just has this nasty attitude. This place is just like Flame Broiler except the portions are bigger. They also do a salmon plate and you can add avocado to any dish. I'm not sure how the prices compare though. It's a clean, fairly spacious restaurant. You can dine in or take out. My only gripe is that 80% of the time our take out order is incorrect. People working at this place don't have any costumer service skills, they are rude and never say please or thank you! The two girls at the register are always either angry who knows!!! They both run credit cards and throw the receipt and pen so you sign it without saying a word! They both need better training to be polite and make costumers feel welcome. Never Going Bad Customer Service! First of all online it says it closes at 9pm but they dont they close at 8pm .. I purposely picked this one because it's close to home and I was getting food for my mom who is sick so when I arrive there minutes BEFORE 8am they closed the doors already then when they opened the door to explain to me that they're close mined it's still before 8pm they still did not want to assist me. Got the chicken and steak half half veg plate for $9.95 with brown rice. Penny savers has a coupon online for buy 1 plate and drink and get a chicken bowl free (expires end of march). So I did that. FIrst and foremost, this place is WAY BETTER THAN THE FLAME BROILER! Not only is the food more flavorful, you get more bang for your buck here, no doubt about it! Everything about Waba Grill is better than the Flame Broiler. Their chicken, beef, brown rice and even teriyaki sauce leaves Flame Broiler in the dust. Service is fast and efficient. This particular location is clean, spacious, great lighting and has plenty of parking. Nice thing about this place is that there are plenty of available seats and it isn't too busy, which makes it also a good place to study. My hubby and I like eating here when we are too lazy to cook, which happens to be often! :) read more
