food was beyond fresh and surprisingly good! i haven't had waba in a few years due to food previously being over charred but i can definitively say they've upped their game since. i ordered the waba bowl with brown rice and veggies but was surprised by how generous their portions are. compared to yoshinoya, waba is sooo much more worth it due to the bowl not having an indent (to create the illusion of more when there's actually less). i placed a mobile order and they were really fast with my food being ready! i was given an estimate of 10 minutes and it was actually ready in less time. i cannot comment about the restaurant's ambiance (as i took my order for to go) but it is situated on valley and lemon near usps. the restaurant was quiet and had one crew member who was very helpful when i came in. i was in and out in less than 2 minutes! one suggestion is definitely have is to order from the mobile app after creating a rewards account. there's a max $10 off coupon for your initial order! it was able to save me a lot of money ;) read more

I am bummed they no longer have the bottle of garlic sauce you get self serve but I'm sure people were abusing that privilege. I purchased a chicken bowl with double white meet with no sauce; they gave me the order with sauce. I advised the person at the counter, so she gave it back to the cook to re make, I watched him remove the chicken from the veggies, wash the chicken place it back on the grill for 30 seconds than placed it all back on the veggies that had sauce all over them. I told the server this was not right she said that it is not her and that it is the fault of the cook. I asked who the manager was, she said it was me never offered to re make it, never said sorry or try to fix the situation, she acted like it is what it is. I sated I wanted to file a complaint she said that I had to go online to do that, I asked to talk to someone else she said she is the manager and her name is GiGi. They refused to let me substitute veggies instead of rice for the chicken bowl, even though I made it very clear I was willing to pay the upgrade charge. I explained I am diabetic and cannot eat the rice as it spikes my blood sugar. I explained I feel this is discrimination against me because of my medical condition. I asked to speak to the manager, Jolesa was very short, and very rude, and was not interested in listening to me at all, or considering my request to simply pay the upgrade from rice to veggies. I asked the Manager, Jolesa for the number to contact customer service. She refused to give it to me, and said I'd have to look it up on my own. Very horrible customer service experience! The teriyaki sauce is very good, and I don't get a migraine headache from it, unlike other places. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Wow, I've underestimated this establishment! I never really craved for Waba Grill but their teriyaki chicken is THE BOMB! Super close by to my bf's work place and he remembered there was a deal going on right now: 2 chicken bowls for $10! The usual price is about ~$6-$7 for a chicken bowl so it's definitely worth it to get on it! Service was impeccable! Amazing employees who were all smiling and the food came out so quick! I went into the restroom just to wash my hands and both of the bowls already came out! Parking is plentiful and so are the tables to dine in at! Ordered an online pickup just in time for NBA playoffs. Ordered approximately 20 mins before hand and by the time I got there food was fresh and ready to eat. The guy server provided a fairly accommodating experience, explaining other aspects of the menu and providing me with enough utensils and napkins for the family. In terms of food quality, pretty standard in regards expectations of Waba Grill. I ordered the Steak bowl which was fairly juicy and a slight char/grill flavor to it. Veggies were just steamed and the rice was okay (I prefer sticky rice). Would advise getting Waba sauce though or else rice/veggies might be on the drier side. read more

I have been to this location 4 times and EVERY time I have an issue with the phones and contacting to pick up my to go order. I see the employees blatantly ignore the phone with no customers. I know this because I was waiting 1 hour outside for my food the first visit and they forgot my order. One time the door was locked I called about 7 times to pick up an order and no one answered. I went home because all 3 employees were staring at me when I was knocking and waving hello to ask them about my online order, then proceeded to ignore me. I waited 10 more minutes and the employees left out their designated door. The one time I finally got hold of someone (maybe like third visit) on the phone for pick up I mentioned that the phones were maybe not working (giving the benefit of the doubt) down and the person avoided the statement. 3.5 stars Nearby, there are so many options for Teriyaki chicken... stemming from Flame Broiler, Yoshinoya, Ninja Sushi, and WaBa Grill. Different variations and flavors. Have always passed by a WaBa Grill but never been inside until this past week. Our workplace received a few coupons and I thought what better time than to try it now! Headed after work, and there was only one table of customers... A bit weary but maybe people like to order to-go. Ordered the chicken bowl and it came with another chicken bowl along with 2 drinks. Brown rice is offered at no additional cost and also have the option to have green onions topped on the chicken. There were no other veggies in the bowl. There are condiments next to the soda fountain machine, sauces, hot sauces, and more green onions. Compared to Flame Broiler, the rice isn't as much but the pieces of chicken are also more thinly sliced and dry BUT the chicken here are actually grilled and taste more akin to teriyaki chicken than either Flame Broiler or Yoshinoya. For the price, it is a bit pricey as there is only chicken and rice, no veggies and etc. Lots of protein but it is healthier fast food alternative. Food isn't life changing but if we have coupons, we may consider returning. read more

I personally love WaBa Grill more than Flame Broiler (sorry to all you FB fans out there! LOL). Back when I used to eat meat I felt that they would marinate their meat better than any other "fast food" bowl spot. Plus I've always gotten good luck in regards to how much veggies they pack in! This one is very convenient for me (5 minutes from home and work!). Every time I've come in the facility has been tidy, all of the condiments are fully stocked and sitting on fresh ice (they put the onions and jalapeños on ice to keep them cool). And the workers (mainly the cashier) has always been very polite and friendly while ordering. Currently my favorite thing to get is their tofu veggie bowl. I do ask them for no sauce because I still haven't been able to find out if their sauce is vegan or not but the bowl comes with tofu, rice, veggies, and I ALWAYS add avocado (they give you half an avocado when you order it....JACKPOT!!!). They do grill their tofu so sometimes I do get thrown off and think they gave me chicken on accident but it's always correct. Last time I ordered here I actually called in my order and it was ready in 15 minutes. I ran in paid for it and I was on my way! The topper is there's a Starbucks and a bakery right next store you can grab yourself some dessert and a tea once you've finished you're meal. This rating is based on service alone. This location is the closest to my home, so it is highly unfortunate that the service has been so terrible lately. The two most recent incidents are what prompted the review. 1. I see an ad for the dumplings which I had been craving. I pick up my order and get home only to find that the dumpling sauce was missing. When I called I was informed that the sauce should have come with the order, but no real apology was given for leaving it out and if I wanted to go back to the store to get the sauce I could do so but would have to bring my receipt. 2. Now this happens often, but I called to place the order and no one picked up. It is 8pm and I'm under the impression that this place closes at 9pm. Needless to say, I won't be going back here. This place is similar to flame broiler except a little better. This is a great place to order something on the healthier side. I do enjoy a chicken bowl here and there. The chicken bowl is great here because the chicken taste fresh and not burnt (compared to flame boiler). I dislike the taste of burnt meat. Also, I like how they have japalenos on the side and unlimited green onions. YUM. I tried the salmon salad. The piece of salmon was a decent size and had teriyaki sauce on it and It was cooked to perfection! Next time, I probably get the salmon bowl because the the lettuce was just EHHehhh... I expected better and more leafy greens. Overall quality of the food was decent. Ordered the half-half bowl which consisted of beef and chicken. Also added half an avocado to the order ( extra 1.60) The chicken was a little bit towards the dry side and the beef was way too salty for my taste, I help having to gulp down extra water to counter the saltiness in my mouth. I don't like writing bad reviews but with the disappointing food and service this restaurant puts out, I am going to share my experiences. Service: staff can barely speak english and when they do you cannot understand them. The lady at the counter spends more time on the phone, talking to people in the back or just standing there totally uninviting and unhelpful when you arrive at the restaurant... Food prep: chicken, beef and everything else is pre cooked. When you order they heat it up on the grill and add tons of that sweet sauce to the meats. Totally kills it. If they took out too much meat then its returned back to the container holding all tje pre cooked meats only to be used again...reason # 1 for the dryness of the meat. Then that same lady at the counter who has been handling your money, cleaning the tables amd talking on the phone puts garnishes on the food before serving it to you.
