Went here after a long day at work and got the kimchi fried rice. The wait was around 15 minutes, and the staff was kind. One thing I did notice was that after I got my food, two girls who came in around 8:30 PM were asked to leave, even though the listed hours for this location are until 9 PM. So just be aware that the kitchen may close earlier than the posted hours. As for the kimchi fried rice, it was okay. I thought it tasted good when I was hungry, but after reheating it later, I didn't enjoy it as much. The atmosphere is nice, although it seemed like there were only about three staff members working. Really disappointed by the service and chicken at this location of bbq chicken. This places gets a 2.3/5 stars from me for multiple reasons. I've been to this location before but my recent purchase at this establishment left me disappointed and wanting to go to a different location. We ordered a large order of chicken and sides via mobile order since I was treating friends for helping me out. When we arrived at the pick up time, the store was packed and had a ton of customers waiting, around 4-5 other orders including us. It was also hot inside as I think the air conditioning was broken or there was way too many people packed into the small establishment. We arrived early and luckily had an early enough pick-up time that we waited around 10 mins for the lady at the counter to bring the food out, ~5 mins after the expected pick up time. A lot of customers were angry that day though as I noticed their pick up time said ready but their food wasn't out. There was also no one at the counter for a long amount of time as I think they were low on staff back of house. When we drove back to our location to eat (5 mins drive), we were disappointed that we were missing one of our sides of cheesing fries ($8). We were on a deadline so it would've been a waste of time to drive back and they were way too busy to call to complain so I lost out on both the food and money which I was a little upset about. The soy garlic chicken was solid and good. A nice balance of sweet and tangy. The hot and spicy wings were alright. The flavor wasn't bad but it didn't suit my tastes. These two were both a little soggy which was alright as we did take out and had a short drive but I was a little surprised as it hadn't ever happened to me before at the Temple City location and the drive was about the same. The golden chicken was personally the worst one. Although it looked crispy, the chicken skin was soggy. I wasn't a big fan of boneless chicken already but it made it taste especially bad. This was the second most disappointing part as we ordered two portions as my friend mentioned he really liked the original chicken. The rose ttebokki was one of the most surprising parts as it tasted savory and creamy. I liked the multi-layered taste of it. I do wish the establishment provided utensils as it was difficult to ask since they were so packed. Overall, the food was just alright and I personally would just stick to my own local spot near me. Not sure if it was just this day that the poor staff were overworked but it definitely affected my and many other's experience. Will not be coming back to this location any time soon. :( read more

Because of that, we spent some time reading reviews for this specific location, and everything we saw here gave us the reassurance to give it a shot. We came at good timing. Most of the people coming in seemed to be picking up takeout orders, including what looked like larger party-sized orders. It was definitely a very busy location. Food: The food tasted good. Service: Considering how busy they were, the service was decent. The staff was clearly focused on preparing and getting orders out as quickly as possible. There wasn't always someone at the counter, and staff mostly came out when someone called for assistance, which felt understandable given how much was going on. We did appreciate that there was hand sanitizer available at the counter. Parking & Location: Located in an outdoor shopping plaza, so parking was easy and plentiful. Today I went to Bbq Chicken and I was quite disappointed. I went in person and before placing my order I asked one of the workers, "how long will it take for the food to be ready?" He responded by saying about "15-20" minutes which is why I decided to place an order since I had enough time to wait. About 25 minutes goes by and my order still isn't ready. When I went inside I was shocked to see that three orders ahead of me got their food before me. It took them an extra ten minutes to get my order out. When I got the food it was warm and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a bit. Wow! I kept seeing this restaurant pop up in my area, but the one closest to my office closed down. I finally got to experience their Korean fried chicken wings and I was impressed. I was doing a bit of shopping so I ordered for pickup ahead of time, looks/sounds like they make to order so I didn't have to wait very long when I arrived. I got the honey garlic wings and I was blown away with 1) the size of the wings (these are some big chickens) and 2) the flavor! It was like of burst of gooey garlic with chicken. It's got the small 8 piece wings. I think I ate 3 and I'm already full. There aren't any combos, so I did have to order my rice on the side, but it does come with pickled radishes so I'm happy. Of the many fried chicken places in the Greater LA area, I heard some very good things about bb.q Chicken and their Korean take on fried chicken. And wanting to give them a try for myself, I decided to try them out on a Friday evening for take-out. Looking at their menu of options, bb.q Chicken had a variety of items ranging from wings to your typical pieces of chicken. And craving a little more, I decided on an order of the Garlic Crunch Half Chicken and an order steamed rice which was about $20.15 at the time of this review. Taking a look at the box of food, I was surprised that the bag included a small serving of pickled daikon. But even with this, it wasn't enough to help the portion size. For being advertised as a "half" chicken, I was expecting legs and thighs to be included with the meal. But to my dismay, there were only 2 legs, about 1 wing, and 5 very small pieces of white meat chicken. I could understand that the flavor could result in an upcharge for the meal. But because the quantity of chicken was very small, I left still feeling hungry. In other words, you could definitely get a larger quantity of chicken for $20. Even though this location is in the Walnut/Diamond Bar area and food tends to cost more, other stores will give more for less. Flavor-wise, the chicken was not terrible. But I would definitely choose another flavor for the next time. For one, the garlic flavor was only on the surface and did not interact with the chicken much at all. In actuality, the chicken had a sweetness to it that made it taste similar to that of a light orange chicken. Because of this, it subverted what was supposed to be a savory garlic flavor. Looking at the meat itself, most of the white meat was dry and did not retain much moisture. Fortunately, the dark meat of the chicken was better and had some moisture to it. But in saying that, it wasn't the juiciest of chicken. Wrapping up the flavor profile, the chicken wasn't terrible and had some good parts to it. But because the flavor was more sweet than garlicy, it was a let down. bb.q Chicken definitely could be a decent spot for the right people. But for me personally, I would order something else if I were to try them again. The price to portion is very steep for what you're being offered, the taste of the chicken was only decent and it did not stand out all too much. I call back doordash the case gets escalated and they deny more refund. Doordash didn't even tell me if they called the restaurant to confirm what they told or not told me. Then I call bb.q chicken back and they tell me they have no control over the refund amount from doordash. Seems like the staff can't communicate the expectations correctly. When someone says refund most people expect a refund of the whole item and not a partial refund unless you tell them that. No more online orders from now on. read more

Ordered an 8 piece Gangnam and 8 piece soy garlic. TIP: we were going to order a 16 piece and wanted to try 2 flavors but they don't do multiple flavors in a single chicken order hence the 2x 8 piece. The wings are prepared when ordered coming out piping hot with a Great crunch and the flavors on point. Gangnam has that slight spice with a sticky garlic oil flavor and the soy garlic has that slightly sweet sticky garlic. Chicken is meaty. I was only able to eat 4 wings -good size wings! Cole slaw was ALMOST like my favorite KFC! The pickled cube cut radishes were refreshing to the palette. They serve canned soda, no fountain. The guy working the front was really helpful and great at suggestions. He was hustling with the orders-lots of online orders. Kudos to the chef cooking and keeping up with all the orders! It's a cute little eatery in a strip mall so you won't lack for parking. But if you're a big group, I strongly suggest getting your food to go because there's not a lot of room inside. I noticed that management thoughtfully placed 3 fans to cool off customers. So despite the 100F heat (and we could only imagine the temperature inside their kitchen) we felt comfortable eating our meal. Our server was thoughtful and gave us all sorts of sauces and palate cleansers like these spicy radishes. Refreshing! The cheesling flavored chicken was a crowd pleaser. My son finished 3/4 of the order. Because I don't like sweet chicken, I devoured the original recipe one and it was delicious! Not too greasy but crispy and juicy. These people know how to do fried chicken really well. The kimchi fried rice with an egg on top was a great flavor to mingle the chicken with. It's a bit pricey though. $14 All in all, we paid $70 for 3 orders of wings and kimchi rice and given the economy, this was reasonable compared to other similar fried chicken restaurants. I know sometimes chicken can take time so I placed a phone order and was told to come pick it up on 30 minutes. So we walk in and checked in with the server she said our order was not ready so we sat inside the store. But yelp had texted me as soon as we sat down that our order was ready but the girl said the order that came out was not ours when I got up to show her my text. So we continued to wait 45 minutes for our food and at this point everyone who was there before and came in after us had left. I just couldn't wait any longer because I was ready to cancel if the order wasn't ready to leave and get something else. Turns out that the order that I saw that sat on top of the counter was OURS. She misread the order somehow and didn't give us our order and our food sat there for 45 minutes after I got up again to recheck with the server.
