Can never go wrong. I get the veggies on the side.

Great location. Friendly staff, clean inside. The food quality is consistent. Ingredients are fresh and orders have been accurate.

Honestly I'm so disappointed. I usually go every week. I had never been more grossed out. If you see on the carrot I took that out of the beef. I had found another 2 of those on my beef while I was digging in my food. The only thing I could think is that I look like legs. Ugh I'm done with this location.

Due to COVID safety there is no dine-in. The chairs are stacked up and there are markers for social distancing. There's quite a bit of room inside so I felt safe ordering and waiting for my food. I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken plate. You have the option of white rice or brown rice. It also includes salad and half an orange. When I got home I noticed they also included their waba sauce, hot sauce and hand sanitizer. I thought it was a nice touch. Overall the food tasted good. They advertise being healthy. They even have a healthy menu which seems to be their current special. Not bad. New Year. New diet haha. I would come again.

Hmmm this is disappointing for me. I asked my husband to buy me food and I specifically asked for this since I've been craving for Waba for so long. I usually buy it from the one in Arroyo Pkwy, Pasadena since I work around there and I always had a great experience. I was anticipating this fresh grilled chicken and soft ribeye steak but instead I was welcomed with dry and burnt meal with a bitter aftertaste. I'm so sad!! I was really looking forward for this. I can't even save it with the waba sauce they provide.

My local WaBa location. Located in one of the big plazas in Monrovia. Small parking in front. Staff were very friendly and gave me a bunch of sauces to try. Food was ready fast. Chicken Bowl - $7.19 - Good flavor in the chicken. I love their hot sauces. The kiddos eat this up like crazy.

Looking for a vegan menu change and so I had heard that WaBa had some great Tofu options. I had the Tofu Bowl but I wish I would have ordered the Tofu vegetable bowl. Either way my bowl was very delicious and putting on the WaBa sauce can make anything taste pretty damn good. My wife had the half & half bowl with white meat for the chicken portion ad they still charge a full dollar [not half] but she was very happy. The food came out pretty fast and everything was hot and delicious, oh I said that already. This location is very clean and it is a great value because I left full and my wife took some home.

Wow I honestly wasn't expecting such a small mom and pop shop to be probably my new favorite…read moreHawaiian spot, but here we are. TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

All the familiar Hawaiian items are here, and then some. They offer A LOT of different dishes, including a whole bunch of dim sum. And their beverage menu is extensive as well, from your basic teas to milk tea boba and slushies. It's pretty impressive how these folks are able to squeeze all this food in this tiny little restaurant. Decided to go with the dish that everyone who has been to Hawaii has eaten at some point: the loco moco. I thought it might be a good way to gauge how authentic their food is. Ordered a side of Portuguese sausage musubi as well. Yeah, I'm a pig. Loco Moco - 5/10: so yeah. This definitely isn't your traditional loco moco, or at least the dish that I grew up eating (808 born and raised). Two patties, mounds of rice, eggs (unfortunately served over hard...should always be over easy so the yolk comes out) side mac salad - check, check, check and check. But then they bury on the bottom of this dish a bunch of stir-fried veggies, which threw me off a bit. This dish ain't supposed to be somewhat healthy. And then they throw a very light brown sauce on it that definitely isn't gravy. More like a brown sauce you'd mix in with pan-fried noodles. Yeah, just not the way this dish is supposed to made. But at least they give you a lot of it! - Portuguese Spam Musubi - 7.5/10: this one was much better. All the elements were there, and yes, they used Portuguese sausages. Hard to screw up musubi, but believe me, it can be done. Two pieces come in an order and they're on the larger side. So yeah, a little disappointed. I will say though that if I'm in the area again, I might order some dim sum. Happy feasting!

I was surprised to read here on Yelp that the original famed chef left for a few years and recently returned, because I did not notice any major changes in the quality of the dishes I usually order. The current manager was my waiter this time, and he said that staffing has been a challenge; he himself also worked here, left , and returned. Colette offers a somewhat non-traditional, somewhat elevated menu, not as varied as other Chinese places, although they do offer dim sum and lunch specials. Note the menu on the website is old and kind of obsolete; the newer menu, which is laminated and has photos, is more extensive. The dish I always order is their fabulous chayote minced pork. I've also ordered their live lobster when I have a hankering. They have the lobsters and crabs in tanks on view, priced per pound. They can prepare it in several ways; I always choose stir-fried with ginger and scallions and add noodles. They also have some specialty dishes like winter melon soup that you must order in advance. I ordered 3 other dishes, only one for the first time. That was honey-glazed beef cubes. Slices of beef covered in sliced almonds on a bed of asparagus with an orange sauce that was similar to orange marmalade. Tasty and unique. The other 2 dishes that I've had before were the golden yolk luffa and the goo-loo pork (aka sweet and sour pork). Luffa is a gourd (like a cucumber) that is edible when young, but turns into the fibrous sponges we bathe with when mature. It's slighty bitter, here stir-fried with salted egg yolk. The pork was pretty traditional, slightly elevated with the addition of strawberries. For me, a reliable neighbourhood spot for Chinese. I hope they can keep it together.

Worried about dry noodles? Don't fret, as they truly pile on the sauce that is both tasty and addictive! Service was satisfactory. There wasn't much to do as we order our own food, but they give you your cutlery and a jug of water at the start so there wasn't a need to ask for anything anyway. The setup was okay. It felt a little cramped and waiting for the toilet while staring at a dirty trash bin wasn't the best start to the meal, but given the space it's understandable. I got the Deluxe Nagoya Mazesoba and my wife got the Original Mazesoba. The original is great but I specifically wanted the seaweed and soft-boiled egg. After a fun mix, I took my first bite and did not stop stuffing myself until the last noodle strand was gone. Seriously, I don't know what they add to it that makes it so addicting but I could not stop eating it. I'm a fast eater usually but even my wife was surprised with my remaining half after her first 2 bites. The sauce would usually be too heavy, but the accompaniments allows the dish to balance itself. It was also not too dry, which is a common worry I have for mixed noodles. At the end of the meal they offer a complimentary rice to mix in with the sauce, though personally I would have preferred a broth as I didn't need the extra carb, but a light broth would have been a great finish. I can see this being a craving, so beware, try it at your own risk... but also run there now!

The first few dishes arrived quickly, and every dish was flavorful and delicious. We especially liked the string beans and the water spinach. The French-style deep-fried fish with basil and black pepper was addictive, and surprisingly it wasn't spicy at all. The shredded free-range chicken tasted fresh, while the eggplant with minced pork clay pot was just okay. The last two dishes took quite a while to arrive after we had already finished most of our meal. The sweet and sour spare ribs flavor was on point. Ambiance alone inside is reminiscent of hanging out at boba shops growing up in the SGV: bright interior, booths and board games, Pokemon and Shrek playing on the TV such a nice vibe to chill with some friends and chat. Most shops nowadays are grab and go so this felt very nostalgic for me. Now for the real hitters: I still am unable to understand how they can serve this food at this price. Beef Wang (16.48) is one of their signature dishes. It sounds really simple on paper, stir fried meat, mushroom, and egg. That's it. I am still wondering how they were able to get such a flavorful bowl from a simple dish and on a perfectly cooked bed of way too much rice so you can enjoy leftovers at home. Super Sea Nachos (35): Our party of 5 ordered our own bowls and shared this thinning it was going to be a simple appetizer. The avocado alone we joked shoulda been 35 . An assembly of tuna, shrimp, imitation crab, with wonton nachos was the perfect fresh accompaniment with the rice bowl. They do not skimp at all on the nachos or seafood and no doubt I'd share another tray with friends another day. They are not the most extravagant dishes, but honestly the quality, comfort, ambience, and value makes this one of my favorite sit down experiences recently.
