Good drinks. The bar was busy and the bartender worked hard to keep drinks and snacks coming.

The buns on the appetizer menu are a must order. The half chicken is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted in my life. You absolutely have to get the fried rice, it is spectacular, and the tacos are unbelievable. The flavors and presentation make every dish feel like a work of art. Our server, Jacob, made the experience even more memorable. His warmth, professionalism, and exceptional service are a true testament to how someone should represent a restaurant's brand. He was absolutely outstanding and deserves recognition. Wayward, you have created something special. Incredible food and equally incredible service. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

My family and I came to check it out, and we all really enjoyed it. The menu is such a cool fusion of Asian and Mexican/Latin flavors -- definitely different, but in the best way. We ordered the pork carnitas board, and it was AWESOME. Calling it "carnitas" almost doesn't do it justice because the pork reminded me more of a super meaty pork belly -- tender, flavorful, and there was a TON of it. There were four of us sharing, and we still had leftovers! The homemade blue corn tortillas were amazing, and I loved all the different sauces. They had that Asian-fusion flavor with a Latin spin that somehow just worked. And give me ALL the pickled veggies! The pickled slaw and vegetables added that perfect tangy crunch to the rich pork and really balanced everything out. The kimchi rice on the side was another fun touch and went perfectly with the whole meal. It's a small, laid-back spot, and there was a one-man band playing acoustic guitar and singing some great classic songs while we were there, which made the atmosphere even better. Nothing stuffy or overdone -- just relaxed, good food, good music, and a really enjoyable night. Definitely glad TikTok led us to this little hidden gem. I'm happy we tried it, and I would absolutely go back!

The Oaxaca Asada- perfectly savory and balanced- wow. Pornstar Highball- crushable- all the flavors of a pornstar martini but so delicious and more approachable. Monsoon Season- spicy clarified mai tai- loved that you could specify the spice level. Garrett and Kenzey went above and beyond with service. I also got to try the strawberry fernet and Anna's play on a daiquiri and her exquisite bramble shot. Everything was thoughtful- balanced and above and beyond in the flavor department. It's nice to see this bar crank on a busy Saturday. I cannot wait to be back and try more cocktails. Truly pushing the boundaries and the cocktails truly were the best I have tried in the past two years in Phoenix. Keep it up Sunny's - I will be back ASAP.

They do classic cocktails with an elevated twist (I opted for an amaretto sour). Everything we had was incredible, and the hot dogs my friend ordered for the table were massive, haha. Service is friendly and everyone was very informed and honest about the taste of drinks! I appreciated that as I'm a sweet drink enjoyer- the bartender steered me in the right direction. Will definitely be back!

When my wife and I stayed at the Royal Palms for an anniversary getaway this Fall, we enjoyed…read morelearning about different events taking place around the resort. One of our favorites was a mixology class at the Mix Up Bar, which we had included in our resort stay. The regular price was $50 per person. We also enjoyed welcome cocktails and happy hour snacks and drinks at different points of our stay. The staff and bartenders were great, and we enjoyed knowing that the Mix Up Bar was open even when the restaurant wasn't. The mixology class was led by the Mix Up Bar's creative team of mixologies who taught us how to shake up one of their signature cocktails, so we could recreate it at home. We watched and learned from their skills while they shared tips, tricks and suggestions along the way to craft the perfect cocktail. There were only six of us going through the class (though we certainly recommend to make a reservation in advance for the class or speak to the front desk to see if they can help you confirm a space if it's full). We each got to choose which signature cocktail we wanted to learn to make. The class was 30 minutes, and the bartender placed everything we needed to make the cocktail right in front of us and walked us through step-by-step. While I cannot recall what my signature cocktail was called, my wife learned to make a Lavender Lady, a blend of vodka, local honey and lemon. While I enjoyed what I made, I came back to try a Lavender Lady another time while at the resort. The Mix Up Bar serves food and drinks beyond signature cocktails. The bites include wings, short rib arancini, bruschetta, truffle fries, charcuterie, hummus, crab cake, salads, tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. The drinks include everything you'd have at any other bar. Happy hour specials are daily from 4-6 PM and include 50% off all bites and salads, $3 off draft beers, $4 off wines by the glass, and $3 off specialty cocktails.

Lovely ambiance and not too busy even on the weekend. Great happy hour deal but other than that the…read moreprice is a bit high for what you get. We stayed at the resort and decided to do the free mixology class which was very unorganized as the bartender kept getting distracted making drinks for other customers instead of instructing the class, but we made a tasty cocktail--the influencer. I would not recommend paying for this class ($50 pp if you aren't a hotel guest) but if you are a guest, it's an interesting activity.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!
