Vons is my favorite supermarket. This is where I buy everything I need. I hope they don't get bought out by a competing market.

I have been a 15-year customer. Recently I have noticed a decline in customer service and quality of deli food. We stopped coming in and have gone to Ralph's. Today I came back to give them another chance. I waited by the deli, said hi to lady preparing sushi. Didnt reply, she had airpods on. Gave her a few minutes maybe she's busy. I said hi again, she said "Wait". She kept making sushi. 5mins went by and another lady finally noticed and asked if I needed help? So I purchased regular chicken wings and salt & vinegar. I get home only to realize the regular wings were old, tough& dry. read more

They never have enough check outs open, no self check out and many times no express check out. Go here if you enjoy standing in lines, otherwise try Ralph's just down the street that also has self checkout! read more

I've learned my lesson & shall not be coming back here until they get some self checkout machines. Absurd the waits for 2 items. Additional note: I can not figure out how to respond to the comment by the business on my post, but I wanted to say that I very much appreciate how quick they are to respond. Thank you to them for relaying the message to the store. There are maybe 7 checkout lines closed when I seem to go in & only 2 lanes open. Never fails that the express line gets held up for some reason or another & it becomes much too long of a wait for a couple items. Seems like there is so much room to take out one of those unused checkout lanes & put in at least a few self checkout machines. Would make things incredibly more smooth. If I can rate them zero starts I would... Absolutely crappy store, all around horrible customer service. Not a single worker cares or puts any effort in. I don't know how they keep the seafood open. You can clearly see the slimy shrimp and they haven't replaced it in days! The bakery department, that manager is absolutely rude and when you ask them to slice bread, they roll their eyes. The produce falls short ever time I go with mold produce and the workers have inappropriate conversations on the sales floor! The cashier's are garbage! No customer service effort what so ever... Ronna is the absolute worst. The last time I went to that store the store manager was awful (short blonde lady with waaaaaay too much makeup on). I don't know how she became a manager but she needs to go. they need to revaluate how they promote or hire people. Their Corporate needs to step it up! read more

It's truly amazing how well organized and clean is Vons was this evening. First time in this location and it was phenomenal! The deli man was super friendly and attentive. Got my orders right and cut out deli meats right! The bread section is amazing! We got that cheesecake sliced whole wheat bread with a few pounds of buffalo chicken, sliced salami and provolone cheese.We also got other weekly grocery things for our daily living. Store was clean, the cashiers had these amazing little stickers letting the customer know they had no fever, or symptoms with their image and date on it. The isles seemed to be well stocked and there was plenty of people running online orders. Mellisa in the meat department was truly amazing. She got my meat orders right and even allowed me to pre-look at most of the pieces of meat prior to bagging. I would definitely shop here again! Specially now during covid. Parking was easy and fast. Shopping carts were clean and Available inside the store. Hand sanitizer available in any places. read more

Bought a pound of shrimp (deveined and peeled) earlier this week for $8.99 per pound. Kept it in the fridge for two days. When I took them out and cleaned them today, they were super slimy and had a strong fishy odor. I have been eating seafood all my life, but this is the first time I encountered shrimps like this. Silly me to ignore the red flags and went ahead and and cooked the shrimps! They tasted so awful that I may not want to ever eat shrimps again!! BTW, the cashier also charged me for 3 plastic bags although I brought my own reusable bag that day! read more

A clean and friendly store. I only go here about twice a year, but I have been doing so for many years. This is the store near where we stay when visiting family in the area. The have good parking and keep the lines moving. The staff seems happier here then in many places. Everyone was very cheerful and helpful early this Thanksgiving morning. My Son and I went to this location last night, and tried to purchase 4 Star Wars reusable shopping bags as they were advertised as .99 cents, and the "price clearly marked above the bags" as such. The cashier then rang them up as $2.99 a piece??? I showed her the display saying they were .99 cents where we picked them up from, and she at that time called over a very incredibly RUDE, and uncaring manager named BRIAN who had an incredibly awful attitude to say the least....she told him the issue with the price difference, and he himself saw these bags were in fact marked as .99 cents...Brian then proceeded to ripping the .99 cent tag off the display, and informed me that he was only honoring "1 single bag" to be purchased as THEIR advertised price of .99 cents (we were buying 4) I was shocked! I told him they should honor all of the bags as .99 cents as that is how it is marked. He refused, and again stated I'm only giving you one bag at .99 cents. All I have to say is this isn't about the money thing here...it's the point of what is right. These bags were displayed at .99 cents, and were being sold as $2.99. The manager Brian should not be in any form of customer service as he's one of the rudest, most uncaring person I think I've ever met as a manager. I'm sorry he's soooo incredibly unhappy with his sad life that he has to treat customers like some sort of troll under the stairs. I absolutely will NOT shop at this location again due to this manager!!! Hey Brian...why don't you go get another job where you don't have to interact with any people at all since you hate your life so much. I am avid California scratchers player and this location is the worst in terms of refilling scratchers. As you can see from the picture below, it has been like that for more than a week. I walked to Vons from my house for exercise and always grab a couple of scratchers to pad my shoulder as a "reward". But this location never never keep scratchers in stock. In comparison with Vons in Newhall, complete different story. Please restock in a reasonable time frame . I have asked numerous time to ask front managers and they just shrugged off. I just rushed out to get refreshments for TV basketball game televised live on Spectrum Sportsnet Cable channel #318 from 9:00 to 11:00 PM but there was only one checkout line open with 15 or more customers waiting to check out so after asking why but no one could tell me why so I left immediately and shopped instead at Ralph's where there was no checkout line and made my purchase! Why is Vons service so bad you made me feel like leaving and shopped at Ralphs and was in n out of there with my groceries in 10 minutes n no wait in checkout line? I wont go back to Vons and will tell all shoppers of this bad experience I just had! What can you do about this Lack of Service and disrespect to your good customers standing in line? I just wanted to say that Ronna the cashier has the worst attitude i have not only witnessed at this store, but of any store period. She literally just says "do you want a bag?" No smile. Not a simple hello. Just "do you want a bag?" Then she literally hands you the receipt without saying a word. The supervisors need to talk to her about customer service for all people. read more

I have a service dog for a medical condition. A worker by the name of Leslie rudely demanded I showed her paperwork. When I explained to her this is against ADA policy she tried to kick me out and threatened to phone the police on me. I was shocked and quickly pulled up the ADA government site. She read that she is only allowed to ask what tasks he performs and then asked me with the nastiest tone ever what she is supposed to tell other customers. I told her that is not my problem and that she could tell them he is a service dog. I left embarrassed and without paying for my items. If you have a disability I would recommend avoiding this store. I'm so sick of being bullied by employees who don't even know the law because of my service dog it makes me wanna stay at home. read more

This Vons store is awesome, and they have a couple of superstar employees that make the experience feel like going to a small town store. Excellent customer service! Susan the Pharmacist and the entire staff provide excellent, personalized service. My Mom is a "regular", and they always refer to her by name when she approaches which makes her feel like a million bucks. The extra care they take to explain medicines and interactions to her as an elderly patient is heartwarming. Mom had received an umbrella as a gift and it was difficult for her to open. The friend who gifted it said she had purchased it from Vons. The store manager allowed Mom to exchange the umbrella and upgrade to an automatic opening style for just the price difference. No receipt and no questions. He was very accommodating! A couple of weeks ago I needed to order a nut-free chocolate and caramel cake for my nephew's birthday. I didn't have time to make it myself, and after calling all of the local "custom" bakeries, was dismayed to learn that NONE of them could or would be able to help because they didn't work with caramel. Really? A week's notice and with the prices they charge, caramel was just out of the realm of possibility? I was shocked. While perusing recipes via Google and wondering how I was going to get it done, I remembered seeing the bakery in the Vons store and took a chance. I spoke to the most delightful and helpful young lady named Shyla who confirmed they had the caramel on hand, and asked, "how would you like us to make this for you?". That's what I had expected from the "foo foo" custom bakeries in Santa Clarita.. not from a grocery store bakery. So instead of paying well over $60 for the birthday cake, I got the custom ordered chocolate cake with chocolate chips, with caramel filling, chocolate buttercream around the sides and caramel buttercream on top and drizzled down the sides. For $15 and with the friendliest service! It was delicious! (see pics posted) I'll admit I can be a little foodie-snobby, but this was good! Everyone loved it and I understand there was nothing left of it by the following day. It was so good, hubby is requesting this for HIS birthday cake this coming weekend! If you have bakery needs, give Shyla a call. She's amazing and takes great pride in her work. She's very eager to make the customer happy! I live in Stevenson Ranch and this Vons is much better than the Ralph's in our neighborhood. Better selection and store looks more up to date with the exception of self check out. HOWEVER they need to enforce the mask rule. Management needs to meet with floor and stocking staff to speak up when they see customers with no mask. I've been in the store on so many occasions to see people not wearing a face mask. Clearly customers walk in wearing one and than slide them off. They need to make their customers feel safe while shopping. Aside from that good store. read more

This location is the best grocery store in town. I've lived in Stevenson Ranch for 10 years and I can honestly say that they have one of the cleanest, absolutely organized aisles and fresh food. I'm writing this review for Eric and only Eric, the man who works at the deli I'm pretty sure. Honestly I don't think anyone can top his friendliness and warmness. His customer service is beyond remarkable and his kindness really shines. I come to the store in hopes to see him just because he makes my day better and I know people who I come with think the same. I love this store and come here a lot being a family of six. Was at the counter getting peppered turkey at the deli. I think her name was Natasha maybe. A friend of hers came up and wanted to chat. Horrible. I went there for the chicken sale and thought I'd do the rest of my grocery shopping there. Grocery store was small. No one came out at the butcher section when I rang the bell. I rang twice and no one came. Products especially fruits and veggies were more expensive than other competitors. The clerk was a clerk nothing more and no greeting. The deli is very good, tthe produce is good and the clerks very helpful (ask for something out of the back and they will be glad to help) he bakery is exceptional and the butcher shop employees are world class--very helpful and knowledgeable. My family especially loves Tommy (who doesn't) and Sandy (not always there, but very nice). Everyone from top to bottom is the best. Obviously very well trained. 300% better than the Ralph's down the street, which I wouldn't go in for a bottle of water if my pants were on fire...and the prices are much better at Vons as well. read more

I have shopped at this location for over 20 years. I have always had great customer service, prices were competitive and employees were so helpful. My visits during the last few months have made me decide to finally direct my bigger shopping trips elsewhere. There are still some great employees there- but somehow I keep getting the unhelpful ones. Last trip- I was buying meat in the deli with employee help. Another employee- who was not involved- walked by and added comments that weren't helpful- or asked for. Next- I was in line at a checkout lane and no one was in the express lane next to me. The express lane doesn't say what the maximum item limit is. I didn't go there since I had over 10 items. There was a cashier there but no customers anywhere near there. I asked if she was open- and she said only if I had less than 15 items. I had 17 items. She then proceeded to get a snack from her checkout line and waited for a customer. I try to avoid this cashier as I've had her in the past and she always looks mad and never speaks to anyone. I've had friends who have told me the same about her. I used to always love shopping here with the friendly and helpful employees but I guess most of them are gone now. This shout out is definitely for JUSTIN AMES and BRIAN and RYAN. Life is really all about relationship, right? And Justin Ames and Brian (I apologize Brian for forgetting your last name) get it. Vons has a dry cleaning sub-business in their store where it is really convenient to drop off your dry cleaning clothes, plus it's right around the corner from where I live. I dropped off 4 shirts to be laundered and received 3 shirts. Ryan was my first contact that evening after a long day at work. Ryan was very receptive and told me he'd follow up and find out where my shirt would be, and more so the bag that we put our dirty laundry was not attached, too, that he'd find it for me. Didn't hear from Ryan but a Tiff followed up the following day and told me that there is no missing shirt and that she'd follow up. She never followed up. Instead she insisted that I was wrong! I met Justine Ames to pick up a couple of shirts and he said for all the trouble that I went through (after I told him what had happened to my lost shirt) that my bill for my laundry is GRATIS! "This one is on the house, Ed" Justin said. See folks! Justin Ames gets it. He gets it that I'm a valued customer, and that life is all about relationship. Thank you, Justin, for "listening" to me. Obviously it wasn't the cost of the shirt that was missing but Justin understood the value of a customer -- which is for life! Brian, who is the store manager, understood my complaint, too, and he said to go out and buy my shirt and give him the receipt and he'll reimburse me for the cost of my lost shirt!
