Terrible manners from pharmacists, especially the one lady which grey streaks of hair, always snaps at customers . I was in line and the poor lady in front of me came to check on her prescription and this pharmacist completely belittled her for even assuming that her prescription might be ready before 1200 pm on the day it was scheduled. "DID THE APP SAY IT WAS READY????" ... "DID YOU GET THE NOTIFICATION????" Ugh, the worst. This isn't the first time I have seen this from them either. The market is generally well stocked and clean. The pharmacy staff is good and friendly but I miss the old timers. The service deli is way below average in my opinion. The prepared foods are meh in my view and I find it often that they run out of items like chicken tenders. More could be made but proactivity is not practiced. I find the bearded fellow with glasses, who works the afternoons, caustic and unfriendly. He upbraided his younger colleague for giving me two chicken breasts as a part of a special. The sign on the counter said 2 pieces but did not limit to specific pieces. This guy was very unprofessional in both respects. Honestly this is my neighborhood grocery store and I hate to shop here. They are constantly out of things, no one is helpful and when I paid for items that didn't get put into my bag I went back to the store and was told to take it up with the cashier. What is that? I wish Gleason's pharmacy was here. The worst customer service in planet! Waited in line for 49 min and they told my husband there was nothing for me! I called in and the woman said oh we have something for you! I'm like than why did you say you have nothing? So she told me to go to drop off on Saturday and pick up my medication! I went there today and the guys said there is no manager and I have to date in line which was at least 12 people in it! I transferred my meds to CVS and will never go there again! My new neighborhood Vons is a winner so far! Like the in house full Starbucks! Their produce is good. Meat and seafood counter is superior to any other store in their class. The pharmacists are knowledgeable and kind. Many of the techs are helpful and patient which is important when dealing with patients who are suffering. Vons can be efficient but there are times you are leaving empty handed because they seem to not be ready or they may not believe in the patients and always have to check with the doctor even if they have a prescription sent directly to the doctor. My neighborhood store..... Since Albertsons closed several years ago I've been going to Vons.... I have finally gotten used to the store (I'm a creature of habit). Anyway the store looks great most of the time and several of the cashiers are really nice specially Chris. He is always smiling and if he happens to be by the entrance he greets people walking in. I love the Starbucks inside Vons too, they make my specialty drink better than the actual Starbucks in the shopping center and the staff is nice as well. read more

Check out and other employees with sour faces, Apparently they never heard of the words "thank you" or "You're welcome". And the very worst is the "prison warden" (she should be) in control of the customers 6 ft. apart rule. Long stringy grey hair with mostly hand on hips, if she isn't controlling the "troops". She bellows in an angry voice and hand movements to put people in "their place". Yes, we all know there is a virus and I'm sure everybody tries their best. Do the customers really need extra stress to be treated like like 5 year old naughty children? I hope your customers remember this when things get back to normal. Accuracy across the board has improved, but J4U app inaccuracies are still prevalent at all stores. It's become my own little Monopoly game to uncover the winning coupon fail, which will net at least $5 according to their overcharging policy (dont let them tell you otherwise). But, I'd be just as happy if I didn't have to go through the hassle and pricing was straight. Boring but consistent is fine, too. No personnel problems to report. All checkers, baggers and admin have been good. Pricing is still competitive and of course they slay Gelsons on nearly everything. I should have known better. Stopped in and picked up raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Ended up being the worst fruit purchase in a long time. Raspberries were moldy, blueberries soft and bland, and blackberries too hard and sour. On top of that, I punched in $20 cash back with my debit card purchase. The cashier dude tried to just give me the receipt at the end without my cash, EVEN THOUGH THE REGISTER POPS OPEN AUTOMATICALLY TO TELL YOU TO GIVE CHANGE. This review is specifically for the pharmacy; I take a lot of medications due to an inflammatory condition, and every staff member here--Mirian, Lisa, Jeff, Chris, Soumaya, and the rest--are unfailingly polite, engaged, and eager to help. I've stood in line and watched customers berate the staff over something completely not their fault--if an insurance company won't pay for a prescription, shouldn't you be calling the insurance company rather than taking it out on the staff?--and the staff remains polite and respectful. Prescriptions are nearly always done in a reasonable amount of time, and when they aren't, it's for good reason. The staff are on a first-name basis with a staggering number of customers, familiar with their situations and needs, and always patient and kind. As another reviewer noted, this is especially important when customers are ill or suffering. It's my impression that corporate severely understaffs this pharmacy, but the staff works hard to get the job done while remaining professional and caring. This really stands out in this Vons, where the pharmacy staff's friendly customer service attitude does not seem to have spread to the front end and cashiers (with a couple of exceptions). Really glad I have this pharmacy to come to for my prescriptions. read more

Alright, my family and I have been shopping at this Vons for years, so it is about time I reviewed it. It is your typical Vons, but the location has a bank (can't remember the name), Starbucks, Panda Express, and Redbox as well. The bakery is phenomenal, and they have a nice variety of goods. Customer service is mediocre, but I personally believe it has improved over the years. There is plenty of parking, but the parking lot can be a hassle to navigate through especially on weekends. read more

People are stressed with the Coronavirus, I get it... but the last thing they need is rude help. This morning the tension in this store was chaotic, shoppers attempting to stay 6ft in a impossible situation didn't help, but at the self serve check out the woman there (dark hair, possibly Hispanic.) I believe she functionally did her job and seemingly well responding to four machines and cleaning them to... but the way she spoke to me and other customers seemed off. For me personally, even during a pandemic I expect more from a store I've shopped at for FORTY years! I expect Vons management to have personable cashiers even in these difficult times, if not just close we will all just go elsewhere. I don't need the added stress from a cashier! People are there to buy groceries to feed their family or enjoy the weekend or holiday and she makes to whole check out process miserable. I have been shopping here for 11 years. I find that most of the employees are very customer service oriented; the store is always in good shape and well stocked at least before the COVID hysteria. The level of help from the staff is wonderful. I once was looking for something, the young man did not know where it was, I said "never mind" and later he found me in the store and BROUGHT IT TO ME when I was in line. The cashiers are friendly and helpful. I always try to get in Ros, Maria, or Amit's line, as they are efficient and knowledgeable. Amit is very careful with his bagging. I have been shopping at Vons in Thousand Oaks, (Arboles) for over 15 years. I mainly shop there because of the convenient location and overall good prices. I have never written a review for this store but decided that their lack of protection for their employees and their customers during Covid 19 is astonishing. On the Friday before Easter they were letting customers in without face protection. While checking out, the cashier called customers out as they came through the door, saying you need a face covering. At the end of checking out, the store manager came by and the employee asked if they are enforcing the rule and the manager chuckled and said he couldn't do anything. You had a dozen signs at the door saying you must wear them. The following Friday same thing, some customers were wearing them and some not. When I checked out, the cashier allowed a customer she knew, stand right next to me to be waited on next, chit chatting away. Now just last week I went in, same thing and two customer service employees not wearing face protection, really!!! Other stores are enforcing for their employees and customers health!!! Plan to not go back until they can take this seriously!!! Where is the Union protection? Masks saying paid by the Union, follow up needed!!!! One note, the store has a great assistant manager (tall, dark hair, always running around), maybe the store manager needs to be replaced by him!!! read more

I LOVE vons. My favorite grocery store. This location however, doesn't really do Vons justice. Don't get me wrong, the people there are awesome! The cashiers and everyone else are so friendly. It reminds me of cheers. If you live in the neighborhood and walk in, everyone knows you name. Sometimes though, it's just not enough to make me want to only shop here. Lately, the store has been looking pretty dingy and run down. From what I remember, this place was always clean and nice. The last time I walked in, my friend and I both agreed it looked pretty run down and dirty. Total turn off for me. If you can't manage to keep the grocery store clean, how gross is everything I'm buying?? Also, they have a security guard hanging out in the liquor aisle now. I get why, but half the time they're roaming around the grocery store, not even in the aisle they're supposed to be. Makes me feel slightly uncomfortable as if Vons thinks we're all common criminals. I mean, we live in Thousand Oaks people. You're going to tell me there's that much theft? Besides that, it's coming to the point where i'd rather just drive further and not bother coming here at all. I've been coming to the same Vons since 1998. Most of the team has been the same since I've been coming here. I've always thought highly of their professionalism, but today things went to the next level. As I was checking out the lady working the register at the isle next to me asked her supervisor if she could buy something for a homeless man. Yes , of course was the answer, how cool. The only problem was, he had left the store. I then watched one of the boys that bag groceries, take the purchase and RUN out to the parking lot to search for the man. The man who was working the butcher counter with meat/fish on 6/24 around 11-1230pm should be fired. Worst customer service, derogatory comments made under his breath. My experience today was a complete failure from a customer service perspective! 9:30 am the store fairly empty of shoppers, literally less than 30 customers roaming the store. I needed assistance in the coffee aisle so I went to the empty checkout line near by and asked the clerk with the empty line may I have assistance in the coffee isle? She pages someone to her check out line. The lady comes and the clerk says, " This lady wants assistance." I asked for assistance retrieving an item off the top shelve and suggested maybe a stepping stool would be handy for the reach. Both clerks looked as if I totally unconvinced them only for me to direct the clerk to my product and for her to say oh I should go get a stool to get that for u..... I'm actually getting more frustrated recapping the Von's store experience this morning. The check out experience was 10x less pleasant, but I'd rather not discuss it any longer. I've been shopping at vons since I was a little kid. Things have changed since I was little. The products they sell at the store are good but 1 thing that really changed are the employees. 1.; I haven't seen 1 employee use manners such as excuse me or say thank you or sorry. 2.; bunch of indecent people over there. 3.; Starbucks are the most rude out of all. In October I went to Starbucks for a chai they messed up and I got in the a long argument of my drink being messed up. The this barista tried to rip me off 2 dollars extra to make another drink. And let's be realistic If your a customer and you weren't satisfied with your drink and ask for a new one ; I wouldn't bother charged an extra $2 for. Even when I go to Starbucks next to their vons they don't rip me off $2 to change drinks. I hope vons make a VERY POSITIVE CHANGE SOON. read more

Vons Delivery is dishonest. I had been using Instacart, but due to their cost I switched back to Vons Delivery when that became available again. Unfortunately I've had the same problem with every order since doing so. They are delivering spoiled items. Some of the items they are delivering would never be on the store shelves. Black fruit and vegetables, meat that already smells, etc. Sadly this is clearly a store policy because it happens every week and I never had this problem with Instacart. They appear to be delivering items from their spoiled bin with the hope we won't bother to complain. read more
