I have been going to salon centric for years. They used to have helpful nice employees but the past several years they have hired a new crew. I don't go anymore. A little bit pricier than Cosmoprof that's why I docked a star. Like the same products they have are $3 more expensive here. Better selection for sure. Will be back! read more

Just wanted to pass on info of horrid experience at Saloncencentric Thousand Oaks, CA yesterday (7/17/2021 @ 10:30am). Called previous to going into store to make sure there was a certain clipper brand in stock, Dylan answered and confirmed there was, I say thank you and he just hangs up. Get to the store, no one is around or says any greetings.. Dylan is in a back aisle stocking or rearranging. I'm looking for the item I needed and can't find it, approach him (at this point, still no greeting, hello or any acknowledgment), say hi and ask where the certain item was, he makes brief look in my direction, and just says "middle aisle". There's like 8 aisles there, not very helpful. I'm walking back and forth looking down all middle aisles and obviously can't see them, he's seeing that I haven't seen exactly where there at, no offer of help.. whatever, I'm a big boy, can find my own things but cmon now. Help a sis out a bit. Peruse the different clippers for a few minutes, decide on a couple hundred dollar item and go to the front to get checked out. Stand up there for two to three minutes... look back and around to see if he realizes the only client at the store is ready to check out with the purchase.. nothing.. no help, no acknowledgement, zero service.. standing there with my membership card, ready to get on.. at that point I just feel stupid, decide to put my cards away, take the item back to its spot on the shelf, walk out and call Cosmoprof to ask if they have the item there needed in stock. Every time I've gone there, Dylan's energy is so awful and he has zero customer skills. When I go anywhere to eat or buy something, staff doesn't need to go above and beyond for me to be content, literally just bare minimum service, a hello & straight to the point answers will get a 30%+ tip or positive review from me. I don't need tricks, flips, bells and whistles. Horrible experience there! read more

I stopped in the other day to find a hair care product. I had to take a phone call and stepped back outside. When I walked back in and browsed and then stood at the counter silently it still took a while for the employee to acknowledge me. He then informed me that they only sold to licensed cosmetologists. He did talk to me about the product I was looking for and was polite and professional, but his store stopped carrying it a while back, even if I could have bought it. The store was clean and tidy, well lit and nicely organized. The products were all attractively displayed and the place smelled nice. I think there may be a salon in the next stop over in this shopping complex? Well, obviously I won't be coming back here since they won't sell to me and weren't very interested in me. :( read more

This location is by far my favorite to go to. I always find everything that I need and the store is always very organized. Especially the Shades section! The other locations have it organized where you literally feel like you're in a maze looking for toners lol Brooke always helps me when I can't find an item or gives me great updates on promos and when they're going to be getting new/more color. She's very professional with the sweetest soul. read more

This store does not offer good customer service. I have only dealt with one employee who was very helpful. I told her she should be at Cosmoprof where all employees are helpful. She said she used to work at Cosmoprof. I think Salon Centric needs to improve customer service before I shop there again. read more

I visit this specific location every week to do my salon shopping and inventory. I have a Saloncentric that is closer to my house but I choose to go to this location instead. The staff is always kind and helpful...especially Susan, who has gone above and beyond for me consistently. She is always making sure I know about sales and promotions, helping me pick specific products and will even go the extra mile and pull my product ahead of time if I am in a hurry so that I can get in and out super quick. Can't thank her and the rest of the staff enough for all they do! read more

I have been to this location a couple times and will not be returning. The staff here are incredibly rude! I get absolutely no acknowledgment when I come in even when I'm the only customer in there. For my most recent visit the man working was talking away with a customer who was checking out before me but when it came to my turn he was completely silent no hello no asking me if I found all I needed, i asked him where I could find a specific product and he just looked at me and stuck his hand out to point without saying a single word. It was a very uncomfortable experience yet again making me feel like I don't belong there and am inconveniencing them with my presence. I will rather drive out of my way to go to the other location in oxnard than come here again. read more

I have been here 5 times in the last 18 months I'm a working Cosmetologist on films and I buy products weekly. I always do my best to avoid this place because the staff is rude. Even though this Salon Centric is the most convenient to my location. Today is the last straw, and this is why I'm complaining. I came in to by 1 round brush. I would have bought more but as usual I did not even get a hello when I walked in. I realize that there was only one sales associate, so when I heard him speaking to a previous customer I did not make a fuss. But after I had been standing at the counter 5 minutes and he looked dead at me, without acknowledging my presence. I had to politely let him know I was ready to check out. In a condensing tone, he told me to hold on, as he went to put boxes away. Once he "graced" me with his presence, and rung up my purchase, he didn't even give me a bag. I purchased a wire Olivia Garden round brush, which I did not want to throw in my purse. I had to ask him for a bag to put it in. This place is cramped, disorganized, dirty and has a rude staff with no product knowledge. I will continue to drive in traffic several miles away from my home to avoid this awful place read more

This is the most amazing store. And the reason is its employees. I have been in the hair business for 32 years. I have never been to a store with nicer more helpful people. I work across the street from Cosmo prof and it was easy access for me to get there when I needed products. But I drive across town because these people are so nice , so helpful, and they never make you feel like you are putting them out by asking questions. Susan, Kyle, Kassie and Dylan are amazing!!! I also work in a salon with about 50 hairstylists and everyone feels the same way about the store and the people who work there. So thank you! You all of these wonderful employees. Customer service here is horrible the ladies here have a horrible attitude and speak to you in a very rude way the moment you walk in there is no hello if you want to return something they act super disrespectful and say a rude remark such as "I've been selling a lot of these items and none of them have been returned except you" wtf ! Very mad and disappointed I hope management reads this and does something about people they hire. Also if you ask a question on a product they lecture you sorry if you guys don't like your job. SALON CENTRIC THOUSAND OAKS made my day!! I must share my amazing experience. I came to Salon Centric to attend a Redken color class. A few days prior to this class I was given a courtesy reminder phone call from Shelia, which I thought was extremely professional and helpful. I get to class a few minutes late , feeling slightly embarrassed to walk in late , I was greeted by a room full of smiles and hellos! I love that. Now I feel blissfully at ease. This store has special education room that's connected to the store that has little signs everywhere with positive affirmations and just all the stuff that excites me! When I walked into the door I felt like I was a kid at camp all the tables were lined up beautifully and adorned with note paper , head sheets , colored pencils , and markerd and a little bowl of Easter candy. Now you can make a imagine to my delight how excited I was considering that I am an artist and a sugar fiend. The class was four hours long and I loved my educator I've actually taken two classes at this particular Salon Centric and both were led by master redken educators/ artists. Outstanding ! The bathroom was clean and had nice smelling hand soap and that mid afternoon slump hit me and I look over and there's a little coffee station that had the best creams and flavored coffee choices I could dream of, I was in heaven! Here I am , on my day off , learning about hair , Balayage and hair color ; being taught by the best educator Kristin Longstreet , the best hair color company REDKEN, drinking flavored coffee with flavored cream and taking notes in my notebook using colored pens and pencils ... I have to say it was a really fantastic day ! Thank you Salon Centric , thank you Redken , thank you to all the people that work at Salon Centric , Thousand Oaks, !
