my worst haircut I have ever received I've been to the ulta salon in other areas before, but this experience left me emotionally and physically exhausted. the cut: I asked for eyebrow length curtain bangs, maintain frame of my cut (V shape), cut long layers, add face framing, cut only an inch and half(my hair reached almost all the way down my back). I revived rounded out blunt edges (I explicitly stated blunt ends were something I was particularly trying to avoid), cheekbone length bangs (stylist said my hair was too thin for bangs and asked me to change my mind-I said okay, she cut my "face framing" too short and said "looks like you're getting bangs"), under part of my hair was ripped out from the tugging and harsh brushing so my hair is uneven and extremely tangled. Finally, the stylist cut over 4 inches of hair and my hair is down to my armpits(it curls and looks even shorter-which I mentioned to her) the color: I asked for my natural color to be restored. I had the front quarter part of my hair and under back half of my hair bleached so I really just wanted those to be returned to my normal light brunette color. I overheard the stylist asking her coworker what color to add(red or something else) and the coworker said "no don't do that, do this.... and make sure you watch it because it's going to turn fast" my stylist left me for 25 minutes and my hair came out dark as car oil. She was holding patches of hair to my roots (darkest portion of my hair) and never asked or mentioned the color she was going to put on until it was already done. Once it was over I was left stunned with no words other than "is this going to get lighter over time". I saw her physically gulp and sheepishly say "oh yeah definitely". The dye also stained parts of my forehead and the stylist said "oh that will come off with makeup remover" - as she proceeded to boot me from the chair. The lack of communication, the harsh brushing, the lack of wanting to listen to my needs and much less trying to attain them made me feel humiliated after leaving the salon. I am naturally very understanding, I don't like to start any kind of trouble or be rude what so ever, I know the stylist probably wanted to do a better job, but I can't believe I left the salon paying over $150 during the holidays for a haircut that makes me feel ugly. When asking for a refund a day later the manager said to call back for a different manager, so I will be working on that or any other kind of solution. I would never recommend for a friend or loved one to come here, spend the extra $100 at a more reputable salon to leave happy. read more

I stopped by this location this evening in hopes to find new makeup products that work for my skin. I haven't wore a full face of makeup in almost 3 years so I felt like I was out of the game for some time. I was approached by beauty advisor Suzy in which I had plenty of questions. She took her time & gave me product recommendations, color matched & helped me with trying out new concealers & foundations. She was very patient & tentative with my request & took the time to get to know me & my skin. I walked away with numerous items she recommended. Ulta is at the Camarillo Outlet, right by Cracker Barrel, so there's plenty of free parking. I prefer this location since it's easier to park & get out, other than the other locations. I also prefer online shopping. Otherwise if I'm in store, I'd prolly buy random stuff that I don't need. Online ordering is easy, but sometimes your items may be out of stock. You can have your items shipped, or if you need it right away, it usually tells you the locations that have your items. I ordered what I needed online & right away I got emailed regarding my order. A couple hours later my order was ready for pick up... (You can opt in for text msgs too)... If sent a text, you can click on the provided link & it gives you the store hours & the location of the Ulta you are picking up at. You can respond to it by clicking on "I'm on the way" or "I'm here" & it allows for easier pick up. (Learned this after the fact). I didn't have to wait in line, as there is a separate pick up counter. I did have to wait for them to look for my order... Teresa was friendly, patient & still professional even when looking for my lost order. After looking several times, she finally found it. Thank you for your help Teresa! Had a very pleasant experience at this location, i scheduled a make up session on a sunday. They had called morning of to push it further out because the stylist was running behind, i unfortunately was on a time crunch and she accommodated me with no hassle. Chelsea was patient and understanding and did exactly what i needed for my makeup look! Ive never had my makeup professionally done so I was skeptical of it being too much but I loved my results of a neutral look. She finished in a timely manner. This ulta used to be good, but it's gone downhill. I come here maybe once a month after work. Recently I've found myself swatching endlessly, and staff literally makes eye contact with me and ignoring me, yet they have no problem going to other people asking if they need help. I can't even recall the last time someone here asked me if I needed anything. They are never busy when I've come in Today I went in for my tarte concealer, but they didn't have my shade in stock. While there, I decided to pick up my birthday gift. I showed the cashier my birthday barcode, so she went and got the gifts. I choose my item and she literally kept her hand on top of it as if she was afraid I was going to snatch it and run out the door. After verifying my identity, she let it go. The staff near her were busy talking about how they hate closing shifts etc This place is only half a step up from Oxnard bc Oxnard has a lot of opened products The staff here a year ago were nice, but the ones I've been getting recently have poor attitudes and racist undertones. I had one of the worst experiences at this alter store in Camarillo during Black Friday. It was a zoo in there, which was to be expected. The line for the cash register was insane and then one of the employees walks over and goes. There's another cash register available if you guys want to head over there. So I headed over and I could feel these little girls racing behind me. I get there and they're practically breathing on me. They're so close. I'm not joking when I say they're touching me like against my back, but what really got bad was when I got to the cash register to pay for my things. These girls were right behind me! They could see all of my personal information what I was buying how much I was paying for it. I could hear them making comments. And the worst part is the employees at Ulta did not ask them to give me some space or to please move back. They just let this chaotic situation happen and they had zero control over their store. Paige is following me around the store after already helping me like if im going to steal? lmao i'm holding my 9 month old and practically going to run me over in a small aisle when there is PLENTY of room around us. I was so excited to use the salon for the first time for hair treatment services and I left so disappointed. First they rescheduled me twice offered me 10% off for the inconvenience but I should have just canceled right after that to save me from the disappointment and regret I feel right now. My hair still looks dirty and left completely wet. They wanted to change me another 27 dollar to blow dry it. I left her a tip but I honestly shouldn't have. This experience was so upsetting and wild given I was repeatedly told how busy they were. Although it was a Saturday, I still received top notch customer service from Lauren! She was so welcoming, very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions! Newest addition to The Promenade section of the Camarillo Premium Outlets, ULTA Beauty just opened on August 28th. I stopped in on their second day to return an item purchased at a different store. They were already operating as though they've been there for a while, so kudos for whoever trained their staff. Social distancing marks are on the floors, shields for cashiers in place, hand sanitizer dispenser near the door, and a hostess by the door to regulate traffic entering the store - all there to protect staff and guests. The reason for taking off a star is that I used to be able to find makeup items more easily. Now they've cut back on brands I like, and it's more difficult to locate products that meet my needs. I don't enjoy taking something home, only to find that it won't work with my skin tone, then have to take it back! That's not the fault of this location - it's a corporate decision. I would like to try their lotions and other skin care items, but I have a stock at home right now. Then i was there waiting till 12:45pm till the manager talked to me apologizing that everyone is busy and no one can take me at the moment. And telling me the earliest time they can do my hair and make up would be like 2:00 pm. So i told the manager why they don't give me a call ahead of time, and let me know. So unprofessional. I don't normally do the surveys after shopping at a business when they send me the email to ask for my experience but best believe I did it for this store because they were so amazing. The manager was so kind and helpful, I had a ton of questions and one specific online problem. This is hands down the best place to take a s!?t in Camarillo. Especially after eating a BIG lunch at Cracker Barrel, or while shopping at the outlets or prior too or after visiting nearby Point Mugu beach! The 2 private stall bathrooms here are incredible! They're always stocked with rolls of paper, multiple soaps for hand washing, and a pleasant odor fills the room when you walk in. There's even a place to hang your coat and a hand rail to hold on to if you really have to strain to push one out! I love this place. read more

Camarillo Ulta and Oxnard Ulta are THEE WORST in customer service. I've been a customer for a while and always have to jump around to different stores because they have an attitude anytime you have a question but when they are in their selling speech it's all smiles. But I was able to get over it somewhat and reluctantly go back for it's convenience but I ordered online for a pick up due to a personal emergency and I called ahead to see if my daughter can pick it up and they said no since she is not the recipient. Other stores are more than willing ( Target, Sephora and Nordstrom ) I' can't get my stuff I have to now return my stuff wait for the refund to hit my account and order from Sephora or Nordstrom just because they don't want to hand my paid products to my daughter who has my bar code and my authorizations. What a waste of time and super inconvenient Update: I tried to return my unused products ( never left the store ) and they couldn't return my products because I didn't have a detailed receipt only the barcode emailed to me.
