First and foremost, thank you to all the essential workers working there at VONS, friendly and helpful, wearing their face masks, gloves, and keeping both essential and non-essential items stocked as much as possible. During this pandemic, thank you for keeping VONS cleaned, organized, and sanitized, while adhering to all COVID-19 safety protocols. All cashier stations have plexiglass, hand sanitizers available, grocery carts sanitized and/or sanitizing spray/wipes available at the entrances to self-wipe and clean. Six feet social distancing stickers on the floor. Grocery bags: Hit and miss - sometimes free, sometimes charged. Since the start of the pandemic, this VONS has been my trusty go-to supermarket (along with the Arcadia and Monrovia locations) for many of my daily essential/non-essential needs. My 2022 Review Update: Fortunately, this Vons has done away with its ridiculous "one-way" aisles and "One-Exit", "One Entrance" doors that made using this store a nightmare for anyone with a handicap. My experience here in the past when I broke my foot was bad, real bad. During the later half of 2021 and into 2022, I revisited this location, and they had returned the aisles to normal. (No one had been following their aisle rules previously anyway", it was like being in Kindergarten for adults. Parking at this location is really poor, because it is shared with lots of other smaller stores and food shops. However, parking on the roof has always been available when I have shopped here. Now that my foot has healed, I enjoy parking on the roof, so I can walk up and down the stairs. Pricing here can be really good or not so good, depending on what you are shopping for. I like that I can buy some veggies in a 5lb quantity and save money by not having to pay more for smaller quantities. The check-out lines are usually a bit long and slow, so I tend to use the Kiosk Check-out machines, despite my despising Kiosk Machines for eliminating jobs. I am usually in a hurry since I have other places to be. The few times I have been through the check-out lines, the employees have been friendly. Other than the employee who harassed me when my foot was broken and they were forcing people to enter on one side of the building and exit on the opposite side of the building, it's been a relatively positive experience. One time during 2021, a Kiosk Check-out machine had a failure while I was using it, and despite waiting 20 minutes for help, no one came, so I just jumped on a different machine. Unlike most stores with Kiosk Cashier Machines, this store generally hasn't had anyone monitoring, or assisting customers that i've been able to observe. Glad that this Vons has made improvements. read more

I have not been to this Vons location in a very long time. Recently went to a friend's house for another graduation. I stopped here to get us some drinks and food for the party. Store is so clean in a nicer neighborhood of Pasadena. They had everything I was looking floor. The isles were well equipped and put together. I was impressed. I also got some Potato Salad and Chicken for the party. Their deli foods are really good too. Customer service is awesome here. Hope I have a chance to visit again. read more

Dear Vons, I love this store for many reasons, but please--what happened to your store brand tortilla chips? They used to be so good, but the last couple of times we've bought them they have been thick and stale and tasteless. The first time we thought it might have been an aberration, but the second time convinced me that they are not nearly worth the price we paid. Never had a problem with this location. Associates have always been kind and helpful. That being said One of their middle aged African American associates came in to the Home Depot on walnut with her Vons apron and caused a scene saying the cashiers are racist. Told the cashier he should be on the corner selling flowers and his job ain't s**t. She should be embarrassed and set a better example for her young daughter. "Them" is not a racial slur. Ever since my son has returned to school about a month ago, I've been religiously stopping by this store on the way back home each morning to explore new things to try at home. I've really missed eating exotic cheeses, and while my wife recommended checkout Trader Joe's, I was quite impressed with the selection and prices that this store offered. I've been picking up a log of fresh goat cheese at $1 an ounce, which is not a bad deal. As far as milk goes, they regularly discount various high end milk brands, and the Horizon pasture fed whole milk is a popular item that usually gets swept up in a day or two. I've been exploring plant based meats and was pleased to see the variety of offerings such as Impossible Meats and Beyond Meats side by side. I found these plant based patties quite savory and surprisingly not salty at all, as veggie garden patty burgers usually are IMHO. The place is very clean. Reassuringly, social distancing is enforced, with quite a bit of customers opting for pre-order and pickups as well. I recommend stopping by here for groceries if you live in the area. read more

It's my neighborhood Vons and my go-to for the following: Goods - They have a really well-stocked and varied selection of sundries you normally wouldn't find at a grocery store. And if you happen to already be here and don't want to bother heading over to Target, the little things you just might need you'll probably find at this Vons. Funny enough, they stock more brands of toilet paper here than Target. Adult beverages - Huge section that takes up most of the east side of the store. Well-stocked and varied, from reds to whites, beer (domestic, imported, and hipster), and your hard stuff. Again, if you don't want to head over to Bevmo, you might as well get it over here. Parking - Lots of spots. There's the first floor which is shared with other businesses, and upstairs, which is all Vons. Nice view of the SGV mountains as well :) Upstairs never fills up, so I suggest just heading up there if you have no patience to look for a spot. Starbucks - Not sure if it's just pure luck, but every time I order a green tea latte here, it's always well-balanced...not too much matcha...just the right amount. These baristas get it right. Hoffy Dogs - My favorite hot dog. Can't seem to find them anywhere else but here. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Ok, now the bad: the butcher and meat/poultry section. I don't expect it to compete with Stater Bros when it comes to your meats, but I feel Vons just really neglects this area. There aren't many options to choose from, just your very basic cuts. And sometimes you can't even find something as common as party wings. The section looks sad and neglected, and the seafood just doesn't look tempting at all. I used to love shopping at this Vons, but things have changed since they introduced their new app. Now, not only do you have to enter your phone number, but you're also required to download an app and share personal information just to get the advertised prices. Where does it end? At this rate, we might soon have to scan our eyes just to enter the store. This is a concerning direction we're heading in, and it feels like something straight out of *Black Mirror*. Even more disappointing is how complacent the employees seem about it. We should all take a stand and say NO to this invasion of privacy. read more

The worst customer service ever. I went in to purchase crème fraise and asked for help, I was sent to the dairy section. The guy in dairy said it's not his department and I need to ask the person in the deli. I go to the deli counter. The lady that's there doesn't even want to check if there's any in the back. I go back to the front and ask for a manager. The person there said she sent someone over to dairy to help me. I know there is controversy about water bottles sitting in the sun for an extended period of time or if it gets over 70ºF. Some articles say that chemicals from the plastic begin to leach into the water, but there are also opposing thoughts. Perhaps to be on the safe side, maybe this Vons at this location in Pasadena should consider moving these to another place where the water bottles are not sitting in direct sunlight...especially during the excessive heat this summer. read more

First let me just start by saying I have been a loyal customer to this vons location for over 10 years and have spent a countless amount of my hard-earned money here. I am a mother who uses the similac formula rewards program that offers money off formula cans based on how many purchases you make. When you redeem this reward it makes you select a retailer that you can redeem the digital payment from. Vons is one of those. So I come in today and ask the cashier to grab the formula from the case and I go to the checkout line with my barcode. The cashier doesn't have a clue what it is. Mind you, Ive used this type of barcode at this same location before and there has never been a problem. On the page that shows my barcode on my phone there are instructions for both the cashier and for self checkout. So I just said I will go follow the instructions for self check out. I go scan the formula and the barcode with no problems......Sounds like no problem right? Next thing I know the cashier comes running up behind me saying "no, no, no you cant use this because we don't know what it is. You could be scanning anything to get a discount." She reached over, invading my space and voided it as I was putting my card into the reader to pay. I asked to speak to the manager in which she replied that the manager Ramona was on her lunch break and I'm welcome to wait for her if I wanted. Wait? For the manager to come do her job? In all my years shopping at any store, you can't typically "just scan anything" to receive a discount. That's a bs excuse for them to not take an extra moment to try and help me. Instead I felt discriminated against because the cashier Elisa refuse to accept my barcode even after the system already allowed it. Elisa also had the nerve to mumble things under her breath and give me dirty looks. Ive worked in customer service for over 10 years and this is a completely unacceptable way to handle any valid problem. I feel these two specific staff members need to be re-trained on all forms of payment that the company accepts. And obviously Ramona is not fit to be a manager at all. read more

I am leaving this review for the customer service or the so called VIP customer service line they have for using their Fresh Pass service. I have called multiple times to resolve a simple request to change my Email on my account to receive the rebate they offer through PayPal. I have never received any PayPal rebate because my account is Vons account is tied into another email which is not the same as my PayPal email. I asked for the supervisor to contact me but I am still waiting. The subscription for Freshpass is useless!! I will make sure I unsubscribe!! read more

I've been coming here for the past few years. This is not my closest location but the customer service here is so wonderful I make sure to come by this Vons. Irma over at the deli counter ALWAYS has a smile on her face. She is very friendly and always willing to give recommendations and help. Sometimes the lines at the deli can get very long but she never panics she always helps each and every person. She never rushes anyone and always goes above and beyond even giving some of her own recipes! People like Irma make me come to Vons instead of the other grocery stores around here! This place has no customer service whatsoever or just don't give a fuck it. I've been coming here to shop my grocery for an year. Today I just want to get some quarters. I understand nowadays merchants need to keep the change and the shortage. First of all I was being told to go to the front desk guest service they will help me out. I went there the lady was extremely rude and send me back to the cashier. The cashier lady simply said no and asked me to check with another one. To this point I feel if you can't help me just say no instead of passing me around back and forth. I work for customer service too. I always do my best to provide convenience for customers needs. Parking: there's street parking, a private lot on the ground floor for the shopping center, and a parking lot on top of Vons. It gets busy during lunch, so I would be careful when driving. Atmosphere: this Vons is bigger than your usual. They have small shops inside to get fresh food made for you. This is especially good if you work around the area. My coworkers and I love going to their Wok Your Way and Fusion Bowl area. Everyone is friendly here. They usually have some samples available. They also have a sushi counter, fresher squeeze juice area, deli and sandwich counter, cooked chicken, and other meats, and different salads available for purchase by pounds. This is probably my preferred Vons in Pasadena. Easy parking lot and everything is always clean and organized. I remember it being a bit crowded/crazy at times pre-COVID, but since then, I've never had an issue finding parking or strolling around in the store. Most times, things are stocked as well, except for pandemic toilet paper shortages, but I think that's expected. Overall, good store and I come here often. read more

I like this store as it has a big parking lot and lots of items to choose from. But I can't give it more than two stars due to the terrible customer service. I needed assistance looking for an item. The employee didn't even want to spare me a glance didn't even stop as she says "I think it's over in deli" and rushing off. Now I get being busy, but still. That's no reason to be rude. I feel like this is a fancy schmancy grocery store. Like, not Erewhon or Whole Foods or Bristol Farms fancy, but prettttttty fancy for a Vons. This store is big, clean, well lit, and well stocked, especially in the booze department if that's what you're into. They seriously have so many types of spirits, beer, wine, and trendy stuff like hard seltzers and kombucha. We were here this past Friday night to pick up some pumpkins, bourbon, and baking supplies (#fallvibes) and were able to find everything we needed. Our cashier was super friendly and they had hand sanitizer there at check out. The parking lot is shared with some other businesses (Chase, a poke restaurant, etc) so it can get busy, but it's not too bad. We lived by another Vons on the Westside that was absolutely nothing like this one--small, dark, and not particularly well kept up. Props to this location for a job well done! read more

This is where I go every week for my grocery shopping. As far as products, I have to say I would give it a five star! They usually have everything I need. The wine section is probably the best in the area. My review is not excellent because the cashiers are rude and not very helpful, and whenever there are sales on certain things like coffee creamer, I always have to come back several times because it is never stocked. I usually have this Vons location in my rotation of grocery stores I feel safe going to during COVID times, but I stopped by today for some baking supplies and there were several customers coughing loudly throughout the aisles. I'm not sure what to suggest except for screening folks who come in more thoroughly...? People with COVID symptoms should not be in enclosed public spaces. Also, at one point during checkout there were so many employees crowding around me (all less than 6 feet from me) that I started feeling claustrophobic and left as soon as I could. On the bright side, there is one lady who works here who is always so sweet. She has a raspy voice and usually a full face of makeup. Wish I got her name. read more

The elder woman with glasses at customer service treats you like you own them. We bought a buttered cookie from here and it's way too sweet, like one bite straight to diabetes. We brought it back to the customer service and waited , with 4 minutes staffs come and go in the customer service but everyone ignored us. I like coming to this Vons whenever I am on the area. This is only Vons in the area that has self check out registers. I also like to park upstairs which the spots are bigger than first level parking spot. They have a huge salad bar, olives, chicken wings, udon bar. They also have huge wine area too. Nice staff all around. The shelves are clean and neat in order. Evening or afternoon is best to park top of market. They also have a nice Starbucks too. read more

The is known as bougie Vons of this area lol this review is strictly for the bakery. The ladies here are amazing at what they do. Their attention to detail is immaculate and they are super sweet! They were able to print a picture of Darling in the Franxx for a cake for my little brother's birthday. I don't know much about this cartoon other than it's an anime and that it's in Japanese. They totally nailed it though and one of them even knew what Darling was! The cake was moist and delicious. Highly recommend their bakery! read more

3/27/2020 Corona shut-down. I had the good fortune to be here for Senior shopping. I was in line (outside the store) at 7AM, Starting time. We were each given a cart, which was wiped down right before our eyes and they required everyone (including those wearing gloves) to use a dollop of hand sanitizer. This is a big store and we did not fill it up. I did get water and paper towels. I saw tortillas but did not need any. This was a smooth event. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team. Since COVID-19, this is the most SANITIZED grocery store ever in Pasadena. You really do feel safe entering the store and even in every aisle as well. And here's the reason why... 1. You enter with someone greeting you with a hand sanitizer and wiping off your cart 2. They do minimize how many people should enter to shop. 3. Each aisle has a ONE WAY ONLY making sure you're two carts apart. 4. The checkers would wear masks or face shields and gloves. 5. There is a large shield also between the customer and the checker 6. They put some type of covering on the credit/debit machine. I do like what they did!!! My experience with another store, Ralph's, was not as sanitized. The worse part is having the checker sneeze and that person was not wearing a mask or gloves. Pretty scary!! read more

Juanita at self checkout should not be in customer service. She has the absolute worst attitude. I've encountered her rudeness on several occasions but today it was over the top. I was having issues with the kiosk and she was arguing with me and finally walked away without resolving my issue. SHE JUST WALKED AWAY. This is absolutely unacceptable. If you don't like your job, don't be there. I urge management to at least move her to another dept where she doesn't have to deal with people. I've seen her yell at customers before. Vons never falls short on merchandise or options. Convenient, clean and fresh. Their deli is nice and so is their butcher shop.

UPDATE May 2018: this Vons is seriously amazing!! They recently got a new updated look. It much more organized and well lit. The deli department has a few new changes and updates too! Stopped by today and Patricia in the deli department was super sweet and had excellent customer service! So happy to see that the staff is really enjoying working at the newly renovated store as much as I like shopping there!! I was also very impressed with the number of cashiers that were available! They also have self checkout! Overall I was so happy to see the new look and glad they still have excellent customer service! Came in around 9 on a Tuesday and deli was closed. They had one machine open to slice, but they were in the process of cleaning and told me that they couldn't assist me. I wasn't very happy about it but I guess that's what I get for grocery shopping so late at night. I was venting to my cashier that I wish I could have gotten all my grocery shopping here, she was very good at listening and told me that they should help me. She told me to let the store manager know of my experience with the deli service. So I called over the shift supervisor Carlos who was super friendly and eager to make me happy! He walked me over to the deli and asked them to please assist me! They weren't very happy about it but they did it. One guy named Michael H. made sure I was happy with the cuts and was super friendly and apologetic for my previous experience! I could have left upset but instead I left smiling and extremely happy that I had everything I needed to make my meals for the week! This is my Vons. I like this grocery store because it's located near my house, there's plenty of parking, and the cashiers are really nice. The produce is pretty good and the guys in charge of produce are always there to help me pick the perfect fruits/vegetables. This Vons is open daily during the Coronavirus and I go here once a week to get food. They have many variety of food and it's a great place to get groceries. The manager and cashiers there are very kind and they provide great service. The constantly keep the place clean and displays item nicely. I just had to write a review for Louise and Suzie in the Bakery Dept. I had plans for dinner at a Korean BBQ Restaurant for Saturday evening for my GodDaughter's 16th Birthday. My GodDaughter texts me at 9pm the night before asking for a cake request. I told her I would do my best to try to get her what she wanted. I woke up early on Saturday morning at around 6-7 am and I started calling around to different grocery stores. I called multiple Ralphs and Vons and I got all no's because the cake decorator was not in or their printing machine was not working or they needed 24 hours notice. I did not give up. I called this Vons location and I spoke to Louise. Man am I so glad that they were able to help me. Louise gave me an email address and I emailed a picture I wanted on a cake while I was on the phone with her. She and Suzie got down my information and what I wanted on the cake as far as decorations and the flavor of the cake. They were able to make me the cake I wanted by 2pm! I really appreciate these 2 ladies for pulling through for me because they could have simply said no. Because of them, my GodDaughter got the cake she wanted and she was soooooo happy. She's a KPop lover and wanted a picture of her favorite group on her cake and she got just that! The cake was perfect and it tasted so good. There was was nothing left. I ordered a quarter sheet white cake with fresh strawberries and these 4 girls ate it all up! The cake was for 10-15 people I think!
