Came by here yesterday afternoon to purchase some produce for dinner that evening. They had quite a limited selection of Boston Bibb lettuce that I was looking for and the ones that were available (only 6 heads were in stock), they kind of looked a bit sad looking and semi wilted. But Boston Bibb lettuce was essential to my evening meal (I made lettuce wraps for dinner last night and w/o the lettuce, it would just be ground meat. Yes people traditional use ice berg lettuce but that doesn't hold up nearly as nice and also there is just a bit more fiber in the Boston Bibb). After I picked the least wilted lettuce head, I ended up waiting in a rather long line to pay. With only 3 cashiers open and the self check out area being closed, I waited a long time to finally pay for my item (yep, all I came in there for was this head of lettuce). The cashier who waited on me was just standard. She kind of mumbled so it was hard to understand her and she did seen a bit tired, so I won't hold her to a higher standard. There is plenty of parking in this lot. Overall, just an average shopping experience, thus the 3 stars. read more

Since my last review I have been treated so rudely by a few of the Vons checkers and bakery workers. They are rude, they act bothered if you have alot of groceries at check out. I went to Vons the other day to get a big cut of prime rib roast. I was helped by Morgan from the meat department. He was very knowledgeable and explained about the number of bones in a cut and the diameter. Wow, never thought of prime rib roast that way. Well, Morgan was very helpful, very knowledgeable and very friendly. I ended up with a 15 lb roast. Beautiful piece of prime rib. My family specially my grandson had a wonderful dinner. Very generic selection of food, most with low quality GMO ingredients. If low cost grocery shopping is what you are looking for, it isn't a bad store, and this particular location does not have a bad selection of variety. One positive note to mention is the variety of meatless and dairy free options, which is actually quite solid and a relief to find. Also, the staff here have always been very nice, and as an added bonus the carts have cup holders :) Have to point out the front of the "managers promise" sign in the bathroom...very ironic! read more

We don't usually come to this vons, we go to Albertsons down the street however after today! This will definitely be our go to store! To say Rob was amazing is an understatement! I went to subway and decided since I was already there get a couple things for the week WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD!!! No Mom just me and her!! As i got to the register my daughter started crying because well she wanted a toy!!! Rob was just so patient with me as I tried to manage paying and comforting my daughter. He talked to her and got her attention by offering her stickers! And well what little girl doesn't like stickers, Her face lit up!!! Thank you Rob! It was something so simple yet with your kindness you made me as a father feel welcome and not rushed to leave because I had a 2yr old screaming at the top of her lungs! Thank you again!! Vons was very busy today at 12:00. So I decided to do the self check out. WOW the lady that is helping in that area must be having a very bad day. When I asked her for two bags she gave me a look like I was bothering her. She threw them at the end of the cart where I couldn't even reach them with a SOUR look on her face. When I called the store to let them know the guy said "OK" and hung up, no goodbye.Where are the manners in this store! I have been living in the Glendora and shopped in this Von's over the past 7 years. I always liked the store. The staff there were nice and helpful. It was my go-to place for groceries. Somehow yesterday was another story. Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak, I started to wear a mask and gloves when I go out shopping as a protection to my family and respect for the others. While waiting to checkout, I noticed the cashier was a lady in her 50's whom I have never seen before. Two customers before me were a mother and her teenager daughter. Three of them were chatting, leaning forward to each other to discuss the bill. I was amazed to see at how careless they were. When it came to my turn, the cashier lady just left without saying a word. When she eventually return, she put on a pair of gloves. She still didn't say a word or even look at me before she started to scan the food. She scanned and passed the food so fast that I was sure she woud prefer just threw them to me. Two girls behind me want to put food on the belt. She waved her arm and warned them, "Girls, stay back." She was so uncomfortable with my presence and tried to lean back as much as her station allowed for keeping a maxi distance from me. I had to wonder what have caused her drastically different behaviors, is it because I had a mask on, or because I am Asian? The silver lining of the story is, I did get the social distancing that I wanted. read more

This used to be a great store about 20 years ago. What a waste for Glendora to have such a lousy grocery store with high prices, and less help than ever before. The quality has gone down a lot, and their prices are not even competitive with Stater Bros on most items. Those stupid banners are a joke too 3 in a line? We will open more registers. The best thing that this Vons location could do is to fire their checker Rob immediately. I just experienced this guy being completely obnoxious to this woman just for wearing a Patriots jersey on Super Bowl Sunday. This review is for the cake from the bakery, otherwise I haven't been in this particular Vons so I'm just review ing the cake. Anyway, I have been to lots of weddings and some birthday parties lately, where they have cakes purchased from a bakery. Usually, not too many people even want a piece of cake, much less eat the whole piece then want seconds. Was I surprised to see at least a dozen guests asking the staff for seconds of the Von's vanilla with strawberries sheet cake, and wanting to know which bakery it came from. In order to save money, instead of getting a cake from a cake bakery, just go to Von's and get one there! read more

Clear bright Signage marking these exclusive items makes it easy to see and shop accordingly. Their Lottery machine didn't work properly though they need to contact the vendor. Lovely Floral section, I got a beautiful plant there as well. Store Open until midnight 12:00 AM. PHARMACY: Open 9-9 PM. Call and check on your order ahead of time, get an ETA of when it will be ready. They're usually busy and may need not have your meds in stock -they often need to order. So call and get an ETA, pick up when you need to shop so you're not waiting in line and then driving back to pick up later. Friendly patient Pharmacists as well. read more

It's really such a great grocery store. When I first walk in, I get a starbucks to give me energy for the shopping, then I start in the alcohol isle and get myself some beers (it's good to have in your home, in case people come over.) I go through each isle because the store isn't that big (which I love). When I get to Ralph's on grand, it's so huge and overwhelming that I usually go in quickly to grab something and leave. My favorite part of this grocery store is when I go to the deli section. My favorite meats and cheeses have already been pre-cut so that I can just grab and go. I hate ordering, since sometimes it takes too long. Right next to it, they have a great selection of hummus and just a couple of steps away I can grab the pita bread from the bread section! AND to top it all off....let's say you've forgotten about your friends bday or something...they have a huge selection of gift cards that you can grab on the go. Wooo hoo. I'm so proud and grateful to the employees at Vons and Albertsons. Marie and Maria, especially. All of them are at high risk, yet work to keep us in supplies. I keep my distance, and wear a mask and gloves they didn't have available to them until recently. Please everyone...exercise patience and kindness to these employees. I REALLY want to love this store (there's a Starbucks inside, for crying out loud!) but the lines are absolutely ridiculous :'( half the cashiers seem like they're absolutely miserable, and it's rare I see a smile or hear a pleasantrfrom anyone here. The lines have gotten significantly longer than when I moved around the corner 2 years ago. If it wasn't the closest grocery store, sad to say, but I'd shop elsewhere. Well yesterday 11-27-15 I came in to pick up some money from western union. Even tho I was asked if I was born in the USA and never have been asked that before. Aside from that everything smooth. Today 11-28-15 I came in and was attended by LINH and I came to pick up some money again. Although the I had to wait for her to finish a conversation that had nothing to do with work with another 2 workers. After waiting 2 minutes she asked me if I needed help and I said yes I need to pick up money her immediate response was "it hasn't been working for 5 days" I proceeded with saying "what's your name? She showed me her badge and I say "thanks linh I was in yesterday and picked up money and everything worked smoothely" I just left. F#^* you guys. read more

Where else in American can you get a mile long loaf of French Bread fresh from the oven for $1.25? Ok, New Orleans, but this is so close to my home. Come between 5 and 6 pm, and it is there for the takings. I love this store as everyone is very friendly and really means it. Need a special kind of meat, not a problem, they will escort you to it. Lots of health food choices, including Alta Dena and Bourdienge's (their egg nog rocks, and I can not spell the brand). Lots of soy choices, too. Extra soft, soft, medium, hard, and whatever you thought soy could be. I wish the fruit and veggies in the fresh section were fresher, and would love the berry area replaced. But overall, this is so much better to shop at than most regular grocery stores in America. Don't forget to check the mailer, as they have great FREE food coupons in there every so often. The store said not that many people participate in the savings. Oh... Fresh sushi at lunch and lots of choices, too. A bit pricey, but fresh and ready to go. read more

This is a very friendly Vons. It has that warm, close-knit neighborhood feel. Everything is easy to find, the store is clean, and I love the layout. Dana was exceptionally nice. My experiences here have always been great. This store is the closest to my house and I've gotten used to navigating the insane parking lot, stock with shitty drivers. The store itself is always clean (today it was hard to navigate because of all the new merch displays, etc.). The employees have always been great, they were really friendly today. Because I'm a coffee snob (and former Starbucks barista), I avoid in-store Starbucks because they're technically not Starbucks stores, but they're close enough. There was a summer where I stopped at Vons daily for lunch and grabbed coffee for breakfast (same trip). The baristas were friendly most of the time and got my ever-changing drink right a good percent of the time. read more

If you're a local then the service deli lives up to its name. If you're simply a patron who wants service it's another story. This happen with one young lady waiting in front of the cold cuts and me inquiring about when the soup would be on. Where other Vons delis seem to have their act together this one apparently has a La Cosa Nostra mentality. But then again maybe it's me. Maybe it's the military perspective that tells me if you say the soup will be out in 5 minutes, then I will wait for 5 minutes. I did some shopping and when I left the soup was still was not out. I understand being short staffed, I don't understand misinforming the customer. I also understand that since the nearby Fresh n' Easy went under it gives plenty of room Amazon Go to move in. This is where you'll find me and baby when we stock up on groceries for the week. In my opinion, this Vons is the BEST supermarket in the Azusa/Glendora area. Besides the usual groceries and personal care items, this Vons also has a florist, gift card station, Starbucks (yes!), pharmacy, and a full-service deli and bakery. I've ordered turkey dinners for Thanksgiving here and baby's birthday cake when he turned 1 last year, and was very pleased with all that they helped us out with. We're definitely ordering this year's Thanksgiving dinner from here again. Overall, the store and its staff are awesome. Everyone that works there always says hello and are very helpful - customer service at its best. Makes me feel at home, which is why I won't shop for groceries anywhere else. read more

This is a pretty standard Vons. It has a deli counter, Starbucks, bakery, meat counter along with the usual produce, processed foods, and alcohol. The workers are all pretty friendly. I've always been nice to them and they will be nice in return. Helpful in finding stuff you are just missing. The produce is good quality. It lasts a while and they have an expansive organic section. Recently they've upped their selection of whiskey and that's of course lovely. The meat counter is open all the time. I got used to another Vons when I lived out of state only open 9-5. read more

I have been so loyal to Vons that I was a card member even when I worked at stater bros. Unfortunately, there have been a few experiences lately that have prompted me to reevaluate that loyalty. For months now the organic fruit section has been poorly maintained with no prices and sometimes the shelves are empty! Today, my family had asked me to run out and buy two family size $5(on Fridays) so I had arrived by 8ish. There was one left in the cooler area but was falling apart and had been torn open (yuck). I asked the woman there if she had any anymore in the back and said no(rudely). I asked if she could make me 2 sandwiches and she said "No Mija I have to go now" I understand that I I look young but I am a young adult and do not appreciate being called a 'Mija'. She then went on to tell me they close at 9 and she had too much work to do to help me. So much for customers first! I asked if there were other cross trained workers in other departments or if a manager could help me out but she said "no they know nothing" I was annoyed enough to the point where I really just wanted to leave. Pretty all-around balanced and average. Quality is a bit above average. Price is also a bit above average. Produce almost always looks good. I'm fine with a little bit of bruising or marks or cuts, it's perfectly fine when I'm eating it in a dish, but that rarely comes up at all. Beer selection is below average, they stock a few of the most popular craft brews you find everywhere and a ton of the macro brews. I buy about 50/50 between the two but I've taken to visiting local liquor stores where I can get both things I want. The butcher is my favorite. It's not very big but they have fun things like stuffed mushrooms or stuffed salmon rolls. It's also always stocked with scarily huge chicken breasts. The staff are generally all really great, friendly, helpful. The one exception has been the sandwich area of the deli, I get dirty looks and heavy sighs if I order a sandwich starting about an hour away from the sandwich closing time. Not all of the time, not from all of the people, but more often than not. Maaaaaaybe it wouldn't be as annoying if you didn't start putting everything away an hour early. read more

Vons is my favorite grocery store! All sections have fresh products and a great selection. Employees at this location are helpful and friendly, but not annoying like at other locations (where every single employee you pass greets you and asks if you need assistance even if they just saw one employee do the same less than 2 seconds ago). My favorite sections here are the deli and the butcher section. The deli has so many options to choose from for ready made food and is a great stop for lunch or dinner. The butcher section has the most helpful butchers, they keep the items fresh and stocked and also let you know when certain meats come in during the week. read more

well this is a review that is needed to be written. We have shopped in Vons of Glendora for 10 years. This might have to be suspended at this time since Art/ employee of Vons in Glendora has made a great error in his behavior. I plan to write a review at Grocery survey . I felt that Yelp would be a great place for a complaint should be recognized. Art, you did not handle the OJ situation well. When items are in an area that they should not be in, it is not the customer's problem or fault, they belong to the store employees that placed them there, this is called accountabitlity.. Moving the OJ back to the area where they belonged in the first place, then saying to my husband it's not a problem now , we would not be writing this comment review:). It took a supervisor to handle the situation. My suggestion would be never send a inexperienced person to handle a situation of this type. Most people don't know that you can get sandwiches here. I LOVE these sandwiches. They are delicious and reasonably price. The lunch line is long...boo...but I'm always happy with what I walk away with. There is a good seating area. It felt a little odd to be eating in a grocery store at first, but I got used to it :) There are not a lot of good sandwich places in the area, and this is definitely one of them. This is my Vons, there are many like it but this one is mine. I'm in this store every other day or so. It's the best Vons I've ever seen. Apparently it's at the top of the list for checker transfers. People love shopping here and employees love working here. Pros: clean, friendly and well stocked shelves. If there are more than 2 in any line, it's almost like a switch goes off and they are calling for more checkers. If you have to wait more than 2 minutes to unload your cart, they apologize for the wait. They have really good and fresh sushi, made right there in the deli. Fantastic produce. Not particular to this store, but just a plus for Vons in general is the Just 4 U which you can get your coupons on line, on your smart phone app or in the store on their convenient computer area. Cons: Parking lot is a nightmare, especially around holidays, or on rainy days. Not always carts in the cart ready area, though I've learned how to get around this by parking next to the parking lot cart holders and just walking one in. Meat dept. not too available to help you or to even answer the call bell in a timely manner. They've moved the freaking ice to the front of the store and I frequently forget to grab some. read more

This Vons was awesome a few years ago. However, now they always seem to be under staff because the lines are ridiculous. It's a shame because this was a very good store in the past. The workers were always friendly and helpful. Now the worker seem miserable like the customers waiting in the long lines. It's unfortunate the management hasn't made any changes to improve the situation. At this point I'm willing to drive to Albertsons on Glendora Ave. or to the new Spouts opening on Grand. I'm sure I won't be the only one if things do not change. read more

This location is kept clean and well-stocked - at least when I have been in. Vons is not the lowest cost market nor the highest. The deli selection is usually pretty good. A Starbucks is located inside at the southeast corner if the store. (Your far right when you enter). You can find pretty much anything you need but it may not be in the size or brand you want. read more
