Too bad I'm not around the area at that time, otherwise I'd make Tokyo Central my weekly run for dinner. Their Kimchi Tako Poke is another regular we get, it's so good. However, recently, the only option I saw was the Shoyu Tako Poke - and I didn't like this version one bit - too hard and the flavor is not to my liking. Will never get it again. The hot food area has quite a decent selection, priced and weight by the pound, self-served. Often around 3-4pm, you may see 20% discounted packaged hot food placed out, whatever that's leftover from the lunch rush hour. Tried it a few times, but felt most of the food is heavily dosed in MSG, so I'd be selective on what I get. They also have sashimi party trays which require pre-order. Great pricing for the quality and convenience. Overall, love their sushi selection, and it's a regular stop for us. As for the market itself, there's not as much to buy, and pricing is on the higher end. However, they have a larger selection of some products that I can't find elsewhere, and sometimes their advertised specials are decently priced.

There's a supply crisis at the moment apparently caused by the California drought. Those delicious chili peppers are hard to grow without lots of water and so it's impacting the manufacturing process to a point that there's now a black market for the original Huy Fong sriracha. Pickled onion chutney There were slices of connected onions that were pickled. I didn't hate it but I wasn't a huge fan. There was a lot of it, I didn't finish it. I only needed to grab an item (沙茶酱 or Shacha Sauce) or two since we were considering hot pot for the new year in a few days. It was late afternoon and the lines to checkout were so long... about 4 registers open. I think it took me about 8+ minutes of waiting to purchase 1 item. At least there were the new 2026 Chinese Yellow Pages outside the store so I grabbed one on the way to my car. GW Supermarket would not be my go to, especially for the prices and the long lines, but it is convenient if I need to grab something if I am in the area, i.e. Haven City. (After stopping by 99 Ranch yesterday, the 沙茶酱 was wayyyy cheaper at 99 at regular price. Even with the "discount" at GW, it was still a dollar more expensive than 99 Ranch.) There is usually plenty of parking. Yes, sometimes the lot may be full near the GW Supermarket and Haven City entrances but there is usually a parking spot somewhere in the plaza.
