Pasta
Alice A.

We were in the area of Pike's, and I remembered a friend's recommendation for Von's. It was a short walk, so we headed that way. Thankfully it was early dinner time, so our hour wait allowed us a little more time to walk in the area. You can and should make a reservation. Our waiter was great, as was the staff checking us in. Our entire experience was very pleasant and we will certainly go again the next time we are visiting. We felt we entered an old pub with a modern vibe. It was very comfortable and the seating is such that you can still hear those around you, even in a louder environment. I love that! We had a wild mushroom pizza, beer battered tacos and a great pasta dish. The portion sizes are generous, especially the pizza. The balance of everything they offer on the menu will make it easy for everyone to find something they like.

Spicy "Rigs"

I got the spicy rigs pasta. At a high level, it was good, but nothing special, and not something I'd gravitate towards for $27. They advertise the pasta as "sourdough pasta". I'm not sure what that's supposed to taste like, but it didn't taste anything different from regular pasta to me. If it had a unique, fun flavor, that may motivate me to spend a bit more on it. The noodles has a nice texture. The lemon ricotta added a nice acidic kick that I liked. The sauce was on the bland side though, which I found to be disappointing.

An absolutely amazing dining experience! We had such a wonderful experience at Vons 1000 Spirits! We were staying at the Sheraton and joined the waitlist at 6:30 PM when we were number 54. We left the hotel at 8:00 PM, walked about 10 minutes to the restaurant, and were seated after waiting only another 10 minutes. Honestly, the waitlist worked out perfectly! The ambiance was fantastic, and our waiter was amazing, attentive, friendly, and wonderful throughout the evening. But let's talk about the FOOD! Everything was delicious, but the Tellicherry chicken was hands down the best dish at our table. It was absolutely out of this world! The flavors were incredible, and it was one of those dishes you keep thinking about even after the meal is over. They also make their own sourdough pasta, and the sourdough ciabatta was absolutely to die for! My friends were even surprised because they said they had never seen me eat so much! Honestly, I could have finished every last bite, but I left a little behind because, well, I felt guilty eating that much! You can tell when a restaurant puts real thought and care into its food. Between the incredible dishes, wonderful ambiance, and outstanding service, this place exceeded our expectations. If you're in Seattle, Vons 1000 Spirits is a MUST! Don't let the waitlist discourage you. It's absolutely worth it, and I would happily come back again!

Spiced Fig, Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza

The sauce on the tellicherry chicken and smoked guoda pasta was heavenly. I loved dipping the noodles in the sauce it was soo good and will go down as one of my favorite pastas ever. Their pizza was good as well with interesting yet very good combinations of toppings. Their pizza dough/crust was a little hard but also crispy I think if you're into that you would like it but I preferred their pasta! Their chicken was very tender as well, both dishes with the chicken were extremely good and the portions are very filling! Although I wouldn't say that it's more than one serving size. Overall I loved their food, they homemake their pasta with a sourdough starter! The service was extremely attentive, and the environment and lighting was perfect! Their pasta dishes averaged ~$27-29 and with tip and everything my total came up to ~$40.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. After hearing so many people hype up the food and having my doubts, I was surprised. The presentation of the food was nice, and it was better than I thought it would be. The staff is friendly and it's cool to see them making the noodles from scratch when you first walk in. It can get a bit loud inside as the place is small but fits a lot of people.

This place is great! They make their own sourdough pasta, and toast for pizza. So many great dishes to choose from an every time I've been I've never had a bad dish. This is my go to for people that come from out of town or want a suggestion of where to eat. It can get very busy and have a long wait but it's worth it! They also have a great variety of cocktails and the staff is very friendly. Our server, Troy, was amazing! It is a loud restaurant and music is playing. They do have an event space that can be rented in the back. Is it worth the drive?...yes!

Cool and really nice spot on the inside The pizzas are amazing The pasta wasn't bad but a little lack of flavors The steak fritt was ok the gravy was the main show the fries were meh The seafood bowl was not bad and dipping the bread was great but it was a little To Salty and was missing something We would comeback back to try again

The wait for dinner was almost an hour and a half, but it was definitely worth it! The restaurant was packed, with guests filling the street-side balcony, indoor dining area, and patio. The lively atmosphere, constant movement, and energetic noise created a vibrant and exciting dining experience. The three of us ordered the Nonna Maria Pizza, Cacio E Pepe Pizza, and Crispy Calamari as appetizers, followed by Bobber's "All Day" Bolognese Pasta. We also enjoyed Summer Sangria and Maritime Night Watch Dark Amber Ale. Everything was delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. Our server, Daria M., was especially wonderful. She was friendly, courteous, attentive, and proactive throughout our meal. Her warm smile and positive attitude added an extra touch to the enjoyable atmosphere at our table.

Parking was incredibly difficult. Asked the host where the closest parking garage was and the one they sent us to one that was $15 an hour. We were there over an hour. If it wasn't for our amazing server who got us validation, we would have paid $30. Ridiculous! I would look into parking ahead of time. It was not easy or cheap. Our server was excellent. She was knowledgeable, helpful and sweet. 10/10 Manhattan. You can't beat $8.99 for the price and the flavors were perfect 8/10 calamari. I really liked the peppers and the spicy aioli 10/10 salmon pasta. Pasta is sourdough and has digestion benefits but didn't taste sour like some sourdough pasta I've tried. Lots of salmon. Salmon was very mild and tender chunks. 10/10 fish and chips portion was massive. Fish was fresh and flaky. Fries were hand cut. 100/10 seafood stew. The broth was amazing. The seafood was fresh. It was the best dish of the night. Definitely had the most flavor. 10/10 rocky road pie- which was basically a s'more's dessert. They smoke it table side and it was a perfect ending to a great meal. Prices are midrange to affordable, especially for portion size and quality. Vons is popular for good reasons. Would recommend!

The pizza was the standout at Vons with their old sourdough starter. I would go back, service was great, beer was cold, and the pizza was delicious!

OG Butter Burger

I came during happy hour for a quick bite. I was a bit disappointed that fries weren't included. The burger itself was delicious. For a Monday at 5pm it was very busy. I sat at the bar, and wasn't helped for a while and the bartender took someone's order who sat after me. Only until I said something was my order taken. They also didn't give me any ketchup or even ask if I needed anything. No one asked me how I was doing during my meal. Understandably it was busy, but i wasn't expecting much, just the minimum requirements for service.

This is it. I found it! The best spicy smashburger in Seattle. Finally. I've been looking for anything that remotely comes close to Jojos spicy smashburger in PDX. And to be honest, most places lacked. But Von's? Amazing! The burger actually a decent kick. Excellent flavor. Definitely a new favorite and my new go-to burger. Service was excellent. And forget Happy Hour. If you're a WA resident, you get 25% off between 11 AM and 2 PM. That's a steal. I also tried their campfire dessert thing. It was delicious! Very rich. Easily got two meals out these. It was fast too.

Allison C.

Great happy hour deals here. My friend introduced me and we always come back. My favorite is definitely the sourdough pizza, do think that pasta is good but not as noteworthy. I will mention that the waitlist tends to get extremely long, so would recommend joining ahead of time or to expect a 1-2hr wait during peak times. Very chatty of an atmosphere, so great for groups.

Does any one know if kids are allowed in? Not sure if it's open to all or more like a bar vibe?

Yes! It's a good size restaurant and I saw kids there when we were there.

Do they have a bar that they serve dinner at?

Yes. The place is quite crowded at peak hours so the bar may be your best option if you have no reservation. It is first come, first served for seats at the bar.

Are reservations required?

We just walked in but it was busy so a resy wouldn't hurt

Do you offer a happy hour?

Yes. Per their website: "A downtown Seattle Happy Hour destination every day (Seattle 3PM-6PM, Woodinville 5pm-6PM), we still have the city's best cocktail bargain, our famous $6.99 scratch Martini."…

What's the parking situation?

Street parking as well as parking lots . Meter payment enforced till 8 PM and should double check as some are later like 10 PM.

Can you order for pickup? Call or text?

you can call to order for pickup, not sure about text

Is there seating with a view? Thinking this would make a fun anniversary dinner for me and my husband?…

It looks out onto the Harbor Steps, but there's no view of water.

Any gluten free vegetarian options?

Yes

Are you requiring vaccination at this time? I saw a question from august that said you were not so I wanted to check if this was updated.

As of September 2022, they do not require or check vaccination.

What time does your kitchen serve good until?

Hi Jordan, we will probably stop serving food around 11:30 tonight. Thanks!

Hi Awa We are not taking reservations at this time and encourage you to join us on a walk-in basis. We look forward to seeing you.

We are not requiring vaccinations for entry. However, if you have not been fully vaccinated, masks are required when not at your table.

Joseph We are not taking reservations at this time but we would encourage you to visit on a walk in basis. We open at 11am and there is not usually a wait if you come in…

Yes! And they're AMAZING! I love their flatbread and their salmon fish & chips! They have a killer atmosphere too! Enjoy!

Are minors allowed?

probably not sitting at the bar but it is a restaurant so the tables would be fine for minors

Do they have parking?

Street parking! No private lot

Does This establishment sell any of their house whiskeys by the bottle?

No they do not, they don't have a retail license for that

Does this restaurant have wheelchair accessibility?

Both times the place was incredibly noisy and drafty and one of those times was in the summer so it was surprising how cold it was. This most recent time we came for dinner and I was a bit worried as it was Saturday night and wasn't sure if there would be a long wait but surprisingly the restaurant was half empty and there was lots of tables to choose from. Despite that it was only half empty it was incredibly loud and very hard to hear anyone at my table. If you have been to other restaurants in this chain, the menus are similar, but not identical. I got the same thing that I have ordered at another Shawn O'Donnell's but some people at my table ordered new entrées since they didn't have what they normally ordered at the other restaurants. But they were OK with what they ended up getting. I had the steak salad and it was a massive disappointment this time around in comparison to some of the other restaurants in the chain. There's supposed to be blue cheese on the salad, but what I got was probably less than 1 teaspoon for a really large salad. It seemed like instead they substituted it with four times as much onions. The steak was mediocre. Not sure if this was because it was a Saturday night and maybe the chef was really busy (although as I mentioned, the restaurant was only half full) but it was a big disappointment because when I've eaten the same salad at one of the other restaurants in their chain, it was melt in your mouth delicious. Service was just OK. Our server was certainly nice enough, but she definitely forgot a few things that we had asked for. Although it was a bit of a disappointment, I would probably go back if I was in that neighborhood again just because it was a Saturday night and know that sometimes on busier nights service and quality of food are not always as good. Great decor and things to look at that are hanging on the walls or ceiling. Restroom is nice large and spacious. They also had outdoor seating with fire tables. If it had been summer, it would've been nice to enjoy that. There were some people that were sitting out there, but for us it was just a bit too cold being October and all.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs.
