I have gone to so many hair salons in the valley and haven't found "the" hair stylist yet. I always leave the salon feeling meh or whatever about it. I live right down the street from Volr salon and have always been interested but never have gone. I recently went and have NEVER been so happy about my hair. I had my hair done by Lorraine and she was nothing but sweet, caring, and confident. I kept saying I'm nervous about how my highlights will turn out but she said do not worry you're going to love it. This place has become my second home. Tiara does my hair and my eyebrows. She's a wonder woman. She always walks me through my cut and color and all the steps involved. She's sensitive to the fact that I have fine hair and always colors and styles it in such a way that it looks beautiful and full, careful not to over-treat it. My eyebrows are always perfectly sculpted when I leave. Tiara even got a different type of wax to accommodate my incredibly sensitive skin. I moved to Phoenix from Virginia and I was lost in choosing a quality stylist. After several bad experiences I went to VOLR. Today made my 3rd appointment with Nikki, and I have to say I couldn't be more satisfied! She is diligent and patient with my thick hair. She is cautious about keeping the integrity of my hair strong while lifting my hair to a perfect shade of blonde. I highly recommend her, but the other salon professionals seem great as well! I should have written this review a year ago when I first discovered VOLR salon and Jillian. Before finding VOLR I had a few bad haircuts that were traumatizing, and because of this I would dread getting my haircut and would only have it done once a year. After seeing a friend's beautiful cut and color, I asked where she had it done and she recommended VOLR and Jillian. When I first went in a year ago the salon was beautiful and modern and very comfortable. Jillian was sweet and able to balance the perfect amount of quiet and conversation. I had the best haircut and color ever!! Because of my great experience, I ended up seeing Jillian three more times that year for cuts and color, which is unheard of for me! Every experience there was great. I just moved out of the Phoenix area to Colorado and I'm nervous to go anywhere else. If I'm ever back in the Phoenix area I'll be going straight over to VOLR and seeing Jillian! read more

I have been to VOLR multiple times and I love how Annabelle and Lorraine work with my hair, they listen to what I want and take their time making sure I am happy and satisfied. I have very thick hair and blow drying and doing my hair even though takes forever but they do it with the best attitude and are super patient. I have been going to Nikki as a stylist for several years, and I wanted to write this review to share how very talented she is. She is such a phenomenal talent with color; in fact, she teaches color to other stylists. I have blonde highlights and I'm picky about what shade they are, but I have complete trust in Nikki. I have received many compliments on my hair since she has been doing it to the point that my friends have also sought out Nikki to do their hair. She's also great at cuts and styling; I always try to schedule my appointment for a day where I have something fun to do when I can show off my style. I've been to Volr twice. Both times I saw Lorraine for haircuts. She's a great stylist and has an awesome personality. I wasn't impressed with the salon itself and won't be back because of it. My first time there, I got an ice cold shampoo because they were 'out of hot water'. My second visit was Dec '14, during the week Phoenix had a good cold snap. I walked in for an early morning appointment, and the receptionist was bundled up in a coat and scarf. It was seriously had to be about 50 degrees in the salon. My first thought was that they shut the heat off at night, and since it was early morning, the salon just hadn't had a chance to warm up yet. But I found out that the heat wasn't working, and apparently had been out for a few days. The stylists were rolling around the hood dryers to try to keep their clients warm. I would think the salon could have called clients to give them an option to reschedule. No call, and the receptionist didn't even mention the arctic conditions, even though we were on the cusp of seeing your breath. Freezing air+wet head=misery. read more

I found VOLR Salon thru the app WynZyn and am so happy I did. I needed a new stylist and their web site with it's great stylist profiles drew me in. I had a really hard time deciding who I wanted to cut and color my hair. I decided on Jillian and she was wonderful. She suggested some minor changes to my highlights and suggested a root texturing product, both of which made my hair look amazing. She is going to help me with Halo hair extensions to match my hair color next. The salon is so beautiful and professional. Everyone there is super nice. I just had my hair done by Lorraine Watson at the VOLR salon. I am so pleased with my hair. Lorraine was so great, she offered many options for color and style. I haven't been to a salon in over eight years so I was a little hesitant to find a salon and have to find a new stylist. I love my hair it looks amazing and it is so soft and has amazing volume. My experience at VOLR has been just the absolute best! From the trendy vibe, amazing stylists and incredible service, I leave the salon feeling like a million bucks! Tiara is such a doll! When I first stepped in, besides the fact that I have extremely curly hair, my hair color was a mess due to the many layers of box-dye that I had put in it. From the get-go, Tiara was very knowledgeable and honest on how to go about fixing it. She told me it was going to be a process, but it would all be worth it! (This was super refreshing because I have had hair stylists just go ahead and bleach out all the color leaving my hair super dry, brittle and without my natural curl pattern.) I have been going to Tiara for 6 months and my hair is exactly how I want it without the damage! Not to mention that my eyebrows are always on point as well (She offers waxing services, too)! She is such a great personality and her head massages will send you to nirvana! I also love how the other stylists chip in with ideas and advice.
