I previously owned a modeling agency, and we were constantly changing hair styles and working with some of the best stylists in the world. After moving to the Sedona area, I had three disappointing experiences in a row--honestly, some of the worst hair I've ever had. I finally decided to make the trip to Scottsdale, where I knew I could find someone who truly cared about their craft. After doing some research, I chose this salon and booked with Lisa. In just one appointment, she completely understood what I wanted and delivered it flawlessly. With over 20 years of experience, she made what seemed impossible look effortless. She not only got me back to where I wanted to be--she exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most was that she listened. Really listened. Think twice before you go to this place! I honestly have never had an experience like this with a haircut, and I'm still incredibly frustrated and upset about it. I showed exactly what I wanted simple face framing and long layers but my hair was cut so unevenly that the layers didn't blend at all. There were random short pieces, completely different lengths, and the back was uneven and had no shape. It genuinely looked like a 5 year old had cut my hair, not a certified professional. Almost everyone who has seen my hair since has asked me the same thing: how could this possibly happen at a professional salon? Yes, I received a full refund, and I appreciate that. But I then had to go somewhere else to try to fix the damage. The second stylist had to take off even more hair, so I lost both the length AND the density of my hair just to make it look somewhat normal again. And even now, there is only so much that can be fixed. I have to wait for it to grow out. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I asked the manager for their number because I genuinely wanted someone to explain to me HOW this happened. She never responded. I got my money back, but I felt absolutely no real empathy or understanding of what I was dealing with just scripted comments like I would be sad like you too and "Everybody loves this hairstylist. That completely misses the point. This is MY hair. I can't undo what was done. Giving me my money back doesn't give me back the length and density I lost or change how awful I feel every time I look at my hair. I wasn't looking for drama or anything extra from them. I just wanted someone to actually acknowledge how badly this went, take it seriously, and explain how something like this could happen with a professional stylist. I never got that. read more

Very happy with how my hair turned out! Lora took her time and really listened to what I wanted. I had super dark black hair but wanted to add some blonde highlights to give my hair dimension but not look unnatural and still easy to maintain. She helped make sure my new color really complimented my skin tone and something that will grow out well with my natural hair color. I love that they used Davines hair products and color because I didn't want it to damage my hair with lightening it, my hair was smoother and felt silkier after my color than before we even processed my hair. I went to this hairdresser (Lora Moon) with very clear expectations: I asked for a lighter hair color and face-framing layers. Unfortunately, the result was the complete opposite. My hair was colored significantly darker than what we discussed, and instead of the face framing I specifically requested, I was given a very blunt cut. When I reached out afterward to express my concerns, my messages were ignored. Eventually, I was asked to come back in to discuss the situation, but instead of taking responsibility or trying to find a reasonable solution, I was told there would be no refund, no recut, and no attempt to lighten or correct the color. What was most upsetting was the way I was spoken to during the conversation. I was told, "Who do you think you are?" and "What world do you live in?" I was also told that I did not deserve a correction. Mistakes can happen in the beauty industry, but what matters is how a professional handles them. I would have appreciated an honest conversation, an attempt to correct the work, or even simply being treated respectfully. Instead, I was left with hair that was very different from what I requested and felt completely dismissed when I tried to address it. Based on both the result and the way my concerns were handled, I would not return and cannot recommend this hairdresser. read more

So I bought a topper the other day and knew that I was badly in need of a talented stylist with a good eye to make everything come together for the right look for me. Lisa was that and more. First she gave my "bio-hair" a good styling and shaping. I just moved to Phoenix and was so happy I found Lora Moon Styling! Mikayla was my stylist and she did an AMAZING job! Wow! Since I wanted extensions, I came in a week prior to service for a 10 min consultation so Mikayla could order the proper extensions for my hair type. Then on, style day, Mikayla colored, installed the extensions AND cut w style and blow dry. From start to finish, it only took 4 hours. As you can see, it looks like a million bucks. I've never been for one to get my hair dyed or highlighted, but I went to McKayla for help. I had a semi dye red in my hair and wanted to go back to my natural hair color with some light highlights. My hair was a light washed out red when I went to see her. She absolutely took her time and discussed the process with some of her co workers to make sure it was the best process for me, which I absolutely loved! Not only was that reassuring to me, it also told me that everyone is sweet and knowledgeable in what they do. McKayla is super sweet and amazing at what she does. I don't trust hair stylists but she's my now go to if I need something done. I'd 100% recommend this place to someone! The shop is a very cute earthy plant vibe which I do love. I went to Mikayla for highlights because I wanted bright blonde, and she absolutely nailed it.
