I had an appointment with Dee. Let's call this day 1. At the time of my appointment, my hair was a level 5, and I hoped to reach a warm level 7-8 with some level 9 highlights. During the consultation, I showed these two photos of my previous hair (from 2021) as inspiration, and she assured me this was doable in one visit. I have texts from our prior conversations confirming that she recognized my hair to be a level 8-9 in the photos. I am a licensed cosmetologist and understand the jargon, so I knew to request bleach washing, as I have a sensitive scalp and fine hair and I know this method to be gentler, even if it takes longer. Again, she agreed. When she mixed the lightener, I noticed the shampoo was absent from the formula and when I mentioned it, she said "it's fine!" She slapped the bleach on my hair from scalp to ends & then it processed for about an hour, during which time my scalp grew increasingly irritated. After washing out the bleach, my hair was left a light, bright orange, which I could tell right away hadn't been lifted light enough to achieve the desired outcome. Dee toned my hair, which only made it a darker orange, before adding foils to lowlight with a level 5, which came out looking closer to black. She advised she "needed time to herself" and sent me home to return the following day (day 2) for some highlights. On day 2, she rescheduled me to day 3, citing a higher priority commitment. On the afternoon of day 3, I received a text saying she was overwhelmed and couldn't fix my hair. She has since ghosted me. I was left with tiger striped hair, a section of breakage two inches long at my crown, sores on my scalp & neck, and no recourse - and no offer of a refund. I had to find another salon and spend several hundred dollars for a color correction that took 7 hours. Because my hair had been bleached so severely and breakage was visible, the stylist didn't feel it would be responsible to add in highlights during my appointment. I cannot say enough great things about this salon, especially Suzanne!! I've been going to her for about 2.5 years now and she does the absolute best job. I have a ton of hair and she highlights it very thoroughly and also rather quickly. When I ask her for a certain cut, she always does what I ask. I stopped a woman to ask where she has her hair done because her highlights were stunning! She said her stylist is Ricky and gladly gave me his phone number at Bijous. (I'm so particular about my hair that I used the same stylist for 20 years, even scheduling visits back home to AZ when we lived in southern CO over 7 years to use my same stylist! And yes, I tried several stylists where we moved to with pretty unhappy results! ) After moving back home to AZ, I'd been struggling to find a new stylist after my favorite retired, until I saw the lady with the great highlights and found Ricky! I can honestly say that after more than two years with Ricky, his ability to create just right color and most flattering cut has given me the same level of confidence and enjoyment as my past favorite stylist! Ricky is all about you having exactly what you want, whether it's the exact same style or if you have the urge to change things up. He really listens and discusses what you have in mind, and I've not once left the salon without being thrilled with both my cut and color! However, I've been known to go far too long between cuts if I know I'll be in Scottsdale and can see Molly. I'll wait! She's that good! Molly always knows just what I want, even if I don't. The only service I've received at Boujis Salon is from Jill, the aesthetician. So my 5 stars goes to her. Jill is a shining bright light and an old soul. She is warm, kind, and quite chic. She's wise and yet has a great sense of humor. You'll know right away when you meet her that you're in good hands. She has been shaping my eyebrows for years, and I will never go to anyone else. She truly considers your opinion on what it is you want for your eyebrows. If you ask for her opinion, she'll give you a great one, but she would rather accommodate your request first. She also has many good recommendations on eyebrow products. Jill's facials are AMAZING. Every time you think she's done, she puts on something glorious and refreshing. You also get a shoulder/scalp massage, and an optional hand massage while you have something blissful on your face. She's happy to chat with you during the facial, or if you rather have silence, she's okay with that too. Jill is so extremely knowledgeable about skincare. You can talk hours with her about products, process, etc. But ultimately, Jill's definition of beauty doesn't really involve the looks of the body at all. Jill focuses on what you want to FEEL like. And every time I leave the salon after a facial or brow wax, I not only look amazing, but I feel amazing, and that is what is most important to me. For the worst haircut one can receive. Do not go to Boujis Salon Spa, an upscale shop located on Haydon Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. I went there for a cut which is worse than terrible. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the cut as 0. Fantastic Sam's does a better job. I only need to wait 6 months till it grows out to a length where I will have it reshaped.
