I have been going to see Ty for years and I will never see anyone else. I drive for over an hour to get to Volr now that I have moved from the area, and I never regret it. I get just a regular haircut (shaved low on sides, little longer on top) but I have seem Ty work magic with any and all type, length, and color of hair. He has no right being this ridiculously talented. I have seen him do incredible shades of color as well as insanely gorgeous updos in addition to more traditional styles of cuts. Most importantly for me is that he is genuinely nice and funny to go along with his talent. My bouncing and fidgety 7 year old adores him and he is always excited when I telk him we have an appointment scheduled with Ty. I cannot recommend him enough. The salon itself is crazy cool looking on the outside, and the interior matches. Clean with lots of space between stylist stations. I am always greeted when I walk in. They also have a ton of products, but are never pushy about them, which is a huge thing for me. All of their stylist are highly talented (but I still recommend seeking Ty out first!). read more

Francisco is not just a piece of eye candy, he's an amazing stylist. I came in wanting my brown/red hair transformed into something silver. I wanted to look like a supervillain from a Pixar movie and he nailed it! I've 'had my hair done' like this before and it was a multi-day process that left my hair feeling like a dry Christmas tree in April. Not this time. He explained everything despite me saying "yeah, you can't f it up so don't worry." In truth, it could have been f'ed up but it was f'ing fantastic when he was done. I was so excited I sent a pic to 4 friends while sitting in the parking lot and the overall response was "holy s$&t. That's fantastic." Trust me, they would have told me if they hated it. I was lucky enough to find Jillian, unfortunately she moved out if the country shortly after finding her. She referred me to Alex. Good luck trying to get this guy to call you back. Then I scheduled with another guy, but never saw him. I was stuck on a plane and could not make my appointment. I offered to pay for his time (cost of service) as it was my fault. He said no and gave me the impression I should not bother booking him again. I understand as everyone's time is valuable. After talking to Juillian, the most amazing human being, he suggested I see Lorraine. I got my hair cut, it was a little uneven, but it seems like that happens more than not, so I thought when I get my color, we can fix her cut and she can be more aligned with my expectations. My appointment was today at 11am. I show up at 11am to be greeted by Jullian. He tells me she is not in. I told him I was only a week post op (emergency surgery) and I would wait as long as I could. At 11:14, Lorraine walks in with her hands full. She doesn't acknowledge me, no apology, no "I will be right with you" "sorry", NOTHING! That was the straw! I left. I figure shqe needed a couple hours to think about her unprofessional and rude behavior. I followed Ty Taylor here from another salon, and drive 40 minutes one way for him to cut my hair. Would follow him anywhere, he's very skilled and always does a great job. But I also like this salon a lot. Everyone is very friendly, the salon is clean, and it has a very cool vibe. And whenever I call for an appointment, there is none of this "So when do you wanna come in?" business. Lorraine is the best! I'm a fairly easy client since I don't color and just come in for cuts a couple times a year. But I have fine, stick straight hair and have had trouble before with stylists wanting to do tons of layers or try other ideas - never ends well. He took his time listening to my previous hair experiences, where I felt other salons had gone wrong and even looked over my Pinterest board of hair-spiration. He talked through a few of them with me and we decided on a look, an ashy brown/blonde balayage. He went straight to work and was efficient. I hate sitting at a salon for hours upon hours. First of all, I have a treatment-resistant form of alopecia which leaves me with massive bald spots on my head. I discovered VOLR Salon because I followed one of their newest stylists Ruben from his prior salon. I was thoroughly impressed with the every aspect of the salon, design , comfort and most importantly friendly professional smiling faces. I brought my sister and girlfriend with me, so we were there for the better part of 5 hours. All three of us had completely different hair and Ruben rocked it with all of us taking his time to listen and add his opinion. The owner Trini approached me many times striking up conversation, asking me questions and couldn't wait to run his hands through my hair when Ruben was done ... how great is that!
