I previously have been to this shop before COVID and I had friendly people and great service. I went back recently and had my hair stylist not only talk about how COVID wasn't a big deal to her, but then talk about child traffickings in horrible detail and cough near my head. She also tried to convince me of different political points that was very unprofessional in the situation. Sadly they have lost a long term customer because of this. read more

The Rose Hair Studio.. a local Studio where you can get pampered for a couple of hours. The stylists are all so nice and patient with you. As soon as you arrive.. You just tell them what you want and they will get it done. Their studio is surrounded by mint and white pastel shades with a hints of Rose Petal colors all through out the work area. ..it is modern and soothingn to the eyes. Their Aveda products are all over the salon and you can smell such an intense amount of mint and jasmine serums that are availabe on all their products. I love it.. read more

Love love love my hair. Came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I had 13 inches cut off which was a huge change for me. Went from hair that was at my lower back to a bob that was a little above my shoulders. Baily was my stylist and I absolutely loved her. She cut my hair and then I made an appt for the following week for highlights. I came back, got my highlights and even went a little shorter and got an a-line cut. We originally left it a little longer to see if i would be ok with the huge change. Baily is amazing at this cut and did such a great job. Everyone has told me that this is the cut and color for me. I also had my eyebrows waxed and that was great too. The price was actually very affordable. I honestly would have paid more for everything with how it all turned out. I look forward to maintaining my look with my new fave place!!! read more

I have mixed up feeling for this place, the first time I came in here was 2015 before their remodel, and now continue to come here at least once a month why? Because they are nice and it's a very nice salon, I would say I spend $85 - 200 bucks every time I get a new hair idea. Anyway thinking back on it my hair has never looked the way I want it to look which is why I keep changing it. Idntk if the stylists just don't listen to me or what exactly the issue is, I've been given the excuse of my hair been too dark at times, but I just recently came in and my hair was super light and it still didn't come out the way I wanted it. $185 bucks down the drain because i will probably have to change it again. I have been coming to The Rose since I moved here 2 years ago. Currently with Covid people are hesitant or concerned with going out. I have to say this salon has gone above and beyond to make you feel safe but also give you the calming, relaxing, and refreshing experience you are used to . Gloves, masks, 9ft between chairs, limited people being shampooed at a time, masks available for clients, and plenty of hand sanitizer if needed - all while still being friendly and cheerful. I am actually immunocompromised and felt beyond protected at my cut amd color appointment. My stylist is Aislinn, and is excellent. She has worked with me on color ideas with hair that is effected by medications to treat my illness. She is also honest about styles. She has had ideas how to disguise some hair loss/thinning I've had and also as I've been able to reverse the hair loss she has helped me with the unplesant grow out HAHA. She has kept me positive when I've not felt positive about it. I trust her to try new things. She knows her stuff. Honestly, I've observed the other stylists as well - everyone is so nice and welcoming and I see many other customers pleased. You really do develop a relationship....I consider them friends!!! I don't know if I've ever left a review on anything, but I just had to share my experience at The Rose Studio Salon. I've had about 6 visits at the salon, with nothing but a decline in quality. The first 3 appointments I had were with Rochelle, they were pretty good and Rochelle is just the sweetest person you could meet. I was satisfied. But then there was the incident, as I like to call it. Now I've had the luck of never having my hair done poorly. So I suppose it was my time to have that first experience. Rochelle was too busy to be booked, so I booked with another of the gals. When I arrived, I found that I was no longer booked with the original hair stylist, but with the fresh outta training stylist. I just I should take a moment to explain my hair. It's thick, I mean I have A LOT of hair, and it's fine and silky. I take twice the amount of color and time than the average customer with similar length. I love it, I take great care of it. I had been trying to grow it longer for a year and half. Anyways, back to the incident. My appointment was 1.5 hours before closing, I told the receptionist over the phone that my hair would take longer than that, probably closer to 3. He assured me that they'd be able to make it work. 1.5 hours later, and I'm just 3/4s into the color process. My stylist starts to get a bit speedy and careless at this point. Right as the stylists are leaving, she asked for toner help from one of the other stylist as they were leaving. As she made the toners she looked really insecure and unsure of herself. With good reason, because my hair turned out a mess. I'd been steadily going blond, very slowly, and I come out completely blond with blotches of dark orange in my hair. Not even streaks of dark orange, just random spots. It got worse. Now time for the hair cut. She held up random pieces of my hair and cut of an inch or so. Didn't split it off into sections. Just held pieces up and cut them straight, with my type of hair looked jagged and uneven. I left insecure, and upset. I didn't even have time to fix it, as I was leaving for vacation in two days. A few days later I call back, in hopes I could come in ASAP to fix it. Turned out Rochelle was booked for a solid two weeks, and I couldn't make any times work with my schedule for at least another week out. I settled for a time where she was in the Studio and could help out my stylist if needed. When I got back to the saloon I had multiple "oh my god, who did your hair" and shock when they found out it was one of their own. I had to completely do the color again, and cut off even more hair to fix the cut. About halfway through, Rochelle stepped in and took over. The first "fix" left me with white hair in certain places, I put my foot down and said I couldn't leave like that. She did the toner again, leaving it a decent color of blond. Not what I originally wanted before the incident, but I felt like I could live with it. It still had some stripes and an orange tint, but it was the best I could do without frying my hair. And now to my last appointments. My hair started turning orange really quick. I know this happens when you go blond, but I mean it was immediate. The stripes were showing quickly and I decided I should start the process of going back to my natural brown hair (note that I said "process, not immediate"). I was able to get in a lot quicker this time, and I explained ahead of time what I wanted done. First time in the color process I end up with a dark blond all over, it was rather pretty, but not what I wanted. I had to come in the next day though due to the inch of dark red at my part. I had been to the salon about only 5 weeks prior, but apparently that was long enough to have a difficult amount of new growth. The next day I had just one wish. Make it an even color. I just couldn't handle anymore stripes. When the color came out I had dark brown hair, darker than I've ever had. I didn't even want to look at it closely at the time, I just had to leave. It wasn't until the next day I noticed that my bangs are at least a shade darker than the rest of my hair. I still have stripes, and it's of dark brown and some off color of blond. They don't look good together. I don't want to go back to have it "fixed" again. My hair feels like it's been colored too much, no longer the silky hair I have always had. No one has complemented it, and my husband (who does notice barely anything when I change my hair) noticed it was off. Instead now I'm paying over $150 at least to get color correction. If you think about it, I've spent about $400 in the past 3 months in hair. If you have hair like mine, I don't recommend this studio. It only ends up with excuses and bad color. read more

I agree with Val C. I had my hair cut by 2 different stylists and I will not be using them again. My hair is a simple bob but is now flipping in all the wrong places and the layers seem really messed up. I too purchased a groupon but I'm not happy with my hair cuts and will not be returning. I missed the expiration date by a few days since I was out of town. I called in to see if I could use the remaining for products or some other service and I was told no. Basically once it's expired you are out of luck, unlike other companies who will extend expirations to keep valuable customers. Also, they had asked for my email which I did provide. However I never signed up for any email offers. Already they've spammed me twice and exposed my personal email address to 400 of their clients both times. This is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend Rose Hair Studio to anyone. read more

I booked a cut and color with Amanda and let me just say, I was impressed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist and offered refreshments. When I sat down with Amanda she knew exactly what I wanted but she really took the time to hear me out. She gave me thee BEST peppermint scalp massage ever and nearly put me to sleep. I've been going to Bailey for almost 6 years now. She is so nice, so friendly, and always is open to whatever I ask. I used to get all over color in a rich dark brown which was always exactly what I wanted. About 3 years ago I asked for a balayage and while it wasn't as light as I wanted, I understood and remained patient. Each session we went a little lighter and I never did get exactly like the pictures. I still really liked my hair. Most recently, I decided to chop off about 9 inches of my hair for a messy lob with more blonde than when my hair was longer. And I LOVE it. Bailey did a perfect job with the cut and she did an all over highlight. I'm not crazy about highlights at the root of my part so Bailey made an appointment for me to come in shortly after to give me a shadow root! So sweet, she always wants to make her clients happy. Always recommend her. Balayage and full highlight at a very good price compared to other salons in AZ. read more

The first time I came here my hair cut was WAY too short (not what I asked for). It was a boys hair cut and the shortest length was above my ears. Because it was so short the woman who did my hair told me that because I told her my hair grew very slow to wait a few months to come in to get it thinned out. Once it grew out enough and I felt like I needed it thinned out with the thinning sheers I called the rose studio and the guy told me that because it was longer than a month I would have to pay for a new cut and everything and it would be $42. I told him that coming in sooner would have been useless since all peoples hair grows at a different speed and I didn't feel like I needed it thinned out till now. He then asked the hair stylist how much it would be and she said well depending if (SHE) felt I needed a new cut , shampoo and blow dry before my thinning then it would be a different price. So just so everyone knows: they don't base your visit on what you want done, they base it on what they want to do. If you want your original cut maintained by only thinning (if you had gotten a short layered hair cut and you are growing it out) they will not do that for you. If you just washed your hair that morning they have the right to say we need to wash it again for no reason. ITS CALLED A SPRAY BOTTLE you wet someones hair with it to work with it. I told them I didn't want a style but apparently if she felt like I needed it blow dried out then she could choose that at the last minute and then charge me for it at the end of my visit. That is what they were saying. All this disorder for a simple grow out and thin....all of which she knew when she cut my hair the fist time. I told her I would be growing it out and she was the one who suggested I come back in just for thinning. At the end of the day I didn't get what I needed. I chose not to go back. Im going to go buy a pair of thinning sheers from sallys hair supply instead. read more

I saw there were some negative reviews regarding people who got highlights on here so I wanted to leave my review, as I've been going to this salon for a few years consistently now and it's been fantastic. However I have only been going to one stylist (Bailey) and after going to 3 different stylists in this area besides her, my hair when done by her turns out by far the best, so I just kept going to her. She cares about how it turns out and wants to get it right, and she is very talented. She's also fun to talk to and very sweet. I treated myself and a friend to a mani-pedi. Thought we would try someplace new. While the manicures were "textured" (that's how bad they were, FULL of bubbles and smears), and the pedis missed sections of our nails, we had lots to laugh about on the way home. What was not so funny was the consistent trashing of the techs in the "Asian shops". Enough already! Get over yourself! No, we won't be back, nor will we recommend this place to anyone. :( read more

I have tried out MANY salons in the West Valley from Surprise to Avondale to Litchfield Park and have not been happy with any of them until I came here. Meshell is my stylist, and she is fabulous. Have been going here for about a year now and have been super happy with every cut i've had by her. I am very much into high fashion and have high standards. I have been crazy enough to pay upwards of $200 for a haircut in the past, in high-end salons in Boston, and international cities like Edinburgh, and Montreal. I can't believe how little I am spending now and still getting a great haircut. Meshell is really great and I highly recommend her. This is the first time since living in Arizona that i have finally been happy with a stylist and kept them for more than one haircut. I am shocked to read the negative reviews posted here, and have to think that they are very isolated experiences. Do give this place a try! read more

On 04/11 I stopped in to get a haircut! The stylist was nice, and offered a complimentary scalp/neck massage. She was sweet, so I decided I'd increase her tip to 25%. When I got up to cashier I asked if it were okay that I add tip to my card, she agreed. As I drove away, I panicked that I left without adding the tip. I pulled the receipt out to call and make it right, when I noticed the girl at the counter had decided on her own to add a 40% tip to my total. I called asap, and the girl was annoyed by my call. Especially when I brought up the fact that usually I would fill out the tip amount on the line, the receipt she handed me has the tip amount filled in by computer. BEWARE ... THIS IS FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called to speak to the owner R.B. every single day since that day to no avail. This is not cool! I had wanted to try out this salon and when Groupon offered their fabulous coupon I ordered 2 of them! One for me and one for a gift for my mother who never gets her hair done. I was extremely satisfied with my touch-up color, hair cut and style. The price was fair and better than other salon's next to the Rose Studio. My cut turned out great, even though I did not give any real specifics as to how I wanted it cut. I showed Michelle a picture of what I wanted and she made it look even better than I imagined! It's colored just right, easy to style and looks awesome! I can't wait for my mother to enjoy this experience as well!! Kelsey has been taking care of my hair since this summer when i decided to make a pretty big change in my style. She does an excellent job and knows exactly what she is doing. She gives an excellent hair cut and everything falls into place exactly how it should. The salon is cute and quiet and has that yummy Aveda smell. I bought a groupon for a shampoo, blow-dry, and style. I got to the salon and explained to the stylist what I wanted, and she was like, okay, well we're not going to be able to do that with a blow dryer. I told her I understood that, but I wanted her to use a curling iron as well. Apparently they charge TWENTY DOLLARS for them to use a curling iron. $20!!!! For them to pick up a curling iron! I explained that my deal said shampoo, blow-dry, and style, and the stylist said yeah, but they "style" it when they blow-dry it, and aren't willing to do anything else unless you pay more. I was so upset and annoyed and when I tried to tell them I didn't want to use my groupon anymore, they were completely rude to me. The groupon said shampoo, blow-dry, and STYLE, not shampoo and blow-dry! I will never go back to this very overpriced salon that not only doesn't honor their coupons, but also has incredibly rude employees. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this salon so I could give it a try, I'm looking for a good place on the west side to have my hair done. I was really excited after looking at the website, it looked like a really nice place. So, I made my appointment and gave it a try. I wear my hair in a chin length bob with little bit of layering in the back, a cut that is pretty common and most stylists can do a pretty decent job on the cut. Meshell seemed baffled, she didn't undercut the bottom, the sides were uneven and the layers were really chunky. After struggling with my hair for a week I called and tried to have my hair fixed. I was told Meshell is one of their best stylists, that she has never had a complaint, and that this salon does not undercut bobs. Huh? Jerrie B seems to be happy with lesser service because she bought her groupon at a discount, but I didn't purchase the groupon to be treated like a cut rate customer, I purchased it so I could give a new salon a chance. I had the cut redone at a reputable salon and once again have my sleek bob that takes 5 minutes to style, not the 20 minutes it took to style the mess that Meshell made of my hair. The only bright spot is that the rose studio did refund the unused portion of my groupon. read more
