Enchiladas supremas
Brian L.

First time here in many years. By and large, I think Mexican restaurants are superior to American ones in terms of service and food quality. Viva Mexico is no exception. I am eating the enchiladas supremas with the variety of enchiladas. Bean, beef, chicken, and cheese. Very, very good. I will return Salsa: just the right amount of kick. Very good. Also just the right temperature. Slightly chilled but not cold. I hate cold salsa with warm chips and they got it right. Service: wait time just a few minutes. Average for Mexican food. Tea is topped off without my asking however she takes my tea away from me to go refill it. I hate that. Temperature: not too good in this department(except for the salsa). Food was warm but not super hot. Plate was not warmed up so food cools down quickly. Mexican food typically will burn you when it is served, but not my plate. Appearance: just kind of so so. Dirty carpet, worn out seat covers on booths, chairs and tables that wobble, limited decor, but nothing really bad. Tables are being cleaned promptly and the dining room appears clean. Health department score: 98! Way to go! Music: low level oldies instead of Mexican music. I actually found this to be a pleasant surprise. Menu: everything you can think of in every combination is on this menu. Also plenty of pictures. I think my biggest complaint is the temperature. If my plate was piping hot it would deserve five stars. I talked to the cashier about this and her said the enchilada plates are microwaved. Well there you go. No wonder.

Had the Pollo asada burrito. Very good with guacamole. Salsa similar to La Hacienda! Again, live music on Saturday! I had margarita on the rocks with an extra shot. All good! Lively place to celebrate anything!

Excellent margaritas. The service is phenomenal and they stay open late every Friday night. The fajitas are also delicious as well.

Irish Irish Irish (Fancy Restaurant)…read more This was the first experience making reservations for an Irish pub, but it was way more than a pub. Think date night. The food was a delight! Recommend the pimento cheese bread sticks for appetizer or any other time. Also, this was the first time I've had a Kilkenny draft which was another highlight. I see now it's rare to find. Smooth and creamy. If I lived nearby, I would be here more often. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the price and experience. Just pointing it out to expect to pay, but also pointing out it was worth every cent.

Unfortunately, the food has been consistently underwhelming during my recent visits. I first ordered the lamb chops. They were not what I would consider traditional lamb chops and were surprisingly chewy and difficult to enjoy. I returned and decided to try the Irish Curry Chicken. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dishes I've had there. The menu described it as chicken thigh, but it was clearly chicken breast. The dish lacked basic seasoning and flavor. There was very little salt, umami, or curry flavor. The rice was wet, overcooked, and mushy. Overall, the entire meal tasted like something taken from a grocery store freezer section and reheated. At this point, I would recommend sticking to the fries and the burgers, which remain the strongest items on the menu.

The building has a classic charm with a hint of elegance that elevates the dining experience. Okay, let's get into the food- the southern strawberry cake was absolutely delicious. Each bite took my palate on a joyride of goodness. The mashed potatoes were velvety and delicious- smit was the best mashed potato I've ever eaten. The redfish and crab was the perfect combination. The fish was fresh with just the right amount of flakiness. The cheese grits were very tasty too. Definitely a southern experience worth having.

We attended church in Memphis which ends at 12:30 and bc we live out of state, we had to find things to do for 3 1/2 hrs. We discovered when we arrived that they had opened up reservations an hour early after we booked. I wish that they had first informed those of us who had first reservations so that we could move ours up. We arrived about 20 minutes early expecting to wait until our 4:00 reservation but they seated us immediately. We ordered wedge and harvest salads for our first course and the oyster deviled eggs appetizer. Both salads were very good. I did think the egg were a little bland and I didn't taste the oyster on one of the 4 deviled eggs. The candied bacon topping is what made the eggs overall good. Otherwise l, without the candied topping it was bland. I ordered the pork chop with sweet potato casserole and Brussels sprouts. My dish was very good and enough for me to take more than half for leftovers. (This doesn't mean change the portion bc it's just right.) My husband ordered the fried chicken dish. It was a giant piece of chicken. Fried very nicely but the coating was not seasoned well, if at all, to me. However, he enjoyed his meal and that's what counts. He said the collard greens were absolutely delicious and the mac and cheese was very cheesy and good! He also took home most of his meal. We don't have big appetites so the portions are probably just right for the majority. I took home the lemon pie dessert. I was expecting more of a meringue taste based on the description but it wasn't, so I wouldn't order it again. We ordered the house wine and 1 of the specialty drinks. The staff were very professional and friendly. The manager (I assume) stopped by every table to check on us. The restaurant has very nice ambiance and the tables have a nice amount of distance between them. It looks well maintained and the bathrooms are clean. The price point isn't bad esp for the generous portions. We've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times before over the years, and I still recommend it.

He was so nice and cordial. He checked on us from time to time. We started off with the honey whipped feta dip. It was very good. We also ordered the poke nachos. It was delicious! The chips were so crunchy and warm. For dinner I ordered the pistachio encrusted salmon on a Greek salad. My friends both ordered the short ribs. All of our food was very tasty! No complaints on any of our entrees. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter bread pudding. It tasted amazing! It was very moist and flavorful. Happy hour was until 6 pm so got a well made $10 old fashioned. Environment was relaxed, proper, and cozy for dinner and the bar area. Great spot for a date night. The honey Feta appetizer was great and unique, can feed 2-4. The entrees were delicious, salmon plate and the catch of the day; both were cooked wonderfully. I had a whiskey sour with my entree. Finally, had the mixed berry crème brûlée and it was great way to cap off a wonderful experience! Huge thank you our great server Alex. He was so helpful and patient.
